Ok a little confused, Boom got moved down the hall on the map, but Navarre didn't get moved into the other room. For some reason I posted ' into the south eastern corner' that was the direction from him, but he moved to the the south west corner of the room the shooter was in. I don't see how the grenade could have hit him.

It would be simpler if we could move on the map. If not I will try and be more careful with my descriptions.

I have changed the Game slides Link to that players can now move there icon's

Please place yourselves where you think you are :)

Thank you for changing the slide :)

I moved Navarre, but the shooter has also moved. Is it possible that Navarre could have gotten a shot off at them?

This round

Sorry All, I am on a biz trip till Friday

Male Human | AC9CA7

So I'm on a three week vacation, but brought my laptop so I could post when I have wifi, which will be often. But my laptop died and I'm posting with my phone. Not ideal... I'm going to try to keep up, but please bot me as needed. Thanks!!

Im back, yes London was nice but wet.

Doesn't Cable have training in engineering?

yes but he just can't make the DC, it's going to take a real Engineer to get past it.

So what is you PC going to do, got and try and save the officer to go after the Cr, she may still have a while to get the ship ready, you could risk it, or maybe he can hold our while your got after her?

if he can't make the dc Navarre only has + 1 more, there is no guarantee Navarre will make it either. I've asked Caleb on discord what he wants to do.

Which section of 'engineering' is the specific training for? I assume it's life support? but I don't see anywhere in the rules that says a person with general engineering training (ie rolls a'0') can't make the 'trained rolls.

His PC failed, that's all, your PC gets his own roll and a chance to save a life.

OK, that makes more sense, I may wait until Cable communicates the failure, I'd posted Navarre halfway into the docking bay, with a robot stepping between him and their prey.

Guess the question is whether the Varg would rather hunt or save the officers life.

I'll wait for a couple more folks to post.

Edit

GM_Panic wrote:

Sorry, I'd assumed this meant Cables roll had given him this information and he could attempt the repairs. Not that he had failed the repairs already.

Hold on there just a moment

Navarre as to get past the docking bay door.
He can see in and that's how he knows whats going in.

Did he not go past the docking bay doors?

I had posted

Navarre "Two-Fingers" wrote:

Nodding to Orion, he opens he docking area doors, moving into the docking bay, shotgun leveled at the would be escaping pirate, "Hold right there, I'd rather not kill you."

Basically just moving into the room, so he has a closer shot if he needs one.

You posted
GM_Panic wrote:

My assumption was that as Navarre moved into the room, the robot moved between us.

Ok missed that, did you edit it?

I will let your action stand

Male Human AACBC6

How long does it take to rig a charge that will disable the doors from the outside?

Otherwise I'm going to have to see if I can find the turret controls.

Someone has moved Navarre back out of the docking area and put Orion with Cable after he clearly said he was with Navarre.

Before everyone could go, the robots move again, I'm very confused about the order of things, why my character was moved, and why all the players weren't permitted to go before the robots/pirate.

It feels like we're retconning things, and I'm not sure why.

GM_Panic wrote:

NO I did not edit it, did you read it? It really feels like you double up on the pirates actions to make sure she got away.

I said we would be going into round, having a play rush off before the others have posted actions, needs to be reset so that we can do the actions in this round.

I placed you back, you have stated your Action.
I am waiting on the other players.
Once everyone has posted action, I will move you back as your stated your PC will do. As I will all the other players.

I want to know what you will be doing with the dying man?

Navarre "Two-Fingers"
Turning back towards the doors leading to the docking area, Navarre tabs his radio, "Cable, there are two low berth pods in the side room here. I think we can use one of them for the officer. More importantly I think our 'prey' is headed to a ship in the docking bay. We probably should stop her."

Nathan "Cable" Grey
Yes the same as the one you encountered before, heavy robot meat for lifting and hard work. Built like a tank for space work.

EDU+ENG: Fails DC

Digger Boom
Boom comes over the comms and says "I knew I should have rigged those ship doors for demolition! Did you see anywhere that the laser turret control might be? I can head there and try to shoot her while Cable and Orion get the officer to the low berths. Yous should probaly try and get them ready for them."

GM_Panic

Orion "He That Seeks"
Orion was moving with Navarre to clear a route, per my last post.

Navarre "Two-Fingers"
As Navarre moved towards the Docking area doors, he realizes Cable has started interacting with the cryotube. Chuckling at Boom's comment about 'rigging the doors' Navarre smiles a wolfish smile, "Don't worry we'll stop her." Nodding to Orion, he opens he docking area doors, moving into the docking bay, shotgun leveled at the would be escaping pirate, "Hold right there, I'd rather not kill you."

We are entering rounds!!!
This happins as you move into the room as you do the robot has moved around, blocking your view they are both this side, They will react to you.

ROUND 1 - As Navarre moves into the docking area, but the robots now move to block him, blocking his view. A voice comes to you.

Nathan "Cable" Grey

"Nav, I could really use your help! This thing isn't go-ready, and it's all I've got."

Two other players to post Actions on Round 1

So your robots get double moves before I can move into the room?

Sweet, that's what I thought, no one moved on the map so i was just making sure :)

"Hay!! Bounty hunters, you got shot up pretty badly by the boys, seems you took them out but good luck getting past the bots. Going to be long gone by then and this place is going to BLOW as soon as I'm out.!! hahaha hahaha"

Evil laughter, and you hear the ship's cockpit cover start to lower.
As the engines start to warm up.

