Ori Reading wrote: After Tyrrin left, Ori looked over at Salis, smiling. "There's an entire section in the library on words of power. I've been looking forward to studying it actually. Perhaps we can study it together. But in the meantime, you are going to need to hurry as well or you'll be late to your first class."
She helped him gather his papers and kissed him passionately before effectively shooing him out the door.
"Ah yes I do have a class to teach. Thank you for the reminder. I have quite the lecture today for class. It's a shame I don't have more time for this class." He sighed before throwing his satchel over his shoulder and stepping in to the hall. "See you for lunch." He told Ori before starting his way to class.

"Sure. I will contact you once I learn anything substantial. This will take some time as I am changing an ancient spell that is very finite in it's order to do the opposite of it's intended task. This magic isn't even something I'm fully sure works in this multiverse." He tells them both without looking up from the book. Then he looks up like he just realized something. "Do ether of you know any words of power or some who does. This information will hasten my work by leaps and bounds." He looked at the two quite serious, or was that just an average look. Sometimes it was hard to tell.

Salis steps back from the conversation. Turning to his deck he starts writing within his note book. After a few lines he picks the book up and turns back to the girls. Nodding he starts writing more in the book. It doesn't take him long to slow his writing speed down.
"If their is a way to get me here I'm sure there is a way to the spirit world. I may be able to come up with a variant to a summoners call. They could summon spirits. It would takes some time and I would need the help of an experienced caster to cast the spell. Hopefully the words of power are the same here as they are in my multiverse. If not I will just have to do a little research." Salis rambled on loud enough for Ori and Tyrrin to hear and understand but not loud enough to think he was speaking directly to them.

"Perhaps we then know whom to thank for his current... satiation." Tyrrin replied, and while her tone was still fairly dry, she wasn't trying to hide the smirk on her face, and another not-subtle glance at Salis. Clearly she thinks she's quite hilarious.
After a moment she becomes more serious, her acedemic side demanding the reins for a while. The smirk fades away. "So, I'm not quite sure what this 'Spirit World' is... some Plane or Demiplane? Does this mean that our hypothesis regarding it being a kami was correct?"
"I haven't had the best of luck with relationships in the past...I think I've finally broken that particular streak," she said, smiling at Salis.
"As for the Spirit World...I don't exactly know. That's what the kid called it, Lang I think his name was. I think it's sort of attached to this world...like a reflection or something...I don't know. I haven't had enough chance to study it. And yes, the being I am bound too is a kami. His name is Kryshyykilli'vkk." "Nor have I. I do know much about the spirit world where I come from. Here I regent to say everything is different. Even how they act is alien to me. It will take me sometime to learn enough about these spirits to know enough about them." He adds with a slightly depressed look. This look disappears once he looks toward Ori however.

Salis stays silent as he has nothing to add as of yet. He does however acknowledge Tyrrin and looks like he is interested in this conversation. When Ori took his hand he slightly glanced at her hand intermingling with his own.

Just a few days off of teaching and she was already bored out of her mind and desperate for something to do. Grading papers seemed almost fun in contrast to this. Almost. There's comes a rapping at the chamber door. Ori jumped up, opening the door quickly. She had clearly done something to her usually loose robes designed to hide every inch of skin possible. She had cut them and belted them so that they had instead become a figure flattering dress. Except that all the cut ends were ragged. She was a wizard not a seamstress.
"Good morning." Salis was still getting used to company for years he had spent time in a silent monastery. Although their was others barely a word was spoken out side of lessons to the brethren. All he had was his books to accompany him. Even during his times of adventuring much of his group would rush off to do there own thing and leave him to his writings. He never learned to entertain guests or carry on conversation. He however had been enjoying her being there with him even if a word wasn't spoken her very presence calmed something that had been struggling to be free.
Salis bare flinched at the rapping instead he slowly closed his book he had sitting beside his papers and stood up. He looked to Ori as he adjusted her cloths and was moving to the door. He gave her a smile and walked up to the door with her.

Just to make sure I haven't missed something. Has anyone decided to interact with Salis?
Figured I would ask instead of just assume.

Salis walks through the halls glad that nothing else major has happened to the school during the night. In his arms he holds a large book that he has been writing in as he makes his rounds. His expression was that of a man in deep thought. Though he seems absorbed in his writings with in he smoothly navigates his way through students rushing past toward the cafeteria.

