Mine was just reauthorized with new shipping cost and a Blood Lords AP volume... So apparently it was being held to ship with subscriptions? Looks like the 11-20 days timer is reset with shipping starting tomorrow. At least I have the PDFs, but this makes me sad.

All you're doing now is arguing with people. You're not the only person who hasn't gotten their shipping notice.

So I thank someone for their feedback and get criticised for that too? You really can't win around here can you.

Mine has never shown up on my official account as a pending order or anything.

I did get the email for PDF's and got the code entered, but nothing about shipping so far.

It has not attached to my monthly sub either :P Glad to hear someone is getting movement though :D

You can’t win but I vainly still once in a while try to get Paizo thinking internationally vs. a US first approach….. guess it is some professional deformation. Them trying to coordinate and service international customers better would be a win - and one where no one has to lose.

I will admit Brian Bauman is making an ace effort - although an EU hub would be appreciated even more…

I think a lot of people over estimate how large a company Paizo is. They're a successful gaming company, but that doesn't mean they can just open up hubs outside of the country in which they operate. That's not cheap, and personally, I'd rather they increase the pay for their employees.

So, I've seen at least one unboxing video now.

I am surprised more people aren't speaking up here that they received it, here or on game on tabletop.

Just sitting over here impatiently ;)

Got the initial 'about to ship' notice, but nothing since.

Question for the Hive Mind: Did the order show up on your regular account as pending/shipped? Nothing has shown up on mine yet.

Mine showed up in my regular account as pending/shipped. Split into at least two shipments -- the regular edition books shipped last week arrived yesterday. All the other addons, including the special edition, are looking like a normal sidecart order now. I think I've seen them go through various states -- all one order, split to two orders, second ordered combined with some subscriptions, then split back out, etc.

Mine had the usual not reliable tracking email I get for all of my monthly Paizo orders. However this one and a couple before started to show up on the USPS informed delivery site. That tracking number I could take and use on UPS tracking site to get an understanding of when it would come.

Bloody hilarious, UPS-MI doesn't have tracking information yet, but my daily email from the US Postal Service shows it being held at the Post Office for delivery on Monday (we are out of town till Sunday).

Yeah, UPS MI is notoriously bad about passing back status information to their internal system. It's usually best to take the UPS MI tracking number (when it's just a USPS number) and use that at the USPS site.

How can you tell if a UPS tracking number is also a USPS number? I have a 14-character number that starts with 'PZ', but it doesn't show up on either the UPS or the USPS site. I've exceeded the estimated shipping time as of yesterday.

Similar situation here. Except I didn't get anything from usps. If I click on the number on the ups mi site, it says there is some sort of error.

Paizo should tell you how they shipped a package in their e-mail about the order and/or the order's entry in your order history. I have never gotten tracking info for any order that Paizo shipped via USPS. Sometimes something goes wrong with UPS shipments when someone fails to scan the package and it goes missing from that point until it shows up at my door.

Anyway -- If you have no tracking info and the estimated shipping time has elapsed, it's time to send an e-mail to Paizo's customer service.

Thanks, David. I’ll check my order history to see if it has any additional information compared to the shipping email they sent me. If nothing there helps, I’ll email.

FYI, UPS-MI still doesn't know about it. My Paizo order history doesn't know about it. The UPS-MI order number "PZO0000xxxxxxx" is NOT the same as the US Post Office 16 digit number. There is no other number in the two emails from Paizo.

Yes, same for me. I got my Shipment email on 8/30, but in checking that, I realized it said 4 to 8 business days, so I'll give it through the weekend before I escalate.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Got my email about it shipping on 8/30 (like others, the UPS-MI tracking never works). Package arrived today (9/8), everything looks to be in good shape at first glance!

(I live in Boston, about as far in the US as you can get from Paizo, so not bad time really; might help others estimate time of arrival in their neck of the woods).

Medriev wrote:
Doesn't really seem too tricky to me, though, in that you wait until all your fulfillment partners have confirmed they have all the products they need to ship and then agree with them when you will all commence shipping. Any other solution prioritises the continental US which is hardly fair to backers elsewhere whose money is just as good as everyone else's.

