Game Master lynora

This is a high level rules light game set in a school for magical kids, kinda a mash-up of Soul Eater, Harry Potter, and X-Men. :)

ITryko'Sam lifts an eyebrow at the hefted weapon, and adds, "Uh... okay. That's crazy big. We should ... slow down and talk this through. No half cocked stuff here."

Glancing back at the unconscious girl, he then seems to relax a touch adding, "So long as she's okay-- and safe, that's key here." His priority made clear.

"Ok, so now you don't wanna kill cultists?"

Being ushered out by the firm nurse, Tryko'Sam was going to reply, but got interrupted.

Once standing in the hallway with the other three, Casseus, Jeran and Vickory, unless someone left, he takes a moment to glance around, taking off some of his 'wizard' garb.

He chuckles.

"Look, devil man, I'm pretty sure, killing, isn't what I intend, but a good scaring is in order. I'm relatively new to this world- there's no police, or town guards, I can see yet, or Feds (whatever that means). Just those huge mechs in Kuros, who are ... I dunno, private agents? So I'm trying to help out as best as I understand, make sense? How much time before we get pulled into detention for skipping first class on day one around here?"

He glances around, half expecting the walls to reach out and grab him for suggesting such.

"I bet someone's monitoring us, huh? I really shouldn't just jump into a situation without thinking more," he unrepentantly laments. That most likely will happen again, given his expression and tone.

"We able to find a place of privacy to talk this out? I got self study for an elective..." He grins at that thought.

I predict another earthquake. It shall be dubbed "Rena-quake"

"Name's Casseus. You don't scare cultists, man. You kill them. How are you gonna scare people who sacrifice young girls just to get a glimpse of some horror from Hell or the Abyss? But yeah, we can talk. Got gunsmithing after lunch. When's your self study period?"

Glancing about in the hallway, Tryko'Sam contemplates the wall briefly to the left of him, before looking back to Casseus.

"Call me Tryko'Sam. Nice to meet ya. Okay, so .. Cultist." He takes a beat, "Killing."

One might note that his expression and posture are completely neutral at this point as he seems to consider his next words.

"My self study is ...as far as I can tell, whenever I want. Didn't think the classes are set in their blocks, as much as, get them done during the day. Hmmm... I figure we have a few minutes, right? Let me debrief you folks on the situation up to this point, then you can figure out whether you," he gives Jeran a glance, then to Vickory, perhaps for dramatic reasons, "are still on board."

Tryko's Debrief:

Taking in a breath, apparently indicating this could take a bit, Tryko'Sam speaks of his past hour or so.

"So, where too start? After spending too much time keeping busy, I realized it was morning and did some ...looking around. In my surveying, I happened on this scene right out of the movies. Girl, kneeling and in her white outfit, with some freaky robed guy, chalice in hand, knife in another, blathering some s!&# that didn't really make sense. I wasn't doing audio just yet, but, long story shorter-- I jumped in, grabbed the girl while they were surprised, and booked."

He doesn't seem bothered by interrupting any private ceremony, in case someone's paying attention.

"The real issue, I guess, was whether that was something I should be doing, or not, but, die cast and all that noise. She clearly could understand me, but I couldn't understand her-- figured some magic s#@~ was going on, and before we had time to get to the thanks for saving her, or whatever, some guys came searching for us."

He pauses again, his ability to keep attention and sheer presence starting to pour from him at this point, natural leader due to his charisma. "Needless to say-- those guys weren't talking sorts either. Least, nothing I said made sense to them, but their pointy sticks and swords made plenty to me. Plus they had these tiger like things, with three inch claws? Suckers were fast, eight legs, long teeth, orange and green? Odd."

He shrugs, off handedly blowing off the threat, continuing, "So, distraction one in effect happens, we bail some more, cause the girl clearly was either taken in by my heroics, or just stunned by all of it. I mean, she didn't scream yet-- that's a good sign. We had about another five minute break, she was clearly trying to ask me things, which ... wasn't sure if she wanted to kiss me, or slap me, I get that a lot," he digresses, eyeing folks as he does, "before-- again, these f$+!ers come running along. Now at this point, considering the distance I've moved, it's kinda surprising that they are keeping up, not impossible mind you, but, yeah. Definitely some sort of magic going on."