In other words she would have tried to stay up and probably petered out sometime in the early morning hours. Just wondering since Salis usually skips a day of sleep or two. Especially with everything going on he would want to keeps a look out while people sleep.

unfortunatly the appraisal doesn't work becuase of numerous reasons. First being that he had rarly cared about money since most his life things were given to him order issued. And then only in the last few years has he started using money. On top of that reasorces and demand for things is vastly differnt than where he's from. Such as the elven wine him and Ori shared. He had no clue it was so hard to find. This becuase of a few reasons. Thus appraise doesn't really work.
Professions beyond soldier, guild leader, and monk which are represented differnt places, except guild leader (which I'm not really sure how to represent that.), within the character.
Crafts for the most part doesn't encompass things he can make. Such as medication. Which actually is covered in knowledge nature for herbology. Books are covered in lingustics. Ink he never has made it. He doesn't know how to make alchemy stuff, weapons, armor, or anything else metal.
So mainly just having trouble finding things not already covered somewhere else of that the origanal char had or could have learned while I played him.

"I believe you are correct about the spirits power, but we shouldn't use it first. It should be used as a last resort. Besides the children probably trust you more as they know you. So they would probably listen to you more than myself. I'm also a great distraction." As they ran he flipped the satchel on his side open as though he was ready to pull something out. "Where would the student go during a lockdown? I have not been briefed about emergencies like this." Salis was obviously worried for the students knowing that the school probably didn't have any contingencies for such events.
male Elf Image gestalt: A: 6 scholar / 14 inquisitor. B: 8 monk / 2 pathfinder chronicler / 10 ninja.
Salis shoots up from the bed he and Ori had been resting in. "Lockdown!? The wards are down!?" He slips out from the covers, revieling his powerful body. One would never expect to see as many rippling muscle upon his frame. Only one small scar marrs his skin, on his shoulder. After slipping his pants on he moves to kiss Ori. "I'll check the hall while you get ready. Unless I'm scouting I believe it would be best to stay together. So I shall wait for you just out in the hall." Quickly with amazing grace he dashes toward the exit, snatching up his satchel in the proccess.

She laughed as she looked at them both. "This was a bit messier than usual. We both look like we could use a shower..."
"...and yes, that is an invitation." He smiled to her. "Thank you for letting me know. I would have taken it as calling it a day otherwise." Gently he places his hand upon her cheek. "I think I will except your invitation under one condition... That we cuddle after words."

Salis walks around looking over the room. "It is a very productive facility. I can see you put much hard work in your craft." He told her as he picked up one of the tools she uses and notes the wear upon it.

Anyways, those are totally different wards than the school wards. You're comparing apples and kumquats."
He shakes his head no. "No the planetary wards I have no confusion over. I appeared in the gym of Avalon. It seems my arrival ended a furious snowball fight. It was lucky there were some students with the ability to understand me."

"Oh! Is that what you meant? No, that's not trusting the students at all. Most of them she doesn't trust in the slightest. That's trusting the wards, which short of actual deific interference, and not just demigod either....this by the way is why the wards don't protect anyone against me when Kryshyykilli'vkk gets all rampagey...technically he's a god I think sort of although extremely limited and location specific and not a very powerful one....relatively speaking. At least that's what my research suggests so far. Anyways, back on topic, short of deific interference the wards would prevent the students from forming an effective lynch mob on campus. As soon as they started to attack with intent to do violence, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop...off to detention they go. Usually in a situation like that it's safe to concentrate your efforts on the students at the center of the situation without worrying too much about the others. And it's usually worth a few extra moments to make sure you round up everyone involved before moving the discussion to a less public location. It takes forever to round people up to answer questions if you don't and really, it's just not worth the trouble. And sometimes it's better to just go ahead and have it out in public. Nothing stops a witch hunt before it starts like a big public airing of actual facts. It's the getting people to hold off on the attacking long enough to get to the fact-sharing that can be difficult, and...
"It some what explains things, but I have never been one to trust in only one thing. Even when I adventured I trust multiple people to do one task rather than sending only one person. It seems reckless to expect the wards to protect the students all the time. My arrival actually is an example to this, at least from Ryo's explanation of the wards. The wards protect from extra-dimensional travel, which would include extra-universal." He talks of his arrival as though it is an ill-omen. "So I am a little couscous of the wards. They are a useful protection. One that I feel is invaluable to this place, but putting all my trust in it not failing seems foolish to me." He explains knowing that Ori probably didn't know he arrived.

Heck, she doesn't even let her fellow teachers know her first name." "Hmm. When I met her she seemed to have more trust than most would with the student bodies ability to stay calm on there own. I have seen many cases of witch hunts started much the same manner as what happened at that party. At least it's good to know that it is more a situation of I'm new to her rather than her trusting fully in the student body to handle it's own affairs with no fault. I am sure that many of the students are very capable, but it is our job to give guidance and from time to time step in to calm situations."

