Once you've done /everything/ here, let's see what's next.
(It's a restruraunt. With poor service.)
(Reference to dr. Mic ninja. And i don't think any of you are immortal, so i don't think you'll take offense.)

So wile waiting for Lynora to come back I built the other half of Carl's gestalt,
Carl can't read magic, dos not use spells, dos not how a clue how to use magic items, he had no PSI powers, He can't hit anything other than a rock for taffy,
he is a mega rock smashing warlock who has a load of powers and ability's that he dos not truly understand,
"I was just born this way",
understanding just what he is, is the main focus for him being at the school, that and leaning more about mining of course.
If there is ever going to be a "Champion of Mining" its going to be Carl
But I'm not holding my breath on that one.

Not missing asked for a brake from us, so gameplay on hold with PMs to her as well.
We have been cheating here for fun until she has time for us again,:)
This brings to mind a thought....
When gameplay resumes... DON'T flood the board with posts.... Lynn will probably be posting for about 2 hours to catch up...
GM Capt Wombat |
Good point DK and think about it LF2, 40+ PMs from players to Lynora soon as she gets on, and I bet some are long and involved, as players have had time to think about even more plot arks to add to the game. Lynora did comment on the fact their was a few to many all ready. This PM storm will swamp her just as large numbers of game posts would, so how about a hold on PMs as well.

Day 3,
Its a little cold, but that's to be expected. Its only 8 hours past midnight and it is a month of change from the heat to the cold.
Really, its the wait. I *know* there's going to be some fighting today, as people just can't handle reality.
Thankfully, I have found a sanctuary from the madness, a haven from the chaos. I will be hunkered down there all day, till the storm passes. They say it'll rage for about 10 hours, then slowly die down

(Even magic that eats other magic...)
You can't stop this...
Trust me.
Haha, actually the chimes end all magic in the world... sorcerers wizards druids clerics
All supernatural powers, extraordinary powers, and special abilities fail
Even the magic of the headmaster stops...
The chimes would end all life in the plane....

A fighter tromping through a barrage of spells, nothing but his own hardy endurance and willpower, his training he spent all those gruelling hours upon days upon years on paying off as he just. Keeps. Going. Ignoring the power that by all rights should have erased his soul. Shattering the boulder falling from up high with a single stroke of his sword. Walking through the burning oil and crossing the acid pits thrown up by his opponent in a desperate attempt to stall him. Climbing the mountain and shattering the magical walls of force that guard the citadel there. At it's heart, slice open the final gate that leads to beyond reality itself, to face down the man that evoked his wrath. Breaking through the illusion that tries to blind him to the truth, the truth in the form of the man responsible for the deaths of his wife and children. The man he once called friend.
"How?" the wizard asked, not understanding. The blade flashes, a head rolls, and the fighter turns ready to leave, his quest done. Yet, he stops once right before leaving the room.
"While you were learning the first words of the arcane, I was training. While you were meddling with the secrets of the deeper universe, I was training. While you were divining the streams of fate, I. Was. Training. I did not know what for until I found them. Dead. Dead by your hand, misguided as it was. All my life I have dedicated myself to the art of combat, the art of becoming stronger, faster, or simply better at killing the one in my way. In a way that made me envious of you. I can only destroy where you could build. Yet for some reason although you called me the fool for dedicating myself to the art of destruction, it was you, who dedicated himself to the art of creation, that destroyed so much more than I ever have."

Then who would want to be waizard?
Balance is key.
Fighters are underpowered, but if they were to the point where they ignored all magic, then they would be overpowered.
There is no fix except a entire system rework, and no-one wants that.
Though, i do think they need good will saves...

Thats because they use hand weapons, now give the fighter a BFG Plasma Cannon with a 2km range, and we will see how long the Mage lasts.

Meh, a fighter has his strength... mainly dealing the most (consistent) single target damage in the game.
Wizards are bursty - generally their single target damage is weak compared to a fighter of the same level, and save-or-die spells are unreliable, especially at higher levels since saves scale up faster than save DCs.
This makes wizards a utility/support class to me.
(Also, Wombat, there's no reason a Wizard couldn't train to use that Plasma cannon ;P)

agreed, but wizards have more plot power than fighters, heck rogues have more plot powers than fighters
if it isn't killable by the fighters weapons he's SOL
