Tough to do because of their size, unless you somehow get into the middle of the mob.
DM Carbide
Something for 11th level!
DM Carbide
*whistles innocently, looks at ceiling*
Skarn Hornfels
Meh! I'm fairly confident in Skarn's ability to smoke this entire group of Ogres, and whatever those couple different ones are back there! With that said, rooms full of Storm and Cloud giants might need to be handled by a higher power than my poor cigar chewing drunkard!
DM Carbide
I think Nicolas Logue assumed a party with AoE damage spells to clear the mooks quickly, but your group is more martially focused.
Erond Niroden
|
Erond, how are you accessing a druid subdomain?
This was okayed by the previous GM under the rule under this rule.
"Other nature-themed classes with access to domains may select an animal or terrain domain in place of a regular domain."
DM Carbide
OK, I've seen what you did as a plausible interpretation of that rule (although I'm not sure why it wasn't mentioned as a character option for worshipers of Erastil or Gozreh in _Inner Sea Gods_, which was written after _Ultimate Magic_). Keep it, and you're up.
DM Carbide
I'll be traveling for work over the next week or so, and will only be able to post at night. Don't worry about botting me, though!
DM Carbide
Thanks for your patience, all--I got sick on travel, came back early, and spent a couple of days in hospital. I'm feeling OK except for being utterly wiped out most of the time, and should be able to catch up over the next day or so. (My work is being rather vehement about not coming back until at a minimum I've been checked by my doctor, and that won't happen until early next week. My followup with the surgeon will be late next week, so things may have to wait until then.)
Trox Ragmend
Oh no. Take your time and recover.
DM Carbide
I'm slowly getting back into things, and will try to get a post up in the next day or so.
DM Carbide
No, +4 from the cleric--it's the evangelist cleric's sermonic performance ability (normally +2/+2), plus use of a dervish sikke (+1 to inspire courage) and a three reasons to live (inspire courage as if 6 levels higher, so another +1).
The archaeologist bard (like Cordwin) gives up bardic performance in exchange for archaeologist's luck.
Skarn Hornfels
Ok Heroes, I head out to Scouts BSA Summer Camp tomorrow morning for a week. Wish me luck with that endeavor.
Following that, it is family reunion at a State Park for the next week.
If I pop in to the game, it will be quick, and not very substantial, so press on, and keep things moving.
DM Carbide
I'll be traveling for most of the next three weeks, and may or may not have my laptop with. Even if I do, posting will likely be slow. Don't worry about botting me!
DM Carbide
DM Carbide wrote:Don't worry about botting me!Dang it! My line about botting the GM is one of my best!
That can be taken in a couple of ways, you know.
DM Carbide
I'm once again the House GM for the PFS1e GameDay special, so I'll be slow(er) to post over the next few weeks.
DM Carbide
Have a good trip!
DM Carbide
We just wrapped up the special, so I should have more time going forward. I'll be traveling again this coming weekend, though.
DM Carbide
All, per the Paizo blog the boards are going down at 8PM GMT (or noon PST) on Monday 11/3, expected to be dark for 1-2 days while they put up the new store.
Trox Ragmend
Cant wait o see all the games dissapear.
DM Carbide
If any of you are in other games with Erond's player or Druamin's player, can you poke them about taking their turns? Thanks much.
DM Carbide
Glad you're still with us, Druamin.
I've got one more day of work before we close until January 5th, and have also been dealing with holiday prep. I'll try to get a post up before Christmas if Reynard and Erond act, but we'll see. If not, I hope you all have wonderful holidays!
Trox Ragmend
Happy holidays all. Glad this thing is still rolling along.
Trox Ragmend
My fellow players. DM Carbide is doing his best to keep the game going. Could we all commit to checking the board every couple of days. Failing that could we each make a commit to check at a regular interval?
This game will take decades if we keep not posting. It is very hard to keep mentally aware of what is going on at this pace.
DM Carbide
Thanks for the kind words, but this latest delay is on me, I'm afraid--I'd posted a clarification for Cordwin and Druamin, and then didn't come back to post the results of Skarn's attack. (That said, I'm pretty sure we've lost Erond, and I wasn't sure about Druamin for a while.)
DM Carbide
I'm here, and usually keep up my end of the action.
And I appreciate it.
This fight plus one more are the only combats to resolve before the end of Chapter 3, so yeah. Let's do this!
Reynard Freeman
If I check every time I see a post, I end up forgetting where we're at, paradoxically. Or else dominating conversations during non-battle. So I try to watch my campaign page and check in every 4-5 posts, to give the rest of the party space to take their turns/respond to dialogue. Which can be an issue if the DM asked me something immediately after I posted, everyone is waiting on my answer, and I'm not checking because I only see 1 New Post.
DM Carbide
I understand how that goes--I do something similar at least part of the time in the games I'm playing (as opposed to GMing). When I'm checking for new posts, though, I'll often go to the general Online Campaigns page and check who the latest post is from--if it's the GM posting I'm more likely to click to see whether they were responding to/asking for clarification from me.
Druamin
Thanks for the nudge. I'm probably the worst offender in terms of delaying. That's not what I want. I want to be an active poster. I've been playing PbP games for many years. At one time I had over a dozen active games going and was posting at least once per day in each. Somehow life has gotten busier over the years and I find it a struggle to get to my games (now I only have 3 active) as regularly as I should.
But, all that being said, I am trying and I will keep trying until I'm successful.
DM Carbide
I'll try to stay on top of things, too. I definitely sympathize, though...running 4 APs has gotten harder as the complexity increases. Handling 3 parties in the L3-L5 range plus you folks is much easier than 3 parties in the L5-L7 range plus you folks.
OTOH, I'll probably be retiring in mid-2027, and will have more time then!