And Miss Jones says she's never going drinking with me again. But I have a terrible feeling there's more to the story than that....nothing truly awful. That's why I didn't go alone. I know I'm a lightweight when it comes to alcohol. But probably plenty embarrassing."
He quickly reached out to her to make sure she was fine. Once he knew she was he started to chuckle slightly. "No I haven't spoken with him. Or any current bartender for that matter. From the sounds of it it may be a good experiment." He teased. "I believe I have met Miss Jones. She seemed competent, but not much trust in he fellow co-workers. She seemed to have much trust in her students however. I have had to learn to trust those I travel with first before those we work with. If I didn't trust in the competency of them many of our adventures would have ended in tragedy." He sighed slightly. "I do hope she learns to trust my competency in the future. Salis smirked. "Oh I don't know I think there is plenty more I could learn and would love to learn. There's are plenty of experiments that could be explored. Like maybe the effects of of these jello shot things, I have heard about, upon a vigorous woman such as yourself. That can wait till later however, as I am sure we both need to regain our energy."

"I can show you my workshop if you want. It's attached to my room for easy access. It's fairly large...well, it has to be really."
"I shall do that and I would love to see your work shop. I have yet to see the process even though I use so much. I belive it would be interesting to see." He stops and thinks for a second before continueing. "Huh. I haven't even opened a book today. Let alone gathered a bit of data." He ponders this for a moment. "This is most intriguing to me. You seem to have triggered much change in my mind. Normally my first thought about seeing a process done is to learn about it. This time it was more a reason to be with you." She put the pieces of folded paper away. "Waste not, want not...can't let perfectly good spell components go to waste...really, I can't. It's...sort of an agreement between myself and the nature spirit. I actually make my own paper every fall out of the leaves that fall off the trees. It's easier here. I have an agreement with Professor Agave that most of them are delivered to me...she needs some of them for the compost piles of course. Anyways, I can also use fallen branches or already dead trees if I need. And of course I can recycle any other paper I get my hands on...I keep a bin in my classroom to collect papers after the students are done with them. But even so, I can't exactly afford to waste spell components given how much work I have to put into replacing them and the limited materials I have to work with."
He grins at her comment about the arrows. After she told him about making her how paper his grin became alook of amazement. "How do you find the time? Doesn't making paper take around a week for each batch?"
After letting her reply to his question He continued. "It's a great thing that you don't waste paper. I probably am the most wasteful monk ever. Seeing as I have filled volues of books with nothing but notes. If you wish I would be happy to give you my papers that are to be desposed of. Curently I do have there books of notes that had already been reviewed and considered. The information I doubt would make a good book."

"Your world is so different and yet not so different....it's fascinating how that could even be possible."
Sadly this is close to the background story of the system he came from. Just reworded in Salis's words.
He smiled to her. "It is quite remarkable. I believe it is because my home multi-verse was created an entity that took beings from other multi-verses to fight it's wars. After it's defeat the way to connect the other worlds has been lost. Like this one there are many's planes and dimensions in mine. Created by these entities. My belief is that my kind were stolen from here. From there everything evolved differently, such as our languages. There were similarities between my and the language that dragons use here. It was partly why it was easier for me to learn these languages. There were some the varied greatly however. Common was a vastly new concept to me. In the world I come from there was no trade tongue just regional languages. It made traveling rough if you didn't learn many different languages." Salis slowly takes a drink of water.
He continues after finishing his drink. "There are other races there. That don't exist here. There are some races distantly related but not close enough to be conceived as them. One being the Wolven much like the shifter of this world but they have much more of wolf like traits, nor can they shift at all. There form is set. One of the main characters in my book you read was one of these. So this leads me to believe there are other multi-verses beyond my home and here." He smiled to Ori before saying. "I'm sorry if my explanation is a bit boring. It's all a bit complicated and much of this knowledge took much studying to learn before a came here."

"Umm...do you mean sucessor? Doesn't a predecessor come before? Well, I understand how it goes. I mix up my words sometimes too....usually only in the most publicly humiliating settings though. The infamous lecture on how to 'constrict' wards still haunts me to this day," she joked.
"Yes I believe it maybe a little hard on him or her to travel there. Traveling from one dimension to another would be simple compared to were I'm from. Both myself and the headmaster Ryo have many questions about how I arrived and how my home and this place are connected. It's possible I will never find out how they are connected. I have my theories however."
Oops :S Can't believe I mixed those up. Oh well easily explained.
His face reddens slightly realizing his mistake. "I'm sorry. I must have misused a word. I have only learned this language in the last 3 months. Along with a few others. So I guess this is something to expect from time to time."