With a glance back towards the Cafeteria, "So, this time, I push the girl elsewhere, staying with the possess, since they were same crew from the first jump, and we scuffle. I dodge and weave," he gets into the tale now, moving a bit with it, "before I pop back to the garden outside. Guess I homed in on the familiar, cause cat man was there with that hotty. There's puking, I came rudely, crack a joke or two, she bailed. Cat guy is a tailor, highly recommended by the way, so I figure, I'm going to head back as a powerful wizard. I get some props, make to go, didn't want to get cat man involved, he seemed distracted or something-- plus, I don't know, doesn't seem the aggressive type given his policy on weapons. Maybe he's a thief, too, dunno. Probably not, seems legit. Uh, yeah, so ... boom, I'm back with the girl, and ... I swear to Christ, another freakin' posse shows up, only this time, not human in any shape or form. What's worse, they aren't the talking types."

He goes on to explain a few more fights and running aways, eventually leading up to where he runs into Jeran, "...since, at this point, something had to give. I didn't really know where else to go and it was clear they were able to track either her or me. She wasn't weighing me down, but she was weighing me down-- so to speak."

Folding his arms on his chest, he looks at the reactions of the three with him after the speech and says, "And now, here we are. I'm no good with magic, but there's a whole city in the cliffs with these cult types. I don't know how deep it is, or if it's everyone there. Brain is telling me nuke strike from orbit, but, gut says that's not the way to go. Color me confused." He certainly seems neutral, though he goes glance once briefly at the huge pistol again, before looking back up.

"I remember dealing with idiot ...bad guys, but that's greed and power hungry talking. The real psychopaths? That's always a trouble-- was a troublesome situation. Sometimes it's not their fault they are insane, so do you put a bullet in their head? or help?"

He waits and watches, clearly seeing what people's emotions are in reaction to his tale, gauging the three with him. The scrutiny cannot be dismissed as anything but... consideration of their feelings, if displayed.

Fei's quick action to subtly keep some distance from her gives Rena a moment's pause as she stops short, frowning slightly. He really was beautiful, even more so that Bradley. She could almost feel his grace and power through his careful movements and respectful bow. Rena tries to mimic the motion, a perhaps ill-advised course of action given the rather short skirt she's wearing (and she now has the full attention of several young men seated behind her). Her wings splay out slightly as she bows, perhaps in an effort to ensure balance. One of Rena's admirer's whistles appreciatively, but Rena fails to notice it, or doesn't understand what it means.

"Erm... no, not really. I was just wondering if you'd like to have sex later today? There's probably not enough time before class." she says, completely straight-faced. Though there is a hint of blush about her features, she's clearly not embarrassed at all by what she just suggested.

I feel so, so sad for Bradley right now.... (;_;)

The light levels in the Cafeteria seem to increase a bit, and the machinery in the kitchens start running a bit more....energetically. There is also the faintest 'thrumming' sensation in the floor for some reason.

"Ummmm.......what....I...do not believe we have even met before?" are the first words that come out of the young monk's mouth, his mind racing to determine proper decorum in the face of the most unorthodox question he has been asked in recent memory... ;P

Fei's gi begins to have a slight 'shimmer' to it, or perhaps it is a slight bit of motion. It is difficult to tell at distance.

Mel was sitting with her friends (Tybs, and Dave) when there is a change in light levels. Mel glances up then in a casual glance around the room she sees Fei talking to a girl.

this garners her attention. Excuse me for a moment please she says to Tybs and Dave as she gets up pulling out her sonic device.

with a flick of the wrist it opens up and she adjust the settings.

she approaches the conversation but does keep enough of a distance to not really intrude.

Rena cocks her head a little to the side at that, a slightly confused expression on her face. "I thought we could use it as a fun way to get to know each other. My name is Rena."

At a nearby table, a young man within earshot of the conversation coughs in an odd way, and Fei's pretty sure he heard the word "Slut!" laced into the cough. Again, Rena doesn't seem perturbed.

Tybalt gives a short nod-bow and smile accompanied by, "see ya around," when Fei goes to leave.

When the electric thrum and lights happen, Tybalt inches in towards Dave as his ears fold back and he looks around, a little scared.

He nods when Melody leaves, still looking at what's going on.

"Feel free to give me those papers, and other than first period I'm probably good to go back to work...I just have to get official approval first. I'll talk to the Headmaster about it today and hopefully by tomorrow at the latest I'll be back on the job," she said optimistically.

"Have you make significant progress with your... ahem... passenger?" Tyrrin asks, curious. She knew that she had left that to the side momentarily, but it had been a very busy week.

"Well, he's quieter right now. We're tied together, so when I'm happy he's less likely to rampage. But...there's still a lot to work on. He's literally trapped inside a cage in the spirit world and I don't know how to fix that. There was someone who was going to help me with that, but he's been busy. And...well, he's just a little kid. And the issues that have me...err...us...well, they're not little kid type of issues. So I'm not entirely sure how to solve the problem long term exactly. All I know at this point is that the bond can't actually be broken, so we're going to have to figure out some way to work together on things that don't involve flattening buildings."

