Outer planes (that Boneyard is part of) are metaphysical in nature and made of quitessence, or "soulstuff". Bones in Boneyard might not be actual bones but metaphysical manifestations of death, passing and moving on etc. This applies to all material and most of the beings in plane (here psychopomps). Hence the bones are not brought there but they have manifested in plane.

My contender is Nevermind. In a campaign we were in, opponents critfailed enough for us to feel bad about the effect. Also, my character got a fail on this.

I've been thinking about Holomog, with celestial blessing over the lands. Not all lands are as safe as others, but somewhere there I'd say.

Chronoskimmer!

Don't you hate it when you roll equal to opponent and they go first? Not any longer! Look at situation and make initiative interesting with 50-50 coin flip or take it safe and secure 10.

Free hero-point once per day for failed check! Give sure strike to friends! Get hasted or slow down enemies! Be here and then suddenly there and don't care about reactive strikes! Amplify your melee skills with Reverse charge or superimposed time duplicates!

The best there is? Perhaps not. The most fun? Based on my GM:s many "What the frell" as I say "I use space-time shift", heck yeah.

This was super great to read! Any updates in the last three years? I'd love to read them.

As of now, there's series of reddit threads for feedback going on to get a comprehensive look at both PF1e and 2e adventure paths. I'd say an update is coming this year.

Interesting.

They were known as Riders of the Apocalypse or Four Riders of the Apocalypse in the War of Immortals, with Apocalypse Rider being the mythic path / general term for mortals pledging themselves to ending life and getting a mount from Abaddon.

And in Divine Mysteries they are known as Apocalypse Riders.

So an adventure that starts with a Thanatos Daemon taking level 4-5 players to Abaddon, with their only hope out is to make it to the Awaiting-Consumption. Or some other place.

Important part is that the place where players are going is Psychopomp lair in boneyard (because that is awesome set piece). You can change the Shabti to psychopomps like Vanths or morrigna and use place as an outpost from Boneyard (keeping undercover, waiting for reply from Carters concortium that has not came.). You can replace the soul clinic as a prison or base of operations from boneyard (But while still keeping the map!), where Psychopomps aquire undead from Geb and interrogate them for information to try find out weaknesses in Geb on where to strike, find tortured soul or something similar.

Balji is an unfortunate soul that is in pieces, and they try to mend him and find information with their means about Kemnebi spesifically, unsuccessfully. But Matron Uldrula is acceptible to make a deal to kill Kemnebi... Whereas Arbiter Alcrazaal is not.

But this way you're less striking victims or a soul clinic full of unfortunate souls, but a more militant place while still keeping the plot of "grab the soul parts".

I'm surprised. The Forsaken are here despite not being prominent in Netherworld as of now, but Velstrac Demagogue are absent even though they're more present (and even mentioned in War of Immortals).

And one Forsaken, the Widow, is missing. Though that's kind of expected

EDIT: Reading Lois's post, I guess Velstrac Demagogue don't have areas of concerns, fonts or other deific information yet written in lore books, which would explain their absence.

Yeah Golems were already changed and I do recall them hiring a sensitivity reader/consultant for things such as Nephelllim. Now it's ok to disagree with them making the choice but the choice wasn't done haphazardly or without consideration, and as you said no group is a monolith so it makes sense that there are people like yourself who will disagree with it.

Found the exact post about this

Oh, then Paizo must have psychically sensed my post and solved the issue before I ever posted.

It couldn't be that I forgot to hit the Remaster toggle on AoN.

Now I wonder if the same trick will work with Nephilim and Golems...

Golems are no longer golems. Clay golem is now Clay effigy and Iron golem is now Iron Warden. Fozzil golem is now Paleohemoth. I guess such will be the case for others as the remaster goes on.

I understood they consulted an expert regarding Nephilim when they settled on the name, but I'd have to dig deeper / roll well on paizo forum lore.

Healing in this game works beautifully.

Magical healing of clerics might be the most obvious choice for newcomers, but they don't overly outshine heals of occult-based sooth or primal casters, or other divine casters like Sorcerer and Oracle. There's fine variety on different subclasses and feats that modify healing and so many ways to make healing viable. And now there's a kineticist, and later this year the Animist.

And out of magical healing, alchemist that focuses on Chirugeon and battle medicine based characters are also viable healers in combat and out of it.

Healing just works in all it's variety. I realized it early on when my poor sorcerer perished in TPK and on new characters a buddy made battle-medicine focused investigator. Seeing it in action was eye-opening. Since then I've seen variety of styles on healer characters as their primary or secundary role.

