This creature continues to be strange. Since it is "grabbing" people, it should be the creature's Athletics DC, but standard bloodseekers have no Athletic bonus so the DC could be anywhere from 6 (-4 STR) to 10. This could be intended since they are tiny bugs you're just yanking off, but I have no idea.
If these special ones have an Athletics bonus, I'd use that; if not, level-based DC is a safe bet.
I have to say, the whole level-based DC chart is one of my favorite behind-the-scenes features of 2e.

That's just it -- they didn't have an Athletics mod. Only Acrobatics.

Hey GM. Sounds like we're just trying to resolve Arlen's Dying and Deroff's Persistent bleed situation. To speed things up I can try to resolve it now.
Round 1: 3 action Heal for 1d8 ⇒ 7 healing, that should revive Arlen.
Flat DC 15 vs Bleed: 1d20 ⇒ 8
Bleed Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4
Round 2: Miladistra calls Deroff over and uses Medicine to stop the bleeding.
Medicine: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
Flat DC 15 vs Bleed: 1d20 ⇒ 6
Bleed Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 3
Round 3: Miladistra tries again.
Medicine: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
Flat DC 15 vs Bleed: 1d20 ⇒ 16
After 3 rounds, Arlen will gain 7 HP, Deroff will not change HP.

It's time to vote for another 2 people to get hero points. From what I've seen, only Torrent and Arlen have used hero points...

![]() |

I'll gladly turn down the rewards from saving people in exchange for a hero point! I may consider that when I'm GMing actually

![]() |

Arlen for rushing in to save civilians despite the danger.
Torrent for squishing those bugs good with some burst damage.

![]() |

Torrent for squishing the bugs (with twin crits too). And to Arlen for the suspense.

![]() |

well I won't say no to one since right now all i have is my campaign coin. Another hero point would be nice so I could use the new hero point when needed, and someone else can use my campaign coin if needed.
And Arlen bravely rushing in to save the merchants from the creatures deserves a hero point

Torrent and Arlen, have a hero point!
The previous vote (way back in the Blakros Museum) ended in a tie for Miladistra, Arlen and Torrent. We can either give three of you a hero point, or I can give Miladistra a hero point and leave the other for group hero points. I'll let you decide what you want to do -- this situation is a bit unusual since all of you started with more hero points than would be normal :)

We are pretty much done with the scenario except for the conclusion. Please make sure that your info in RPG Chronicles is accurate. If you want me to include your downtime in your chronicles you can roll them now if you did not do so at the beginning.

"Don't mind me. Just rolling downtime for the GM."
Tiger gives Deroff a pat and a firm scratch behind the ears, before heading off to the Lodge to give a talk on Warfare.
Downtime, Warfare Lore: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15

![]() |

Earn Income, Academia Lore: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13

![]() |

Deroff accepts all the scratchings and pettings in exchange for protecting the pack. He's in a such a good mood he seems to dance in concert with Miladistra's performance. Turns out people love dancing animals.
Performance: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27

Ah, good catch. I was trying to scare the prisoner into surrendering so we could interrogate him later. Initially I wanted to try to Charm him, but it seemed hard to land (incapacitate AND a +4 bonus since we attacked him? Nope.)

The game has been reported for Gameday. If there's nothing else, I'll be deactivating this thread tomorrow (15 November). Hope to see you in another table soon!

Deroff |

Good playing with you all.
Deroff is now a Large wolf and is available for lots of pettings.
