Kingmaker 10th Anniversary Campaign Begins!

Tuesday, May 7, 2019

Nearly a decade ago, the Kingmaker Adventure Path helped lead the way with an open-ended "sandbox" style adventure that encouraged exploration and conquest in a rugged wilderness. Its open-world narrative and kingdom-building elements gave players and Game Masters unparalleled freedom to explore and shape the world with their heroic actions. It has become one of the best-selling and most beloved campaigns in Pathfinder's history.

Today, we are proud to announce the Kingmaker 10th Anniversary crowdfunding campaign has begun with our friends at Game On Tabletop! You can see all the details now at KingmakerCampaign.com. Explore the books, the Add-Ons, and the Level-Ups. Help us build a bigger, better, more immersive Kingmaker campaign.

Together, we'll take your new kingdom—and the Kingmaker campaign—to new heights of power!

I'll say! The interactive maps are 55 pages!

I had some issues with some of the downloads. The pawn box, multi pack maps. I hit the refresh download button in the upper left then clicked 'had a problem with download' below them and it refreshed them and downloaded successfully.

Keep in mind their servers are going to be getting hit hard right now.

Well, I'll toss out my questions to backers now, and hope I wake up to folks with the PDF tomorrow:

How does the new introduction (in Brevoy) look?
Did any Numerian goodies sneak into either the AP itself or the Companion Guide?
How's the art on the kobolds and the centaurs?
Are there any Archetypes in this?

I only skimmed through the Brevoy section but it looks good. Starts with a feast and uses the influence system in the Gamemastery Guide, some named creatures to fight afterwards in the attack that I don't think were in the game (it's been a minute). Art looks great in the intro, really cool ogre fight art and another art piece with Amiri slamming a chair onto an enemy.

Products have begun shipping to backers, and we are now granting the PDFs for Pathfinder Kingmaker Adventure Path products. While only a few of the products included free PDFs as a reward, we are granting backers a complete set of PDFs as a thank you for their patience.

Our CS team has been striving to catch up and response times are much improved. Again, thank you.

The bonus PDFs is a wonderful and very appreciated treat. Thank you for all your hard work! So glad to finally get these <3

Okay; the word/name of "Numeria" shows up over 50 times in the PDF for the AP. It shows up only once (on a chart) in the Companion Guide.

I've skimmed a fair bit. The new version of the kingdom rules look more streamlined, but I'll need to give a closer reading of some of it to really tell. I also liked all the extra camping and downtime tasks, but will need to see if they stay interesting past a couple of sessions type of thing. Chapter 0/prologue looks very well executed. Haven't looked at the other new chapters yet; or seeing how they improved the through-line of the main plot.

Happy that something was done with the (in my opinion) very problematic Valerie companion quest line; sad that it's close to the smallest possible change that slightly addresses it.

Will need to wait until my physical copies arrive for in-deopth immersion/reading/prepping -- especially to make sure I don't use assume some 1e content in places.

I have been checking out companion guide, I'm bit sad for characters who didn't get the extended stretch goal sidequest since it was fun to read changes to both companions and npcs related to their quest :D Fredero Sinnet, Tristian and Kingdom of Cleansed for example are EXTREMELY different

However no updates whatsoever from ulisses here either.

I didn't buy into the pre-release as I wasn't sure about PF2 back then (had become a bit burnt-out on PF1), but now I love PF2 and am hoping the hard copy goes on sale to the proletariat soon, because I am all-in on PF2. Planning to run it with my group when we finally (soon!) finish Age of Ashes

I TRY TO CHANGE THE METHOD AND IT DOESN'T SAVE BECAUSE THE SITE REFUSES TO RECOGNIZE I CHANGED THE SHIPPING METHOD! AND NOW IT'S FLAGGED AS CHANGING SHIPPING!

AND NO PDF CODES EITHER!

THERE IS NO REASON FOR THIS! PAIZO FIX THIS NOW! I HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO BE ANGRY!

Easy. It's past 7 my time, I'm sure paizo is closed at the moment. Give them a day to try to fix this.

You're missing the point. I contacted them several times over several days via different methods. They never responded to me yet they responded to others. They never told me there was an issue with my order. They were open when I posted and they are still open.

Oh, and this is the day people were supposed to receive the PDF codes by, which I never got yet others have.

I have every right to be furious.

As others have said, their CS team is understaffed and working through a massive backlog. I understand it's frustrating, but do try to breathe a little. They'll make sure you get your books, I promise.