As the croup of firebirds disappears into the school, any looking back might see a very small speck clearing the horizon.

Alys takes a deep breath as the school appears on the horizon, and her grip on the small bundle at her side tightens. She takes a moment to force herself to relax, running through a relaxation technique from her childhood. Not much longer. Father always said Uncle Genosuke was one to trust with anything.

They headed out of the cafeteria and towards the infirmary. Raelle glared at Tryko'Sam as they passed the group of boys talking outside the infirmary, but didn't stop to talk, determined to ignore them and go check on Morrivan.

"End SIM," she said firmly as she walked into the SIM room where Ace had just gotten his butt very thoroughly kicked.

"Would you like a hand up?" she asked, standing over him as the wounds from the simulation faded along with it. "You lasted fifteen minutes and forty five seconds before you were overwhelmed. Not bad, but not exactly impressive either. You had a lot of boom to start, but not so good at playing the long game. Something for you to work on," she said, holding out a hand to help him up. Jeran looks thoughtful as he digests all of the information.

"Well, I think what we need here is more information. We won't get in much trouble for skipping class once. It's when you make a pattern of it that they start handing out detention. But we can get a teacher to excuse us for something like this. Oh, and classes are supposed to be in a fixed block, but I guess you could work out some kind of rotating schedule if you needed to. But you'll need to talk to all of your teachers about that. Back to the actual point, we need more information. We need some kind of magical or technical translator. We can't figure out the appropriate response until we have more information. If it's a whole village full of evil cultists, then a tactical strike from orbit might be just the thing. And I'm pretty sure the boss would let me take the mech out for that, provided I got a lesser restoration cast on me first. I was on duty all night last night after the disaster in Kuros. Umm...yeah, we're not exactly free agents. So far it's an experimental program, just two of us pilots, and we answer to Jiminy Sunwake. He's looking to expand the program though. It's more about planetary security than anything else, although we sometimes handle crises on the ground too. But mostly our job is dealing with any Imperial ships that get too close. Because sooner or later there's going to be a lot of them. They want to wipe out this whole planet..long story, for another time. Point is, the mechs are better designed for space combat than on the ground, plus, the trouble with evil cultists is that they have this nasty habit of living around a bunch of non-evil people who have no idea about their neighbors nasty hobbies if even half of the stories I've heard are to be believed. And we don't want to be killing a bunch of innocent people. So it might require us to deal with things in a more personal manner...and until we find out more about the place, we can't know how to plan. So I would suggest we ask a teacher for help...my suggestion is we ask the head of security cause she has the most access to resources, but really any teacher will do. Then we find some translation magics so we can communicate and then we try and talk to the girl once she comes around. Or if she's not feeling like talking we can scout out this place again, but it should be a lot easier if we can understand what people are saying," he said, his manner confident. He's not a natural leader per se, but definitely a good organizer of people and resources.

"Follow me to the office where we'll get you all through the enrollment paperwork in time to get you to first period class. Anyone under twelve will be going to the elementary school. We'll have someone come and escort you over there. For the rest of you, in the high school you'll have six class periods every day. You will be required to take PE...it stands for physical education. It's important to keep fit in order to be healthy. You may choose up to five other classes depending on your interests, or you can keep one free period for working on homework or other projects if you like. Please ignore the insanity on the way...you'll have plenty of time to participate in it after this, but paperwork first," he said as he led the group through the hallway towards the office.

"Primarily planetary defense, yeah. And no, no transforming into a ship. That would defeat the purpose. The mechs are small and maneuverable in ways that ships can't be, and while the shape isn't terribly aerodynamic, it does allow for a unique connection between pilot and mech that allows for a different type of space combat, one that the Empire isn't prepared to counter yet. "Technically, Jiminy isn't part of the school, but his family runs it. His mom is the head of security. That's part of why I thought of her. Bottom line is, when you have people like this, they need to be put down like dogs, before they can bite again. Just my two cents."

"Giant ro-whats?" He says when the robots are mentioned.

"Well, hell, man. If you can fly around and blow them all up, that's great. End 'em all with one push of a button! But what if there are other dames in distress in there? Will they get cooked too?"

he'll tag along, unless there are objections.

Better to get that out now than have an argument about it later."

"Alright, come on then. Professor Sunwake should be in her lab. That's where you can usually find her."

Smirking, Tryko'Sam snarkily says, "Or be possessed and hogtied into some holding cell against your will-- that works too." Clearly a touch bitter.

After a second, he adds, "That was snarky, sorry. Sore subject. I hate being held, and labs... at least..." He trails off, dropping the subject in thought.

A motion later indicating Jeran lead on.