Some further insight into the complexity of this issue:

There are several hubs being used for some of the international distribution. In this case, each hub appears to be using a different company to process the rewards and ship them. Each of those companies has their own schedule with a list of games (and sometimes other things) they need to distribute. To coordinate all of those would be a massive task, particularly with the unpredictability of when a ship will arrive in port, and goods will be released from customs. To coordinate one campaign could cause disruption to several others as well as delay the receipt of rewards until everyone is ready to go. Even then, it only lessens the discrepancy as the time from hub to customer will also vary, sometimes considerably. On top of that, this is expensive as you need to pay for whare-housing those goods until everyone is ready.

While it is true that the USA often receives goods first from crowdfunding campaigns, particularly from US based companies, I have actually seen them be on the tail end several times recently, just because of when ships were available and when goods moved out of ports. Believe me, there was an uproar in each case, though this is what some areas of the world experience most of the time.

Until affordable, predicable shipping and customs processing becomes a reliable expectation, I will not expect any coordination of international distribution for rewards.

In fact, I was just told on the Ulisses Spiele Discord to "direct all questions regarding the delivery of the crowdfunding to Paizo only". And further, "We do not answer any questions on this issue."

I find that worrying.

This is what I had from Paizo by email yesterday so not expecting them to offer much more info here:

"We sent Kingmaker products to our fulfillment partners outside the US as soon as we received it in our warehouses. Unfortunately, the shipping industry has still not recovered from Covid and we are still witnessing delays and supply chain issues. We also supplied them with the information for all orders needing fulfillment. At this point, we have no insight into their processes or timelines."

Looks like it might be up to backers to chase fulfillment partners and doesn't really fit with what Ulysses Spiel are saying. The one positive for me is that Spiral Galaxy Games in the UK seem pretty communicative and helpful but appreciate that doesn't help RoW backers elsewhere.

It looks a little like no-one feels in charge of delivering to EU backers, and no-one seems to want to say something about that.

By the way, earlier this week, Marcus Plötz of Ulisses Spiele said on a Twitch Stream that Ulisses was not handling delivery of the Kingmaker products and that the information by Paizo was wrong. Today, Ulisses has stated on Discord that they will not answer any questions on this issue.

@Paizo: this issue needs to be resolved.

This is getting awfully worrying.

I understand that Paizo has other things to do but blindly sending merchandise without assurance that it will reach the people who payed for it seems a bit much.

I guess I can stop searching my mailbox for "Kingmaker" for some time now on.

Just hope I did well to order not just the pdf and that one day we, EU customers, will receive our books too.

Though I feel the rest of the world might have all be served before the first one of us gets their merchandise.

Did Paizo commit to not sell to non-backers until all backers get their goods ? That would provide appropriate incentive to solve this issue.

As somebody who was also expecting my delivery through Ulisses Spiele I would very much appreciate some clarity from Paizo as to what exactly is going on and if there is a problem how they intend to fix it.

I don't work in logistics, so take what I say with a grain of salt. This is just what I've put together from shipping and receiving a lot of packages over the years. UPS-MI is a service that hands off last mile delivery to different carriers.

I've gotten two different kinds of numbers from them. The PZ number appears to be Paizo-specific—I've never gotten one of these from any other company. I believe it's a UPS-MI number used when a Paizo package is delivered using USPS.

Those numbers have worked exactly one time in a decade or so of subscriptions, where the number got updated prior to the package arriving. However, if there is any info on the tracking page at all, then it might show the actual USPS number on the tracking page. You can enter that on the USPS tracking page and it might get updated with more regularity.

USPS numbers are 22-digit numbers that start with 9. I'm pretty sure these get expanded to 26 digits after delivery confirmation.

Sometimes I've gotten the actual UPS number from Paizo. Those will start with 1Z. Those update at a better pace but I don't know that I get them that often—I seemed to get a handful back in March/April, but then back to the PZ numbers.
