Chronicles of the Divine

Hey, everyone! Luis Loza here!

Yivali Working, artist Ivan Koritarev : An image of the nosoi Yivali, a psychopomp that resembles a raven wearing a white mask. Yivali is in a library writing notes on a scroll with a quill. Other nosois fly around, cataloging scrolls and tomes.

Did you hear? Lost Omens Divine Mysteries is available now! The book is the best source for all things related to deities and the divine, featuring insights into the workings of divine power, new character options for characters of all kinds, and of course, details on the various gods of Golarion.

Speaking of gods, there were actually too many gods to fit in the book! Once you cover the core deities of the Inner Sea, other notable gods of the regions, demon lords, empyreal lords, monitor demigods, and the rest, it turns out your book is fully packed! Even with 328 pages, we didn’t have enough space for every god featured in Pathfinder Second Edition! Even with the many gods we’ve featured in the game so far, we didn’t want to leave some of you without an option to worship your favorite god under our remastered rules.

Luckily, Yivali, the psychopomp author of Divine Mysteries, is very thorough in her work and was able to collect a listing of all the gods she encountered in her research! If you wanted to know the sanctification for Balumbdar or needed to see if Ragdya’s favored animal is the monkey (it is), then this web supplement is for you. Any god that has been featured in Pathfinder Second edition so far is included here! The supplement also contains all of the gods featured in Divine Mysteries to help make this a convenient source for all things divine. We hope you enjoy the fruits of Yivali’s labors!

We tried our hardest to include every 2E god released up to this point, but if we're missing anyone or if any of the info seems wrong or contradictory, please let us know!

Happy gaming! :)

Oh heck yes!

And it looks like Rokoga Gin (from a side bar in War of Immortals) became a god afterall!

So that's who that is! It had been bugging me when I cought their name as I perused the list and found nothing in a google search.

I *very* much appreciate that this makes the table a single page rather than spread over two pages that could be hard to reference in a PDF

Yay, Yivali's back!

I don't see Kerkamoth (Monitor Demigod) listed anywhere, but I don't know if that's an oversight, or just really meta...

I think they're a playtest gunslinger made by one of the authors? There's an old reddit post about the character as a way of the drifter with a nunchuku and hand cannon.

Two things.

One, Zibik from book 3 of Wardens of Wildwood is missing.

Two, I've never heard of Cormigus, The Chime Above All, can't find any info on them, and they're apparently dead??? I wanted to worship the pigeon god and then noticed their section... :(

Heard this from discord, but basically Otolmen disappearing in War of Immortals is kinda meant to imply same happened to all Primordeal Inevitables.

Meta wise reason is that they are still inevitables and due to ogl removal they aren't going to show up, but the First Arbiter aeon demigods aren't 100% replacements despite all four of them being suspiciously close to four primordial inevitables that got removed.

Anyway, reason why they disappeared like that is that so its easy for GM to bring them back in home game even if they never show up in canon again.

Also heard from discord: Cormigus is inside joke about paizo livestream technical problems when chat started to joke about God of Sound having died.

But yeah Neshen has same edicts and anathema so that seems like error. Also slightly confused by some changes between previous PF2e deity statblock and post remaster for Zev, but I don't think that's error per say, just "Wait, Xulgath's can't use stealth now?"

We might have to wait until August to find out if Our Overlord The Chime is really dead, or just resting.

I'm disappointed Vavaalrav's symbol is still a Celtic cross, I was hoping it'd be updated to something not associated with an IRL religion. But the cheat sheet is really handy!

Awesooome! Thanks so much for releasing an even bigger and more complete list!

Spoilered below re: Erastil's family

Spoiler:
I was really happy that the fate of Cernunnos was addressed in Erastil's entry. Being a god of family and strong bonds, it makes sense why each offspring got their own full paragraph, and Erastil's reaction and stance also fits! While I'm not exactly gunning for it, it WOULD be really cool to see an AP or scenario that includes this development in some way where Erastil and Jaidi can properly mourn. Also, was alarmed to not see Halcamora among the Empyreal Lords, but also didn't see her under In Memoriam, so figured it was just an omission given how references to her via Erastil were in present tense. Happy to see her return in the supplement!

There are superscript foot note markers on entries like Ragathiel (t), Cong, some weapons and domains but the handout doesn't include the footnotes. I assume in Ragathiel's case it means "so cool we put him on the back cover."

*goes to start writing a few missing deities* Wait, no, 2e specifically.

Yeah, the cheat-sheet is nice, especially with the categories all laid out.

Those are at the very top of the document, right above the core gods.