Paizo did a live in january, where they dropped few new pictures for monsters from the monster core. And one thing that jumped to my eyes was ARCHONS! Like damn, Legion Archon's new look is spectacular.

Not forgetting new looks for Naga, Witch, Raksha. Gotta say, Paizo, I love what you're doing.

If Zon-Kuthon kicks the bucket, I'm interested to see the rise of Velstrac Demigogue and return of the Forsaken as well as the turmoil in Nidal.

But I would be kind of saddened, I've had good times with my Champion of Zon-Kuthon and the Nidalese diplomat I've had in our Blood Lords campaign.

Regarding your regular play outside Pathfinder Society, it is more likely that there was no space to put the feat in. In many cases, you are able to use pre-remaster PF2 feats, equipment etc with at most slight alterations. For example I still utilize shackleborn lineage feats and Final Form feat from Ancestry guide even though such feats have not been reprinted in remaster.

In regards to Pathfinder Society games, this Paizo blog here should have the answers.

This is kind of answered in Compatibility FAQ site , with further context given by Pathfinder Infinite and ORC blog post and expecially comment thread. This is further elaborated on Pathfinder / Starfinder infinite Q&A video.

If you wish to utlize Pathfinder Second Edition, Lost Omens Setting on your commercialized Foundry product, if you include Pathfinder lore and setting, I assume you need Compatibility License. But further information might be found by contacting licensing@paizo.com.

We utilized it at one point in Agents of Edgewatch for completing quest as well as a fun little RP-moment, when my low-wisdom goblin unknowingly (but with my consent) was in the circle. But it's usage was quite little.

I honestly have no idea why Paizo decided to remove drow from the game entirely...

This thread right here from page 6 onwards is filled with various answers to the question from angles of legal stuff, goes through several what ifs, why Drow need to go but Duergar can be renamed and kept in, considerations on how if paizo had 2-5 years more they could have been kept, how it was painful to make this decision to let go of the Drow but ultimately it had to be done.

As for what happens to the lore things where Drows used to be related to, we'll see. It is possible that future books and AP extras will illuminate these things, but they come when (and if) they come. The Sky King's Tomb backmatter seems to have illuminated situation in Darklands.

So the information you're missing is that this was on twitch stream about Tian Xia. But at the end of it, there was hints about War of the Immortals and the cover art.

OK, here's something I'm confused about. The wiki entry on the Eternal Emperor gives the impression that it was the dominant religion almost everywhere in Lung Wa, and that it was only after the fall of Lung Wa that people in the Successor States converted to the worship of deities. The Player's Guide for Season of Ghosts (set very soon after the fall of Lung Wa) gives the impression that the worship of various deities is perfectly mainstream. Was there a retcon here, or am I just misunderstanding something?

Edit: The Player's Guide even says, "One of Lung Wa’s chief concerns when they first expanded into Willowshore was to reduce the likelihood of an undead uprising. They solved it by building a cathedral to Pharasma."

I assume that the worship of deities has been a thing that was done in hiding. Bit like Desna worship in Nidal. And when the Lung Wa fell, it gave freedom for other deities to be worshipped.

But perhaps we get answers in Tian Xia world guide.

I have a story hook planned, where the characters at lvl 4 enter a lair of a cult, and after clearing it they meet the BBEG and it's servant, a Thanadaemon. BBEG says to take care of them and leaves to find new cult members to do his bidding.

Thanadaemon instead summons his boat and takes players to Abaddon, where they have to travel to a safe haven from which they could return to the Universe. Perhaps through Outer Rifts and Hell's layers.

I'd like some more information on what kind of curse you wish to put on your fellow adventurers.

Archives of Nethys holds some curses that could be attached to items, like Item Curses or Tempting Curses. Perhaps some of these would be sufficient?

Personally, I'd like to see a conflict between Rahadoum and Thuvia. It might come from desperate measures to counter desertification or battle against religious group between the border of Thuvia and Rahadoum brings two nations at war, with Rahadoum requiring aid from druids and warriors of Mwangi nations and Thuvia making alliances with Cheliax and Mediopalti Island. Possibly there would be additional input to the conflict from Katapesh and Osirion.

In these wars I'd see death of Sarenrae, the scorching sun above the Golden Road desert. Perhaps due to extreme magic aquired by Rahadoum or by her sacrifice to end the war and save Rahadoum and Thuvia from further conflict. There might be eclipse for hundred days while deities will find solution to the trouble.

I'm sligtly upset that we're losing one of the core deities. But from objective point of view, I see it's exciting storytelling and a fine way to move world onward.

I'd also consider Oprak a possibility, nation made for Hobgoblins and goblins. Works for Bugbears at least, but not sure about others. They seem to accept at least other creatures besides goblinoid, if I read world guide right.

