I've converted RoW to 2E fully and it's been great, consider just doing that. Most of the monsters are fairly easy to convert by just swapping out equal level ones. Treasure will need to be scrapped and converted from the ground up unfortunately, but it isn't too hard to do.

I've been working on RoW too (I can't say "fully", but a couple sessions worth). Now that the witch playtest is out it gives me a lot more to work with.

I think there's room for a house rule where component on hand subtract from the gp cost. For example, if the PCs come across 30gp worth of lumber it seems fair to subtract 30gp from the cost of crafting wooden items,as the lumber is 'consumed', rather than turning around and selling that lumber later.

Sent an email a week and a half ago (9/19) requesting the individual installments of Giantslayer (Order #8155536) be removed from my sidecart, leaving only the Bundle and other non-Giantslayer items.

I would also at this time like to go ahead and cancel the Starfinder Adventure Path subscription (Order #8166315 ) I initiated at about the same time.

Hopefully someone checks emails/forums soon and the duplicate items can be removed.

Thanks.

Understandable, since planning, assignments, etc. would be based off the achieved stretch goals at the actual campaign close. But still kinda sad that some goals would have otherwise been met.

I am looking forward to this so much!

Doesn’t sound like a terrible use for a feat, but it is worth a mention.

I actually agree. At low levels Assurance is pretty poor for a feat investment - it basically guarantees failure for DC 15 checks until level 3. Deliberately setting DCs at a level where Assurance continues to do nothing probably isn't the way to go. It's intended to represent a level of expertise where most related tasks are regarded as routine. It's the difference between an expert historian who might mis-remember the occasional detail and one who has studied enough to avoid those mistakes, even if their actual skill level is the same. The offset, of course, is that the historian using Assurance has no chance of catching the really fine details the other historian might notice on a critical.

It is almost impossible to make an unencumbered alchemist right now even with minimal equipment. I think a review of their class features (particularly mutagenicist, whose research field doesn't actually grant unique abilities) and alchemist bulk is one of the most urgent things an errata document needs to hit on (since it's a core class).

Nice to see a demo adventure. I will download it right now!

I've only played at a table with a goblin once so far, and the goblin was just gobliny enough and didnt harm play. But there was a point where he annoyed an important npc, so the goblin fixed things by excusing himself from the conversation and waiting outside. The player had fun being a goblin without hurting the investigation. That said, I could see a less responsible player really sabotaging the same situation.

But does that actually make sense? For a level 5 necromancer to be scared of low level undead and so she fights her way through caves full of spider monsters instead? When all she had to do was turn a corner and go down some stairs?

Are there any other "heroes" at the town meeting? Do they all just run off when the building catches on fire? If the whole town is built around hiring adventurers, there should be some other groups that show up, I imagine.

It could be kind of fun to present a red herring adventure that the players might think is intended for them, but have the council decide on hiring a more experienced group instead. The other adventurers go off to the tavern to celebrate, Warble then presents her case, and the fire happens.

Possibly the Call for Heroes has a bad reputation. The PCs might be the only group of heroes who didn't hear about the loopholes on the council's rewards (ie paying for Calmonth being "brought to justice", vs being brought back alive "if possible.") Wouldn't take to much of that before heroes didn't bother responding.

There have been a number of posts lately addressing the shortcomings in detail. The short of it is: you're right. The Mutagenist research field provides no actual benefit, containing features that all characters already have access to. Hopefully it receives some attention.

Numberless, duration defined. Reads "Stunned for one round." 0-level heritage trait.

What's nice about the Blade Ally and Crit Specialization is that, if the Champions gives his Ally the Shifting property, he technically has access to every weapon group's Crit result by spending 1 action to change to that weapon type.

Number 1 is worth what, 2 gold?

Number 2 doesn't seem to do anything, because the consensus I've gotten from the community is that mutagens no longer key off of a particular target (and I hope we keep it this way, because the idea of trying to pre-brew each mutagen at the start of the day seems awful, not to mention it means finding mutagens as loot would do nothing unless you had a mutagenist).

Number 3 literally does nothing, with the latest errata that Unarmed Attacks count as Simple Weapons for Proficiency.

These are all good points. The errata to #3 in particular completely invalidates the benefit as it already applies to every character. Likewise, #2 seems to already apply to every character, or at least I haven't notice a restriction on mutagens yet.

I imagine the piercing is just flavor text, but since that's an actual damage type it should probably be errata'd out for this exact reason. Then again, running a monster through with a bastard sword would be pretty satisfying.

How do you mean? -5 vs -10 is a pretty huge difference. It's the equivalent of getting a +5 bonus on your third attack.

I hate to say it, but with Critical Hits you want your primary stat high, and with Critical Fails you want your defense stats reasonable... That leaves Charisma, which for most characters doesn't help with offense or defense, as the clear winner of dump stat status for non-charisma builds.

Overstuff has some neat situational application... And may even be OP if the monster was only attacking because it was hungry. Overstuffed dragons for the win! Or if the party needs food, you could Overstuff an animal while hunting it to a) make it easier to hunt and b) have a huge extra amount of food inside it.

It is unsatisfying. But the book offers a couple suggestions (well, maybe only one) for giving players a way to survive. That said, it DOES feel a little bit like "moving the setting timeline along and the PCs are just along for the ride."

That is a weird design decision. But I assumed it was the case. I feel like mentioning it some where would have been a way better idea.

Things that are proficiencies are indicated in ancestries/classes/feats. The book is like 640 pages, I don't think there was enough room to list things that don't have proficiencies. And don't see the point, since the untrained bonus is +0 anyway it would have no impact on the math.

I've been skimming the Archives of Nethys 2E rules, and so far I gotta say there's nowhere near enough customization yet to tempt me into a purchase. If I read correctly, the *only* archetype material available in the core rulebook are the multiclass feats, which—I hate to say this—strongly, strongly reminded me of 4E D&D's multiclass feat thing, which I hated. I keep hearing talk of this debut being packed with content, and if what's meant by this is that the fundamental rules are different then sure. But insofar as depth of variety and customization? It's a boilerplate set of classes and races. That's fine for new players, but until there's substantially more content (and something to judge the new archetype system by that isn't just the crappy multiclass structure) I'm nowhere near to making a purchase.

Every region is getting a class archetype in the Lost Omens book, which was supposed to have released the same day as core. We'll still be getting it this month, though. Have to remember that traits, etc, all that were not part of PF1 core. I see a lot of people comparing PF2 day one to PF1 year five.

I'm a little concerned that the halfling is too forthcoming. He tells them who the bad guy is, what she's after, and where to find her, and even implies she worships Norgorber. The DM can try to steer them back towards the secret entrance and clearing out the goblin territory, but I can already guess that some parties will pursue the Voz lead relentlessly.

Also, it sounds like Voz triggered the necromantic wards before the cultists came (she'd been making multiple trips through the secret tunnel), but the stairwells wouldn't have been collapsed at that time, so I'm a little confused on the order of events.
