I'm currently loving my new subscription for Skull & Shackles and was considering picking up all of the Kingmaker AP books. (I've already got the Kingmaker paper miniatures.) My question is, if I order the hard copy books do I automatically get the PDFs as well?
No. The free pdfs are a subscribers' perk.

To expand on what Kajehase said (since MJinthePitt is currently a subscriber), you need to be a subscriber at the time the book is released in order for you to get the free PDF. So, in order for you to get the Kingmaker PDFs for free, you would have had to be a subscriber back when the Kingmaker books were released.

Yes, in fact you'll be able to start before the minis actually go up on the site I'd guess. the susbcription choice changes when the first subscription copies go out, which isc scheduled to be next Monday. Even if they do go up in the next week, it won't matter for preorders - Paizo don't charge for anything until they put it into a box to go to you.
Wise Tiki, Because Skull and Shackles 6 and Shattered Star 1 are scheduled to ship at the same time you will not be able to sign up for Shattered Star 1 by clilcking on the button until after they start shipping (or at least authorizing payments, I'm not sure exactly when the rollover occurs). However, Paizo has awesome customer service and if you contact them at customer.service@paizo.com, I would bet that they will be able to get you set up right away.
Generally (and this is very generally), if there's a delay in shipping subscriptions out, it is because a customer has ordered additional non-subscription items to their order. These orders then have to be processed manually, which can add a bit of delay to getting the order shipped out. I've double-checked with the warehouse, and they are finishing up the last bit of the subscription shipments.
I'm curious. I have a fairly decent backlog of adventures to run at this point, so I don't necessarily need the monthly shipments. Is there a way to ship all 6 books of an adventure path at the same time?
I don't mind paying monthly, I just don't need to receive them monthly and it would save me and you on shipping costs.

Curmudgeonly, you could suspend your subscriptions, and when the last volume ships, unsuspend and get all of them shipped to you at the same time. However, suspending your subscriptions will also remove your Pathfinder Advantage discount.

What's your experience at Paizo, did you recive any complaint due to lost shipments? If yes (as I fear) what is your policy about it?
Most international orders go through just fine. We rarely have any address that doesn't eventually get its packages delivered (sometimes, some addresses routinely take a bit longer than the post office generally estimates). When packages do go permanently missing, we try to work with the recipient to ensure delivery or other satisfactory resolution.

There is currently no subscription model for PDF only. If you want the PDFs only, you need to purchase them when they become available.

I live in Sweden and have been subscribing since the end of the Serpent's Skull AP (with a different account [for complicated reasons that is only a problem to me]) and everything has arrived when it should so far. One or two times it's even arrived a couple of days too early.
I'm thinking too on buying the AP subscription. There can be problems with national taxes? I'm from Spain.

To add what Jeven said: most EU countries have laws that relieve the duty to pay import duties and VAT if their total amount is 10 EUR or less.
I had a big Paizo box once incoming, and it got held by customs. I've had to produce invoices, proofs of payment, sign a zillion of papers and 1 month later the box arrived at my doorstep with an notice that said "the total amount of VAT and import duties did not exceed 10 EUR, therefore no payment is necessary".

I'm also Italian and I have subscribed to the AP since the very beginning. I also placed many other orders with Paizo. In my experience, sometimes (but not often) packages can be delayed for quite a bit, but when this happens, it's always been the fault of customs and never of the postal service. In any event, in all these years, I don't think that a single package has gone missing. In the unlikely event of something like this happening, I'm sure that Paizo would help you.

Now that My friends and I know the basics, I wanted to start an AP with them. But I'm not sure how APs work.
Are they the same as how the black fang campaign was written in the Gamemasters Guide of the Beginner Box? As in, does it tell you what to do, when what events trigger, what to tell the PCs, etc.? Thanks for your help.

Adventure Path's are a series of 6 books. The bulk of the book contains adventure text. There are typically 2 segments on side topics per book (city/village/location description, new (special) rules for the adventure, description of one of the religions related to the campaign), a few pages of fiction, and some new monsters). There is also a free Players Guide which can be downloaded.
The Adventure Path (and modules) doesn't give as much direction, as Black Fang's Dungeon was meant as an introductory encounter with rules interjected into the text. Instead, you'll need to "understand" the rules well enough to have an overview of what should happen, although the trick to good GMing is knowing how to improvise past parts you don't know very well offhand. (Don't stop the game, just make a note to look it up later, and use a dice roll that seems appropriate.)
The APs/Modules use a similar format as Black Fang's Dungeon. There is a section title, "Block Text" (designed to be read aloud), then text describing to you the true details of what is present that you need to interpret/handle, and then Stat Blocks (or page number references to them) for any combats.
Before a session, you'll have to review the encounters, check the bad guys abilities, and look up what the mean. You'll have to read up on the backstory of critical locations and characters, and be ready to act out NPC's. Key NPC interactions are noted in the APs, but you'll presumably have to take some notes.

