Almon Elros |

"Maybe just a touch of magic will help," says Almon.
He casts resistance on Nuala's familiar Icky (since Nuala has a cloak of resistance) and everyone else without a cloak.

brvheart |

Sorek checks from the hallway and still detects magic in the room.

brvheart |

You see skellies coming from the north. Make a Will save DC 15 vs fear. Everyone can make that Will save please. Frightful presence! Darrien, do you still have Aura of Courage for +4?

brvheart |

One of them looks different from the rest and bears two short swords. This creature looks like a skeleton with glistening black bones, seemingly constructed of blackened steel. Small red pinpoints of light burn in its hollowed eye sockets. As he shouts out to the rest, "Destroy them!"

brvheart |

Lars panics, drops everything in his hands and runs the opposite direction!

brvheart |

Might as well roll initiative also.
init Sorek: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
init Skeletons: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
init Black Skeleton: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18

brvheart |

brvheart |

Initiative Order Round One
Black Skeleton
Nuela
Sorek
skeletons
Darrien
Aggrammar
Almon
Lars

brvheart |

The black skeleton moves forward and attacks Aggrammar:
short sword: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19 damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5 plus Str: 1d3 ⇒ 1

brvheart |

And soon a lot of cowering in the corner! Nuela and Sorek are up. This is RA guys. It only gets worse from here.

Sorek |

Since when do Skeletons talk? This can't be good.
Seeing Aggrammar being attacked by this strange talking black skeleton, Sorek races forward to help his friend. And aims 2 rapid punches at the black skeleton's exposed rib cage
move: move next to Aggy

attack#2: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
damage#2: 2d6 + 5 ⇒ (1, 3) + 5 = 9
Soreks unarmed strikes are bludgeoning. hopefully bypassing skeleton DR

Aggrammar Deepdelver |

The black skeleton moves forward and attacks Aggrammar
What the hell? I was the first in line?
I am assuming the back skeleton eats an AoO then:
Longspear: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
"Are ye lads asleep or somethin?!" - the dwarf roars - "Where the hell are you Darrien?!" - he sputters.

Darrien Rossberg |

ha-ha! Never fear, Rossburg is here! Come you blackened corpse of frostbite! Let me show you a move that will be passed down for generations to come in the rossburg family!
He will move up to the skeleton and strike out
attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19 +2 if I can manage a flank
damage: 1d4 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Bypass DR/magic and or bludgeoning

WabbitHuntr |

hey Darrien I think this black skeleton is gonna be pretty tough for us. He's got at least dr/10 and he does str damage. Sorek bypasses bludgeon and magic dr and hit for 10 hp and didn't affect it . Might be a good time for that Bastion of good ability of yours.

Nuala Sataleeti |

Nuala casts Gravity Bow on her weapon and activates Studied Target on the Black Skele..

brvheart |

One of the skeletons moves up and attacks Sorek:
broken scimitar: 1d20 ⇒ 14 damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4
Darrien will have to delay at present as there is not a place for him to attack the Black Skeleton. Aggrammar is up.

brvheart |

Aggrammar's actions posted on Roll20:Caramir: If action gets on the move, mine will be to retreat and start inspire courage just so you and brvheart know I am presuming 5' step so he avoids the AOO

brvheart |

Upon a perusal of the rules section I think Darrien is correct and it does NOT halve ability damage. Noting this post:
Bastion of Good

Darrien Rossberg |

and unfortunately, most of my other stuff doesn't turn on for another level. But fear not! I have something that'll get through that DR... By the by, I have a +2 trait bonus on initiative, so its a +3 ;) sorry I missed it though m

brvheart |

Would you have wanted to take an AOO from the Black Skeleton to get next to him?

Darrien Rossberg |

I would have just bashed the nearest threat to others, so probably one of the other skelly. Wait for our resident reach user to back away so I can shift in my next turn.

Correct brvheart ;)
Everyone remember the +1 to hit and damage.
brvheart, are we actually damaging it, or..?

brvheart |

@Aggrammar you can't AOO flatfooted and you would have missed anyway. Darrien had already made his attack so a little late to switch opponents. He did hit it for 2. They would have filled in anyway. Still waiting on Almon.

I think I was unclear as usual. You are able to attack the black skeleton from the south. The question was whether you wanted to take an AOO to get to his east, but it appears no. While only slightly, you are the only one that has damaged it.

Sorek |

Unfortunate about Bastion of Good. When I first looked at it I thought great. 1/2 damage from hp, ability loss/drain, level drain, enervation etc etc.... Having it apply only to hp will still be good, just nowhere near the awesomeness that I thought it was

Darrien Rossberg |

well I figured it was hp damage only. Honestly I've rarely had ability damage in games so it doesn't normally pop up in my ideas. And in another level I think I can heal ability damage/drain as well as give 3 armor as a shield bonus.