I'm glad we now have stats for Zursvaater, who seems to be the closest Greatsword deity to having Edicts and anathema closest to Gorum. I don't like the idea of former Gorummites changing their ideals and fighting style after his death.

Interesting implications here: Immonhiel appears to be in the "Other Gods" section of the supplement rather than the Empyreal Lords where I'd have thought she'd been classified. If this isn't just an error because she was one of the featured divinities in the Quest for the Frozen Flame AP, then it appears she may have made the same jump Sarenrae did from "mere" Empyreal Lord to true goddess!

Nothing to Shamira, would have been interesting

I'm surprised. The Forsaken are here despite not being prominent in Netherworld as of now, but Velstrac Demagogue are absent even though they're more present (and even mentioned in War of Immortals).

And one Forsaken, the Widow, is missing. Though that's kind of expected

EDIT: Reading Lois's post, I guess Velstrac Demagogue don't have areas of concerns, fonts or other deific information yet written in lore books, which would explain their absence.

This is really good. Is Benoras still canon as an Angel Lord? I don’t see him but maybe he’s dead.

Zibik is also missing.

Set seems to better reflect his duality in Ancient Egyptian mythology

I'd love to make corrections and updates as possible. It would probably line up with the Spring/Fall errata updates.

Feronia is also missing. I dunno what she’d be categorized as. She’s almost like a tertiary elemental Lord of fire.

Razmir could use an entry, as well as the Prophecies of Kalistrade. Maybe the various Pantheons too?

PF2 deity missing from the document with their original source, some with speculation on why missing:

Arqueros, Knights of Lastwall
Kerkamoth, G&M (Inevitable, so OGL related)
Kostchtchie, G&M (OGL)
Orcus, BotD (OGL)
Otolmens G&M (Inevitable, so OGL related)
Valmallos G&M (Inevitable, so OGL related)

Adventures/AP Deities:

Conqueror Worm, Night of the Gray Death
Zibik, Warden of Wildwood

Note: A couple "missing deities" mentionned in the thread are PF1 deities that have yet to be converted to PF2. Considering that there's still 184 unconverted PF1 deities, their omission in this document is expected, and shouldn't be seen as a confirmation that they will never be.
Notably: Benorus and Feronia.

I don't have the book myself but I was told that -all- the Ancient Osirian Gods had been removed from the setting. But according to this doc only some of them have, and a bunch of them are listed in their own section not the 'missing/dead' list at then end as it were. So are the ones not in the missing list still viable for play?

Only some have been lost to the "outside of the universe" portal they were thrown in.

The rest simply didn't have enough space in the book, so they are in this document! People just assumed they were ALL gone because they didn't have access to the web supplement. So only thos in teh "missing" section are oficially gone. The rest are ALL still valid character choices.

Yes, although Set and Sekmeht are restricted in Organized Play due to having disruptive edicts and anathema.

So, I created a spread sheet with all PF1 deities, all PF2 deities, and all deities in this web supplement (That one I had to manually type all these 384 names!). And I calculated some fun stats:

365 living deities. (Lissala is there twice, and Nyarlathotep is there 4 times! Ignored in this count, so +4 if we count the duplicates)
19 missing/dead ones
Total of 384, 388 if we count the duplicates.
Almost back to PF1's count of 463!

Other fun numbers:

Pre war: (Anything released for PF2 before War of Immortals)
New to PF2: 51;
Converted from PF1: 185;
PF1 deities non-converted: 278;

Post war: (Everything in this web supplement)
New to PF2: 105;
Post War deities that were NOT in PF2 before: 157;
Dead/Missing: 19 (some were long dead/missing);
Converted from PF1: 279;
Newly converted from PF1 (not in PF2 previously): 100;
PF1 deities still non-converted: 184;

If anyone is curious, here is the spreadsheet I made in view mode. If you have any comment (about errors or stuff), I'll try to keep tab here, or you could sent me a private message.

Feronia did get a name drop in RoE if memory serves, but no "stat block".

Well there’s Naderi, oh… and I guess not all of the Osirion pantheon is gone then.

Yeah, hard to spreadsheet lore mentions without doing TONS of reading across literal hundreds of books. :P

So yeah, all these numbers are only related to deities available for character options.

It's nice to see Set get the option for Holy and Unholy and some much kinder anathema. I know one of my players was quite sad to see the deity all evil, but it seems he got a more neutral take on his character now!

That would be interesting to see! Paizo seems to do a solid job on creating fair representations of cultures and their folklore with 2e, but they do seem to stick to anglicizations for names too.