Shrugging and then saying somewhat neutrally, "If might makes right, that's no proper justification. Is it? I'm not even sure if I care... this is confusing." There's just the barest 'ache' in his voice when he dwells on this.

After a bit, he adds for Casseus, "Like your gun, but bigger, driven from within, and lots more bad ass guns, or what not. Technology, I suppose-- especially if you get out into space." This is after the robot question.

He'll tag along too.

My wife and I ended up staying on as teachers. I find it to be an interesting challenge."

Musing on what was shared, Sven falls into foot steps behind Sorchan in consideration and silence.

He'll tag along quietly for now, having nothing else to ask after that.

Tybalt looks up at Dave from where he was now leaning against him, a subconscious bid for protection from the somewhat frightening happenings.
He silently sets a paw on Dave's arm putting enough force in it to be noticed, but still being gentle, then as that hopefully pulls him out of the angry thoughts, he puts his arms around Dave's chest, under his arms and then just above his wings. He gently tucks his forehead into Dave's shoulder. He still says nothing, hoping to be comforting to him, and show that he is still loved, even if not by Raelle.

Ardiente looks a touch confused at Raelle's reaction to Tryko'Sam, but his mouth is full, so he just gives a small wave as they pass.

He swallows once their inside, mostly done with his breakfast in the short walk - for all his bravado he had eaten quite ravenously. Probably hasn't taken the best care of himself these past few days.

Ardiente scans the room, looking for Morrivan, and his hand goes to take Raelle's gently.

Totally missed this, sorry FireclawDrake.

Tryko'Sam, before Ardiente's lady friend scowled at him, gave a warm up nod greeting and smile at his passing.

Kim smiles and goes to pet the dog, it gives a growl to Kim sensing something about Kim that is unnatural.

Kim backs her hand away maybe he doesn't like me

Forgot to mention, the "dog" is actually an eidolon. It has a mark on its side, and she wears a bandana. Does that change anything?

not sure, but for sake of story lets say no, the ediolon is probably trying to be as normal of a dog as possible anyway.

Nodding, somewhat distractedly at some inner thought process, Tryko'Sam appears to agree with the 'rabid animal' comment-- or guns and flying.

At this point, however, he is quiet and lost in thought if anyone pays attention while they walk towards the Head of Security's lab.

Without much fanfare, Raelle and Ardiente are directed to Morrivan's room, with a gentle reminder that to leave her be if she needs rest.

Ardiente hesitated slightly at the door to her room, glancing at Raelle. "Should I wait out here? I honestly don't know her well, and I didn't really know your friends either." Ardiente says gently, squeezing Raelle's hand again. "But I'll come if you want me there, and if not I'll be out here waiting."

You may come in sir, I think seeing more friends will be good for her she says to Ardiente as she escorts him in the room.

but please be a little quiet, she did have a very trying night. I have excused her from classes for today.

"Perhaps we then know whom to thank for his current... satiation." Tyrrin replied, and while her tone was still fairly dry, she wasn't trying to hide the smirk on her face, and another not-subtle glance at Salis. Clearly she thinks she's quite hilarious.

After a moment she becomes more serious, her acedemic side demanding the reins for a while. The smirk fades away. "So, I'm not quite sure what this 'Spirit World' is... some Plane or Demiplane? Does this mean that our hypothesis regarding it being a kami was correct?"

Fei's reputation of occasionally being a terror to behold cows the rude student, and he picks up his lunch tray and stalks off to another part of the cafeteria. He does sneak an appreciative glance at Rena's backside though. Maybe he's just jealous that she didn't proposition him.

Rena on the other hand, seems not to take any offense and Fei's explanation, though at the mention that he's in a relationship, but that contact of any kind was pretty much impossible. She actually raises a hand to her mouth, obviously slightly shocked at that particular. "Oh, I'm sorry for putting you in an uncomfortable position then. You're just so... beautiful. But that's horrible! Not being able to touch, or be touched." Her emerald green eyes are shining slightly as she looks at Fei, empathy plain in every movement. "And that poor girl.. having you all to herself but not being able to... well. That's..." Apparently she has no filter, blurting exactly what she thought about that particular situation, though she fails to conjure a word to describe exactly what it was. "That's..."

"That's... really... um... romantic, actually." she finishes somewhat uncertainly, "Though I don't know how she can control herself around you. I know I wouldn't be able to."

"There's nothing quite like it...the speed and power and the way everything looks so small from out there..." his voice trails off as he is a bit embarrassed at this unintentional show of enthusiasm. He loved being a pilot, but he didn't need to start waxing poetic over it. "Umm...it's pretty awesome," he finished gruffly.