On Heaven, Vildeis would be interesting. The Cardinal Martyr might see that the artifact's power in wrong hands makes more evil and would require enormous efforts to convince otherwise. And powerful artifact would make her available to fight against all evils.

With Nirvana... I'd perhaps take Soralyon as guardian of monuments and ruins. If the artifact is evil or requires destruction of ancient ruins, he'd be against the players. Send players through horrible ruins full of traps and statues.

In Elysium, Black Butterfly because imagine players meeting Black silouette with white hair above infinite black sea, on which characters can walk.

From Hell, Beelzebub. Imagine a titan consisting of swarming flies standing against hellish sky, wishing to gain former power.

In Abaddon, any of the Horsemen is fine. Szuriel might be most interesting for me.

In Abyss, Baphometh. Players are in an enormous labyrinth, where demons lay behind every corner and at the end the Demi-god awaits.

Otolmens from Axis. Enormous machine-like being sees players as an anomaly with their artifact pieces that would disturb the equations, models etc. And with the artifact's power the models of future would be more accurate. Fight in observatory could contain meteors and comets form sky.

Narakaas could be the opponent in Boneyard. Wishing to gain power to gain new chances to incomplete souls, show possibilities for them. And players themselves would be at the crossroads, with possibility to tip balance to good, evil, law or chaos. They would put players through trials of change to be worthy of the artifact.

Maelstrom, I have no idea. Perhaps Besmara the Pirate Queen, fighting on Maelstrom waters on a ship against her pirate ship and crew.

My Nidalese diplomat, Tyrant of Zon-Kuthon met his fate at lvl 8. Next character is a fluxwraith. Thaumaturge, but I'm putting class feats and free archtype feats into ghost and chronomancer archtypes.

Story goes that Tsunah, an azerketi was a paranolmal investigator and a scholar in Quantium. But when his investigations led to find a doorway to dimension of time, ritual failed in epic proportions and turned Tsunah into a fluxwraith. His tome implement is a journal, research notes, diary or novella depending on what timeline he chooses to be in the morning.

I like all of the core gods and some of the others present in the Gods & Magic. But I'm drawn to Shenlyn and Zon-Kuthon. I have somewhat soft spot to LE entities. Zon-Kuthon was something different from your typical LE god and when I started to read about the history of the two, I got several ideas for adventures, short stories and such for one god's follower or the other. So whenever there's new Lost Omens book I go through what followers of Zon-Kuthon and Shenlyn got.

If you want to emulate the "Do something weird to gain powers", I'd take a free archtype to Swashbuckling to get panache. Then with appropriate feats you could gain fancy powers while having panache.

There exists a map of Kaer Maga from bird's eye perspective on book Redemption Engine, which might be of value when doing buildings in this 3d model.

I wish to make a Nidalese character on a mission to improve political relationships between Nidal and Geb. Perhaps have a church of Zon-Kuthon built for all the vampires and others that'd be interested.

It took a little bit to get there, but we have arrived at a compelling question. How does the universe (and/or whatever relevant forces within it) know how to judge aligned actions and the complexities of context that surround such?

.....

(As for the actual process of assigning alignment, I seem to recall that your actions over time attract the quintessence consistent with your behaviour, but that is a vague and possibly inaccurate memory at best, and of course does nothing to illustrate how good quintessence knows to show up when helping others but not when helping others to further your selfish goals.)

Description in Planar Adventures does mention, that "sentience, experience, and outside influences might realign a soul’s innate neutrality toward extremes of law, chaos, good, or evil." Quintessence by my understanding of the text comes to a factor when soul is judged and sent to the final plane. Soul and quintessence merge, forming an outsider (petitioner). I wonder if the quintessence itself is "mallable" and reacts to the alignment of the soul, or if there exists multiple types of it respective to alignment, which then is attracted to suitable types of alignment that the soul represents. Or something else entirely. But this doesn't still give deeper understanding on how the soul itself gains alignment.

Any discrete action should be the same.
... Why though? Context is what defines those actions.

It defines a character's reasons and motivations, but not the act itself. And I assume this is the dispute here. We can make statement that generally, perhaps universally, stealing is wrong and give plenty of reasons why it is so. Then we can state that if someone has stolen, objectively one has done wrong. Same logic can be put behind killing, cheating and such.

But context gives us reasons for a character to steal, which many may find acceptable. And context (as in reasons behind the action and the intend of the character) may make character evil, good or neutral. To focus on objective morality of act is point of view of a lawful person; where it puts the character on good and evil axis is another dispute.