"I used to feel a bit self-conscious at meal times...and then I got to see how the dragons eat...what I eat is nothing in comparison to them."
"So....are there any other vows I should know about, or have we pretty much covered all of them now?"
He smirked a bit at her question. "Well there was one other, that went with the no meat. It was a vow to never wield an item of war. Which included armor, knives of any kind, and many other items. I have left that vow behind with the vow of pacifism. I still don't wear armor however. It just to restricting for my movements. In the end it's more a hindrance than a boon."
He slightly pats the satchel on his side while he continues. "I do use weapons when the time to use such comes. Though my bow seems to have lost it's connection with it's source of magic when I arrived here. It was my first observation that magic seems to have a different source here. It is my goal that someday I could recreate the source and bring it back to my homeland. This however is probably only a dream. Instead it will more likely be some predecessor that is able to fulfill this dream." He tells her almost seeming relived at the mention of a predecessor.
Slowly he took her hand in to his and gently kissed it. "Though it is my goal to bring a new source to my homeland. I think I have attachments here that would prevent me from living there permanently like I did before." He reassured her of him not wanting to leave her.

She kissed him back and then forced herself to pull away, smiling up at him.
"There are no real guidelines for how to be in a relationship with someone. I think we have to just figure it out as we go. Although you have definitely mastered flattery," she added with a grin. "And no, it's not about appearance. Not exactly. My robes are made to hide my figure to the point where they're ridiculously big on me and I realized that it was not really necessary anymore. And these clothes are...not really classroom appropriate, among other things. So I need something in the middle."
As they sat down to eat she eyed his junior sized salad and compared it to her plate with a grilled cheese a large bowl of chili and several shrimp shish kebabs and a salad easily twice the size of his and raised an eyebrow. "Okay, I have to ask....is it an elf thing or a monk thing or a special just to you thing? Because you... He looks over his small bowl and smiles at her. "I believe it is a monk thing. Monks of my order were trained to be able to go with out food for long periods. Part of that is keeping our food intake low so that our body stays able to coop. Once a month however we always gorge our selves. So to replenish what the body needs. One never really knows when one will be without, and I have a habit of skipping meals for multiple days." He slightly shrugs at the end of his reply.
He looks at his salad and continues. "Of course monks of my order took a vow also to never eat meat but that to is something I do once a month. I do however understand that vow and it does hold true here as well as the place I come from. A respect for all life. I just have decided if it has already been made it is disrespectful to let it sacrifice be in vain, and bacon taste great." HE tells her as calm as ever.

:S I so hope too. I know I didn't think about protection. Stupid me I should have listened to the nurse telling a student about it. :(

"Mmm. You get once. Just don't ever accuse me of being a prostitute again," she said with a smirk.
She finished pulling on her clothes, which was rather difficult considering how tightly they fit her. "I really need to go shopping," she muttered.
"I'm glad," she added in a more serious tone. "That this was special for you, that I didn't actually mess things up...I may have confidence issues when it comes to relationships," she added with a small smile to show that she was being a bit sarcastic and was well aware of her issues. "Which we can talk about after we get back to the school...and get some food. I don't know about you, but I'm starving."
Salis smiled to her. Please accept my apologizes. I didn't mean to insinuate that you were a prostitute. I guess I'm just unsure of where things should go now."
If you do not feel comfortable in your cloths then I guess it would be for the best. Although if you believe that it is they do not become you, I tell you now that anything upon you would make the gods jealous." He slid his palm across her cheek and leaned in to kiss her.
He simply nodded to her wish to continue inside while getting food. His mind was unclear about how things should go. obviously thing he had observed and read before did nothing to prepare his mind and nerve for this.
He took her hand as the made there way back toward the school. releasing once they made there way to the cafeteria. He took a salad for himself. It was a small salad much smaller than thinkable for some one of his stature. Ori may make note that most the meals he has eaten have been rather small. Nor does he seem to even think about eating often. He does however drink more water than normal.