PDF email arrived yesterday afternoon and the shipping notification showed up this morning. Things look good, and of course looking forward to getting all the paper for Kingmaker and my other subscriptions.

Have all the backer emails for the PDFs been sent out, or are more still coming?

I got my "about to ship" for the physical product, but nothing about the PDFs.

I am so looking forward to the adventure, so I can run Kingmaker one last time.

I've had nothing on shipping (I'm in the UK) and no email with PDF codes. Have posted on Gameontabletop and now posting here. Really disappointing given a date of 31/8 was set for PDFs and after 3 years that deadline has also been missed.

I think I saw further up the thread that backers get all the PDFs as a goodwill gesture for waiting so long.

That said, I've definitely got PDFs in my order and not had anything (shipping email or PDF codes).

The Kingmaker AP has started shipping to backers and PDFs have been released to them. All our PDF emails have gone out. If you are a backer and didn't get your email, you should check your spam folder and then email Customer Service with Kingmaker PDF in the subject line. (Putting your issue into the subject line will help our CS Team, generally.)

We do not have shipping updates from our partners at this time.

The suite of 13 products will be for sale at game stores and paizo.com in late October. Preorders are being intentionally delayed until backer shipping is completed shortly. The landing and product pages are ready and will go up when our initial shipping is complete.

Crud... First thing I did was check my spam folder. No joy. eMail to customer service on the way. Thanks for the information Aaron.

On the day that your order ships, that result is perfectly normal for everyone. If they actually used UPS or UPS-MI to ship the package, the tracking link should work in a day or two.

But if they used USPS, the link will never work (and indeed should never have been set up).

For what it’s worth I’m in the UK and I got an email with a code to access the pdfs at 0137 BST on 1st September. I have now redeemed the code and have access to a lot of pdfs. If it helps the code was sent to the email linked to my Paizo account rather than that linked to my crowdfunder email.

If you haven’t got your link yet I hope you get it soon.

Thank you Aaron, Tonya, and Customer Service.

Sent email with Kingmaker PDF in subject line at 15:37. Got response with Redemption code at 16:30, ie. 53 minutes later! Great work! And downloaded my PDFs and looking at them now.....

I only care about the PF1e portions so I just want the Bestiary for it when it comes out for everyone later. Glad Legendary Games cares about PF1e players unlike Paizo, who ditched us and won't make more game material for us. LG seems to be the only ones so far producing PF1e content still.

Can someone share the ToC of the Bestiary by any chance?

I see no reason to believe this would be any different from other Paizo releases, where they drop for general sale at the same time.

May I ask if we all have a unique redemption code, usable once and if so if it is permissible to give that to someone else to redeem on their paizo account?

I dont use PDFs and I know someone who didn't back the project but wishes they had. So it seems a waste for them to sit there undownloaded on my account.

I appreciate that if this is possible and someone else downloads my redemption code, I will never be able to access the PDFs without buying them.

I have never seen any game company support two editions at the same time - except when there was a d20 and original version of the game. Otherwise with these iterative editions it does not make any sense for the company to continue supporting an older edition…… still happy to see a 3rd party serving those needs.

Now that they also issued the 5e version PDF to all backers I might hoever actually consider using that to take my kids through a (modified) version of kingmaker.

Just a heads up, my orders ship USPS (I live 45 minutes from Paizo) the links for tracking work 90% of the time.

With that said, lately they have not been as reliable the last 3 or 4 months, but with that said, last month's tracking worked fine. So the usps links do work, except of course when they don't

The new introduction is a great upgrade on the old one, which was entirely contained in the text of the PC's exploration charter. Now we get very nice detail on the sponsoring Swordlord, her household, etc. Especially, the opportunity to meet with the other groups sent to explore the Stolen Lands will help a lot with establishing the kingdom's environment. The introduction is now a whole chapter with choices that can influence later developments. Prominent among these, of course, are the encounters with the potential NPC companions.

Numeria is mentioned many times, but nearly always as a basic geographical reference, in some NPC backstories or land description. There is one exception: A small portion of the Stolen Lands is described as Numeria territory, with a modest amount of specifics about technology-flavored encounters there. There is an opportunity to establish a trade route with Numeria, but the flavor from it is left to the GM.

There are 4 pieces of kobold art in the AP: New versions of Chief Sootscale and Tartuk, as well as 2 new NPCs. All very good, but then I think the old depictions of Tartuk and the Chief were great too.

The centaur art is just reused from the 1e AP, which I found a little disappointing. I would have rather kept the kobolds and gotten new centaurs, but that's just me.

There are no archetypes, only pointers to archetypes in other books.
