I'm going to skip a bit further in time a few days and take a few liberties with what people are doing. Well...except Desmond he's still holed up with his private entertainment. :-)
Most of the party members eventually find their way to Talbard's Books and Learning where you can find some answers.
I'm working on the post. I'm trying to find a notebook with my story arcs which apparently I misplaced.
Is the group going to convince Desmond and Nym to have the weapons inspected at Talbard's? if so, who is present when the weapons are revealed and are you doing any type of precaution before revealing the weapons. Anyone in the room needs to make a Will save.

Karnog will sit and shoot the breeze while Nib tries to round up all our purchases. Hopefully Nym or Kalim can sneak in and swipe Des's BOH with the evil weapons in them.

Felicitas as you scour the ancient tome within the library you begin to cobble together a plausible solution and history regarding the Shrines of Power, the dungeon, and the avatar's relationship.
The unholy shrines in the dungeon provide power to the demon prince, Orcus, and his avatar, the “Master.” To cleanse the area of evil, a fearless party must destroy and consecrate each of the three unholy shrines. The unholy shrines are known as: The Upper Temple of Orcus, The Lower Temple of Orcus, and the Chapel of Orcus.
The first unholy shrine is rumored located in the upper quarter of the dungeon Level 4, where you found Meath’d. The second unholy shrine is located on level 9 and is guarded by Gudmund the Disciple. The last of the unholy shrines is located deep below the surface on level 14 but can only be accessed through a secret passage from level 5. Death awaits the foolhardy.
Any hope to of expunging the evil forces within the dungeon destroying the Shrines of Power is necessary as the Master draws power from each of these power centers. Destroy one and weaken him, destroy two and get his attention, and to destroy three will provide a flicker of hope.

I'm still working on a second part of the story as it relates to the weapons.

How do I link one post to a profile?
Right click on the time/date which is to the immediate left of the Flag link, that will reveal a drop down list and click on the copy link which should be 3rd one from the bottom. That copies the link and then do a url code format. Just put it on your character profile that will hyperlink to the original post.

Bump. Are you eventually going to corral Desmond between his monkey interludes and have those weapons inspected?
Grungsdi
Grung will definitely be present, but I think we need KArnog to do the collection
Karnog Kegmeister
If Kalim, Nym, and Grungsdi ask about assistance for getting those weapon from Desmonf, he will happily tag along.

As the weapons are brought up, Desmond looks down sheepishly. "Yeahhhh...so the thing about that...well I got into some gambling last night..."

"Do you really mean that you gambled away the most potent, evil-touched, Orcus-damned magical items any of us have ever seen? I understand you have a weak will and are rather impulsive, but if true, that is bordering on criminally stupid. Not to mention, whomever holds those weapons probably now has the ear of the Prince of Undeath, and divulge our location, names, and who knows what else to him."
Karnog frowns sternly at Desmond, hoping he is not telling the truth.

"Ok but I had a great hand!"
Karnog Kegmeister
"Desmond, you are remarkably stupid and short-sighted, even for a human. I was willing to give you the benefit of the doubt before, but that was just blatantly acting against the good of our group. Those weapons were party treasure, incredibly important to the overall goal of clearing Rapan Athuk once and for all, and you lost them in a card game? Bah."
Desmond Aeros
Where and to who ya fool?
Desmond furrows his brows. "Oh I was pretty sloshed last night...pretty sure it was some short, fat human fellow with a bushy beard. Andras was his name?"
Desmond is lying through his teeth. Completely making things up.

"Rude."
Karnog Kegmeister
"Allow me to be very clear, here. We are not 'moving on' from this topic. Those weapons are crucially important to our quest, not to mention being extraordinarily valuable in and of themselves. Since you're lying about losing them gambling, I imagine you still have them on your person. Since one is a greatsword and other a dwarven waraxe, the only place would be in your haversack or bag of holding. And if you're unwilling to share them with the party, that means you're either under a spell of compulsion somehow, or wish to steal from us and part ways. You're not suicidal, so I'd say the latter is not very likely.
Desmond Aeros
Desmond looks hurt. "Look I may have been dishonest about what happened last night, but I need some modesty. And I care deeply about the mission." Desmond takes off all of his extradimensional carrying items and hands them over.

Grung moves to Desmond, then he climbs up on a crate. Then he grabs Desmond by the jerkin and lifts him up.
Look ya fool. If this was another time I would be the first one to jump in there and show ya how it is done, but this is no the time or place. Now if the weapons aren't in this bag, then you and me are gonna go get them back. Ya get it? I'm not even all that mad. A young'un of only 20 years cant be expected to know everything now can he.
Then he gently puts him down and fills his mug and downs it

Karnog waits to find out if the sword and axe are stashed somewhere or what.
Karnog Kegmeister
"Apparently our rogue took it upon himself to lose them somewhere. In all.likelihood, he traded or gave them over for some foolish physical contact. For all I know, with a devil or demon or another undead monstrosity."
Karnog let's out an exasperated sigh.

Desmond looks down sheepishly. "Look it was a hell of a night, I don't remember much..."
Desmond remembers just fine, and probably knows exactly where the weapons are.

"I'm sure the night was one to sing about for ages. But now it's time to grow up, dig up those weapons, and get to work figuring out what to do next."
Desmond Aeros
Desmond groans. "Man you guys are digging into this hard. Can't you just trust me on this one?"
You most certainly cannot trust Desmond on this. And he will most likely argue with you in circles for the entire night.
Grungsdi
Grung cuffs Desmond on the ear.
Stop arguing. Unless ya want to me the wrong end of Croaker then it's time to be about it!