"What?" She squeaked. "Have you completely lost your mind? Is that really the only way sex happens where you come from, as a transaction? Of course I don't want to be paid. And of course I want to see you again. Often. In varying states of dress....or undress....which I am trying not to think about too much at the moment as I really think we should get back to the school before dark and keeping my libido in check is clearly a problem for me."
She put her hands on the side of his face to make sure he was looking at her while she spoke. "You did nothing wrong. You...this...was amazing. Honestly. I just....I feel like I let you down. Like I didn't make this special enough. Because it is. Special. You are special. And I...should have done more to show you how special you are to me." Salis place his own hand upon hers. "I'm glad that you enjoyed it as much as me, but there is no way this could be anymore special. He have had our time here in nature. Just you and me, shaded by your magic." He slow stood from his position smiling to her and offering her a hand up.
"As for sex as a transaction. I am sure there were other ways like this but those I traveled with only did it through transaction. I didn't think... Maybe that is why I said it. I wasn't thinking or perhaps I was thinking to much. I think I am rambling now." He smiled to her hoping to lighten the mood. That he had darkened with his original comment.

"What in the...?"
"Oh, gods, I've screwed everything up again, haven't I? I'm so sorry. I should have...planned better...waited longer....something...you deserved better than a ....paper tent in the woods your first time...."
"We should go back...blast it, where did I toss my pants?"
Salis looked at her with a sad and confused eyes.
"Did I do something wrong? Deserve better that being in Nature with you? Should we have done this in a Brothel? I don't understand. Is there something wrong. Is it I haven't paid? I didn't think you wanted to be paid." He passes her the pants that had some how ended up on the other side of him. He slipped his robe on his heart had sank. He didn't understand what he had done wrong to get such a reaction from Ori. It was probably over before it had really begun is all he could think. "You don't want to see me again do you?" He asked while hanging his head.

She nodded, not quite trusting her voice at that moment. She reached into the bag she always carried slung over her shoulder and pulled out a pile of paper that flew from her hands forming a dome shaped tent around them. "The, uh, paper mage's version of tiny hut...much better privacy," she added with an impish grin. "If you want to stop just say so and we will...otherwise...." She drew his close for another kiss.
And fade to black. How far things get is up to Salis, but really anything past make-out session is fade to black. :)
Still trying to decide how far he would let it go. Plenty of reasons on both sides of the coin.

"I don't really do the whole casual relationship thing," she said with a wry smile. "It's why I tried so hard not to have anything to do with love again. I've given my heart, and the rest of me to go with it, twice before, and gotten it back in pieces both times as it turned out that both of them were only interested in my body and really couldn't have cared less about the rest. That fear you're talking about...I am intimiately familiar with it. I am absolutely terrified of going through that again. There's a part of me that keeps telling me to get away while I still can. But somehow you keep getting through my defenses like they're not even there and I....well, it scares me how fast I've fallen for you. I don't want to make the same mistake again. So ...yeah, I get that. I may not be good at patient, but I'm working on it. You...
Listening to her story Salis pulls her close passonatly kissing her. She could feel every ounce of his want for her pour out with this kiss.
Once the kiss ended he whispered in her next. "If you wish to move faster it's ok. If you wait for me I'm afraid I may not know what to do next and our feelings may become stagnet."

It took her a few seconds to get her brain working again. "You have nothing to apologize for. You definitely had permission, even if I didn't say it out loud...I...." she blushed bright red, the blush traveling down her chest and even across her exposed belly. "I desire you. A great deal. I'm....trying to be patient and let things develop at the pace you're comfortable with. I'm....not always good at patient," she added, biting her lip.
"I don't know what speed I would be comfortable with. My body yerns for your embrace and yet my mind wishes to make sure our time is more than a night in a brothel like I have seen so many times my traveling companions do. Between the battle waged my heart seems to hold both fear and excitment about you. I don't even know how to decide which part of me to listen to." His expression holds much confusion he doesn't attempt to looks away. "I do not believe our time together will be as two strangers in passing but the thought that once we have moved forward your feeling will change bares down upoj my heart." Slowly he places a hand over his heart.

She laughed, surprised by the sheer honesty of his words. His lack of pretensions was certainly a large part of his charm. She slid her arms around his neck, giving in to the temptation to play with his hair. It was such beautiful hair. "Yeah, that's what I mean," she admitted, blushing again when his hand against her back brushed up against bare skin since her top left her midriff bare. "I find you very distracting." She kissed him lightly on the lips, not completely able to avoid temptation, but still trying to be good.
When her lips touched his a surge of energy shot through him. He hadn't realized how much he wanted feel her lips embracing his. He looked into her eyes as the kiss ended. All his thoughts of anything else bled away as his thoughts filled with his desire for her. His body was starting to lose control to his desires. Slowly his hand slid up the small of her back. Where he pulled her closer so he could press his lips to here.
After a moment that seemed an eternity. He pulled away from her. "I'm sorry I should have asked permission."
