One thing is odd when you search the room, it's clear that the who ever was searching did locate but did not remove the fallen angel's weapon. You suspect that this was no simple theft but one that was targeted for a specific item. The perpetrator had great discipline by leaving such a valuable weapon behind.
Your search reveals very little about the talented rogue who managed to get into the room. The lock was cleaning picked, the window sill is a ajar so you figure the thief entered through the door but left via the window. hand holds leaving the second floor are minimal. Simply put this person or creature was talented.
When you confront the owner and staff of the Slywink they confirm that they only heard a few crashes but thought that was actually Desmond having another loud tryst. No one recalls seeing anyone lurking around the door or acting suspiciously.
Karnog Kegmeister |
"Well, this is bad. Very bad. Now, we mst track down the holder of the deathknight's axe before it can bring ruination and destruction onto Fentonville. To that end, I must acquire several consecrate scrolls, and would greatly appreciate if you could chip in for some of that cost. It's the only way well be able to keep ourselves safe from the Shrines we must destroy."
Grungsdi |
I just blew my coin on armor upgrades. But here is all I have.
575 gold exchanges hands
Karnog Kegmeister |
"Each scroll is worth 250gp. With Grungsdi's contribution, another 500 from Desmond, and what I have in hand, we should be amply stocked going forward."
Assuming they are available, Karnog buys 8 scrolls of consecrate. If needed, he can prepare several tomorrow and work with some scribes to make the items.

Anyone else tossing in some coin for Karnog's scrolls? This is something the party is going to need.
So you've searched the room and asked around the tavern about the happenings. It's a mystery as to who broke into the room. What's the game plane? Nym has suggested finding the nice half-orc and selling the other weapons to him.
Karnog Kegmeister |
"Maybe we sell to that fellow, maybe someone else. I'd like to ask the sage what he can tell us about these weapons, though. And maybe some more about these shrines while we're there. Maybe he can talk about the deathknight, or suggest someone else to speak with?"
Grungsdi |
yea he might know how we can find the other
Felicitas, can you send your monstrous dragon friend on a scout? Maybe something turns up
Talbard the Grey |
The group returns to the library, and Felicitas insult-riddled training grounds, for a meeting with Talbard.
Before the group can do anything the caster begins to casts a series of protective spells. Including the finishing of a complex chalk diagram on top of a massive round table which stands in center of the large room. The fragrance of sweet oily fills the room from the seven wall sconces.
With a little coaxing Nym is persuaded to remove the remaining weapons. The bushy-eyed scholar's brow raises as the two weapons are unwrapped. Talbard's hand shows the slightest tremble when the fall angel's weapon is revealed.
to Nym in undercommon, "Place the axe on the ground, but do not put the fallen angel's weapon there. That needs to go in the middle of the table. You need to climb on the table....but be careful and do not disturb any of the lines...you need to walk on that table and put it in the dead center where that sword rack is placed. If you disturb a line rest assured we will all end up before the god of the undead in greatly tormented state."
Nym you can climb on the table DC 12, then I need 3 DC 18 acro to not touch a line on the way to the sword rack and 3 DC 18 to safely get back.
Karnog Kegmeister |
"Here, this will allow you some easier access, Nym. Accept the air walk spell, and you can ignore the climbing on the table carefulness."
Assuming the drow accepts it, Karnog casts air walk on him.
Karnog Kegmeister |
"If that is part of the ritual, I suppose needs must. In either case, the spell only afford him the ability to stand on air, not the requirement to do so."
Grungsdi |
Well I wouldn't mind fighting a god...but maybe later.
Nym Omriwin |

what is the weight of the sword? Its a great sword correct?
Nym Omriwin |
Nym casts a spell spiderclimb. He walks over to the sword and hefts it fealing its weight. He sets it down and his rapier appers in his hand. He starts to hand it to Kalim, but stops
With spider like agility Nym assemds the table and proceeds forward.
acro: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
acro: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17

acro: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
acro: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23

Nym gets on the table without issue and takes a few steps the chalk lines begin broadly and both the lines and spaces get tighter as he gets closer to the middle. Just then his left foot scrapes the chalk, he tenses and his next foot create a dusty chalk cloud. Sheer panic hits the drow and massive force explodes from the table slamming him against the ceiling, then back to the floor. Eerily there is no sound of the sword striking anything.
Nym ceiling and falling damage: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 5) = 12
Sudden blackness engulfs the room...

fyi the sword is in my glove. easier to move. I was original going to use mage hand but saw your post to Karnog. That's why I was asking.
suppressed or dispelled, the stored item appears instantly. A glove of storing uses up your entire hands slot. You may not use another item (even another glove of storing) that also uses the hands slot. [CL: 6th] [Hands (PFCR)]
Karnog Kegmeister |
Karnog brings his buckler up and drops into a defensive position, Nym's rapier held uncomfortably in his hand.
"Not good! Don't do that!"
Grungsdi |
Grung moves as directed and pulls a handful of his star bullets out of his pouch and throws them high, hopefully the spattering of them will give a little light.
Nym Omriwin |
Ok...I misread that part of your original post. Although a greatsword is a two-handed item, so I don't think meets the requirement of "...must be able to be held in one hand."
I missed that too. Was looking at the 20lb part. I guess that would make some sense. Technically I would assume it could be held one handed but not used. Your call.
Karnog Kegmeister |
Happily! I don't really know how to use the pointy thing, anyways!
baldwin the merciful |
There is an explosion of random color mixed with tones of black and grey that burst forth from the blackness. A rip in the dimensional seam reverberates with a near deafening tone and the table trembles. An aura of chaos and entropy engulfs the room.
I need fortitude save to avoid temporary blindness.
Talbard: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (20) + 15 = 35
Demon of the Abyss |
I'm going to let this sink in and play out a bit, then I'll roll initiative if need be.
Standing in the middle of table is a horned, winged, wolf-headed demon, it has bone-white flesh onto which have been riveted plates of spiky armor. "YOU DARE PULL ME INTO THIS PLANE!!!! WHO IS THE FOOL.". The creature is stands nearly 8 feet tall, and weighs at least 400 stout pounds, and he is holding a wicked looking falchion that is dripping an inky black oily substance.

You could have place it in your handy haversack without issue.
