Lars the Crusader wrote:will save: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25@-6 Lars is running with Marthek
I did make an error here. The -4 and -2 are not cumulative. All enemies within 10' have a -2 on all saves not just fear but this does not stack with the -4. However, this did not make a difference for Marthek or Lars. They do not run but are paralyzed in fear for 1d4 rounds
fear Marthek: 1d4 ⇒ 2fear Lars: 1d4 ⇒ 4

Sorek |

Myrick and Sorek, what are you going to do?
Can Sorek hold his action til Myrick has tried to make his escape?
Don't think there's anything Sorek can do to save him. No one's chimed in with any ideas how to salvage this

brvheart |

Did the +4 from the Aura of Courage help?
It counters his Aura of Despair. We are waiting on you to get up, fight from prone, or play dead?

Myrick of Muir |

Okay, this is a bad spot to be in. As I read the rules I can go 5 feet as a move, maybe 10ft as a double move, I can make a withdraw action to avoid the free AoO.
"My soul is safe with the Lady! I will not submit!"
Myrick withdraws hoping to fight evil another day rolling to avoid the Skeleton Anti-Paladins sword and then tries to crawl to where he might get some help or be dragged from the room.

brvheart |

You can crawl 5 feet as a move action. Crawling incurs attacks of opportunity from any attackers who threaten you at any point of your crawl.
But it this case he is going to forgo it, "Stand and face me paladin!"

Myrick of Muir |

"Why did they seal you in this tomb?"
Myrick asks hoping to buy some time.
"Or did you scribe the runes yourself?"

Sorek |

this is a true cluster. Not sure what our goal is right now. Whether we are committing to a kamikaze blitz vs this melee monster anti paladin who will hit us with every swing of his sword or whether we're looking to make a tactical retreat. Regardless Sorek needs to take a move action to regain focus( wis to hit , dam and ac) So can't contribute to melee this round but looking at the map it looks like that wasn't an option anyway. THe best Sorek can contribute right now is to fire another ranged attack at the skeleton.....so fingers crossed
Sorek takes a move action to regain focus and then fires a ranged attack past Myrick at the skeleton
Ranged Psychokinetic Discharge +11 (2d6+6/19-20/x2 B,P,S/20 ft max range 10 increments)
ranged attack#1:: 1d20 + 11 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 11 + 1 = 31
damage#2: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
good damage vs evil: 1d6 ⇒ 1
Crit Confirm ranged attack#1:: 1d20 + 11 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 11 + 1 = 24
CRIT damage#2: 2d6 + 12 ⇒ (4, 1) + 12 = 17
good damage vs evil: 1d6 ⇒ 5
After firing the ranged attack he loses focus and his ac is 19 for the remainder of the round

He felt that. He takes a 5' step to get out of sight of Sorek and attack Lars and Myrick

One hit on Lars.
Father Stom is up.

Myrick of Muir |

With his dying breath Myrick shouts out!
”Go! Seal the door! Live to avenge me!”

This is looking grim.
I channel positive to heal then quick channel.
Channel Positive Energy: 6d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 4, 6, 3, 2) = 21 Excluding up to 4 bad guys within range
Channel Positive Energy: 6d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 1, 3, 3, 2) = 15 Excluding up to 4 bad guys within range
"Either fight or run, but I can't keep up this amount of healing any longer."

Myrick of Muir |

Won't your positive energy harm the undead? Or is that not in your build?
Didn't Lars flee and escape the round before?

brvheart |

A cleric in pathfinder can either channel to hear or harm undead and must chose each time they channel. It only lists Saracek of having an aura of fear but nowhere does it say what it does. I decided to change it to them cowering for 1d4 rounds so that the party did not lose both of them for the duration of the fight.

brvheart |

Top of round
Lom
Lars cowering
Marthek
Myrick dying
Sorek

Father Stom

Myrick of Muir |

Father Storm, Myrick is deader than a week old skunk in the number one lane of the I-90 business loop. Maybe target the undead before you have no more meat shields?”

I have a single channel left which 6d6 is pretty much not going to help anyone. I didn't build this cleric to be offensive and is really just a one trick pony of trying to heal everyone. I'm assuming that we are all going to die in this fight just simply based on how much damage you all are taking and how little you're doing. Though I'm not aware of a lot of characters even at level 20 that would avoid the 54 and 51 to hit numbers. Given that he can kill one or more of us per round on pure damage, I don't expect this to last all that long.

brvheart |

Marthek takes a 5' step and bashes the skeleton repeatedly with his club:
greatclub power attack raging: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (18) + 15 = 33 damage: 1d10 + 20 ⇒ (7) + 20 = 27
greatclub power attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18 damage: 1d10 + 20 ⇒ (5) + 20 = 25
greatclub power attack haste attack: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (20) + 15 = 35 damage: 1d10 + 20 ⇒ (1) + 20 = 21
confirm crit power attack haste attack: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (10) + 15 = 25 extra damage: 1d10 + 20 ⇒ (5) + 20 = 25
Marthek hits three times critting with the last attack leaving only a pile of bones.

"How injured is everyone besides the dead Myrick, nothing to be done there I'm affraid? If we could gather up real quick, I can use the last of my healing powers to get everyone back to full strength before we take a much needed long rest and recover our abilities."

Sorek |

Sorek watches as the barbarian smashes the death dealing skeleton to dust... Feeling great relief and yet great sorrow as his vision focuses back on Myricks body.
Responding to Storm's question I'm fine Sorek says feeling guilty about being untouched while others got torn apart by the skeletons blade.
He shuts and locks the door and returns to Myricks body to offer thanks for his sacrifice and a prayer for his worthy soul.
After that he begins searching the chamber for Magic loot etc

Sorek |

I guess we spend the night in the tomb of saracek consecrating it to be the Tomb of Myrick the Paladin who helped slay the foul anti-paladin.
In the morning the smart guys can take another crack at figuring out the shield properties.
and then down to the next level where we might be joined by Myricks new character????

Lomyldyr Dweo-Mercraeft |

In the morning Lomyldyr will take a second look at the shield.