I moved into the room, then you said we were in rounds, and your robots moved twice.

See above order of play, I have placed you back in the room but I need you to hold actions until the other 2 players have posted actions in Round 1

Your PC going in there triggered rounds that is why it came after you doing that.

I hope this makes things clear for you.

So its clear your going risk the officer dying and go for the money 1st.

This helps me know how your PC will evolve in the game.
But I also need to know how the other plays think there PCs will act with this call.

AFter Navarre walked into the room outside the docking area, informed the others of the pods and pirate he rolled knowledge checks. All the other players posted before Navarre entered the docking area. Look at the order of posting, I actually asked Orion if he was still with Navarre before he entered the docking area.

I was also under the impression that Cable could make the engineering check, which he attempted before Navarre entered the docks. You had posted the tech thing, you could have told us that Cable failed the engineering check, it may have changed navarres actions.

You posted rounds started after Navarre posted he went into the dock area

Moved to game play

ok I'm done.

I don't know why this game is so rough, I generally like how you GM games.

My character stepped into the docks, prompting rounds. Before anyone else could move you moved twice. I'm done arguing about it.

I'm stepping away from the game. Please move Navarre to the Previous players tab.

Look I understand you want to gun-ho ahead to the price, Navarre
But please all I asked was that we let the players say what we are doing now we have gone into a combat sequence. Because I was asked as a GM to slow things down and that is what I was trying to do.

Robert Henry if you wish to quit that is 100% your right..

If you feel my slow play to work out what other players are doing has somehow broken the game for you then I am sorry.

I wish only the best for you.

@Other players.

What would you like to do, we can try and get a new player

play this out this bit. And then seek someone.

Or we can say this is quits and end it here.
I would be sorry to see that happen

Its your call.

GM_Panic wrote:
But please all I asked was for you to show some respect for other players when we enter a combat sequence.

Panic, I'm not sure what you're talking about. I haven't posted since Navarre stepped into the room. Since then, you've posted twice, (before anyone could) the first time moving NPC's before you announced we were in initiative. The second after you realized Navarre had actually stepped into the docks and you'd not caught it.

Again, please move Navarre to the previous player tab so the game is off my que.

Doctor

WOW - generally I am the one who is behind, and generally it is in Gameplay. There are only 6 posts between my 2 posts in gameplay, one of which was at noon yesterday. Today alone there have basically been TWENTY posts here in Discussion. I do not think anyone is on the same page at this point ...

I have removed Robert Henry and his PC as requested.

Robert Henry wrote:

I think that was the problem right there. We had entered combat, and I moved PCs/NPCs back temporarily to understand where everyone was before he entered the room. GH did not seem to like this. And kind off stated actions for other players.

I wanted the rest of you to state your own actions.

So I knew fully what everyone was doing round 1.

I really do not know why he wanted to control things so much.
I will admit I was getting a little frustrated.

I made clear that the officer is dying, that it would take and eng roll to fix the pod. But then it all went nuts.

I can only think there are other things going off in his life and I got the kicking.

Digger Boom wrote:

Otherwise I'm going to have to see if I can find the turret controls.

once there two rounds.

But only one skill roll on Demolistions

GM_Panic wrote:

WHAT? I wasn't trying to control anyone, I was trying to figure out why you weren't reading peoples posts in game and responding to them. I was also trying to figure out why you were doubling up on actions once we were in combat rounds.

Dude, you don't read posts, or you don't understand them, I'm not sure which. Also your communication is mixed up and hard to understand. That's fine, but when you act like it isn't true, especially when people call you on it, isn't fair.

Like I said, the last game I was in with you I thought you GM'd great, I don't know what happened here.

FYI, I hadn't closed this page, so I'd not seen that you removed the game from my que. Thank you

Doctor

With love, I think the answer lays in the very very very few posts in Gameplay, and all of us trying to understand them. I am still at a loss. Edits need to be clear. Based on the current (final?) gameplay post, I am guessing what the pirate said to Nav was retconned ... which is for sure your right as GM, but with additional love, for me, at that time (meta-me not Nathan-me), the pirate was escaping, because she was in a cockpit of something, and she spoke to Nav, and the station was going to blow up according to her, in what sounded like a lot lot less time than the time for him to return and reboot a cryotube with Cable.

Henry, if that is how you feel, that's fine. This one ran away form me.

THIS SONG SUMS IT UP

I think there is a mismatch of what I think is happening and what players do. I am reading posts it's the fact that I have to line events up. Map to posts and my understanding of things going on.

As for my posts being hard to follow, well my dyslexia has a lot to do with that. I am sorry about that, that may have added to this, You have my deepest apologies for getting upset, its a frustration of mine.

All my life communicating has been hard and when it fails as it has now.
Well, just an old story.

This is now a game I no longer want to GM, it's obvious it not working.
For you player and for myself.

I am sorry it's been so frustrating for you as well.

So I am going to close the game in a week's time,
A week so we can have a cool down and you remaining players can post views and if you want me to carry on.

Thank you for bearing with me.

Male Human | AC9CA7

GM Panic, I do know how difficult it is to run a game, especially in play by post. This one has been a bit tough for me to follow as well (partly because I came in late), and though I remember loving the Traveller game many years ago, it's obviously been a very long time since I played - which is making it tougher for me to follow.

Respectfully, I'll bow out as well. Thank you for taking the time and energy to run the game. Good luck to you, and to everyone else as well.