Having a physical copy of the Core Rulebook at the table is very nice, and you should ensure that all of your players have quick access to the text of any rules they use.
2) A module might be a better transition piece. Search for Paizo's Free RPG Day modules for a short version, but The Dragon's Demand might be good. However, APs start with brand new characters are meant as a full campaign. When you start an AP, you start with new characters. (Modules are not meant as a full campaign, are more of a "short story".)
3) Also note that a new AP is starting right now. If you want to subscribe through Paizo, now would be the best time for the next 6 months. See Mummy's Mask.
4) These message boards connect your to a wonderful community. If you have questions, need advice, or even want to know how other GMs handled something, this is a good place for all of that.

For the sake of budget limitations, is the Anniversary Edition of RotRL a good investment? Having everything in one book seems convenient and the plot seems easy to get myself and my friends feet wet (although APs like Skull and Shackles or Reign of Winter sound cool, I don't want to dabble in "must-have skills" during character creation yet).
Also, in term of maps, do APs show you or describe to you what you should draw in terms of places of interest? When I was doing AP research, I know some of the dungeons are crazy massive. How do GMs deal with these massive dungeons in terms of map grids and combat? I'm willing to draw on my BB flip map, I'm just not at the level of sand-box invests to make all the rooms up as of yet :P

Splittingimage in my opinion Rotrl is the best entry level AP. Reign of winter is a good one but I remember it being a tough AP. Skull and Shackles is more sandbox style adventure then most others (other then kingmaker) and has new rules for naval combat. Most APs have the maps in them. Paizo does also have Flipmats for some dungeons and encounters such as this map is the town square for an encounter in burnt offerings. But most of the dungeons are not to big.

RotRL is a good one. Specific questions are probably better directed to the appropriate sub-forum.
Personally, I don't find the Town Square map reusable enough to be worth it.
APs don't show you, directly anyway. But there is a natural tendency to focus on things that deserve attention. The glowing thing with monsters crawling out of it doesn't require much additional focus, just mark it's outline with a different color marker on the map.
For general mapping stuff, I use this in addition to the BB map, although a double pack is also available now. A multi-color pack of wet/dry erase markers works well, having some colored glass gaming token-beads are also useful.
Not every room has a combat, so don't worry about mapping out the whole dungeon at scale. You can get a PDF of just the maps (same size as what is in the book) here. If you don't care that secret rooms are obvious gaps, you can print out a player view, cut it up, and give the players a piece room by room. For outdoors areas, just use it as a reference.
A quick question; can the adventure path be set up to go to a different address? My friend wants the subscription for the pdf and the discount, but wants to send the physical book to the house he plays at, not his home. Can that be done?
I'm not sure I understand your question.
Have the books go to the address you want. The PDFs are tied to the Paizo account that purchased them and can be downloaded from anywhere.

Specifically, I was going to get the Adventure Path subscription for Mummy's Mask, and I read that you basically get the downloads & the physical books. I only really want the PDFs, but I have quite a few friends who'd love the physical copies. So the question is basically: If I get the subscription, can I get the downloadable PDFs (as per the usual) and choose a different address for the physical books to go to? If I remember correctly, Paypal uses the default address information of the account owner.
You can edit the shipping address to ship to where ever you want. Keep in mind though, if any issues with the physical shipping come up, they will have to go through the account holder (you) to be resolved with us.

Also, be aware that PayPal isn't a payment option. You'll need a credit card (with the same billing address that the cardholder's bank has on file).
Hi I've been thinking of getting a AP subscription for a while but I recently purchased the first two volumes of Wrath of the Righteous in paperback and I am extremely displeased with the quality of the binding. I've only read them through so far and pages are falling out already. By the time I use them at the gaming table I'll have to punch holes in them and put them in a 3 ring binder.
My question for everyone out there is:
Are all the AP books as poorly bound as the ones I purchased?
The print quality is great but if these two volumes are indicative of the quality put into binding them, then I'll have to pass buying the books.

The binding issue seems to be more prevalent with the WotR AP than I've seen mentioned on the boards previously.
I've gotten the books directly from Paizo since Serpent's Skull and I've not had a binding issue with any of mine (but that includes WotR).
I haven't have a subscription since Jade Regent and I'm considering coming back for Iron Gods AP. Thing is though, how much is the typical shipping cost in the US. I live Oregon btw. I selected the "Cheapest possible" available to on the checkout for shipping (just to test it), but it doesn't tell me what that price is, or at least an estimate price. I don't want to commit to the order just to see what it will cost to ship to me. Is there a way to figure this stuff out, or am I blind?
Have you tried putting a random AP volume in your cart and seeing what your shipping options are? They're all the same size/weight so Iron Gods #1 should ship for the same cost as, say, Wrath of the Righteous #5.
My last AP volume shipped to Texas for $6.09 in February, standard postal delivery.
I was rushing to get things done before heading out to work so I didn't test out any other options.

Trying to rethink my "OMG I Want Everything" subscription plan. Gets a bit expensive :) As someone who will never DM, is there any value in getting the Adventure Paths?
I'm actually wondering if we'll ever get a Adventure Path were we'll have to fight a newly released and empowered Whispering Tyrant. I know Carrion Crown came close but I'd definitely love to see a mythic adventure focusing on ending the menace of Tar-Baphon forever.
