Looking for two more players for a cursed Dragon's Demand game. We are currently in part 3 (in the monastery) and players keep dropping. Well, I'm not unblameable in this case, but we'd like to finish this game. First two who check in here are in!
Short info: playing with non-PFS characters, but for PFS credit. For speed reasons I'd suggest you take a level 5 PFS character, make a copy and join the game (it's not allowed to mix PFS and non-PFS characters).

The masked elf walks in the lodge again, and announces in his loudest voice, ”It seems that the esteemed Venture-Captain Juberto Savarre already retired! I didn’t even get invited to the party… and I love parties…
"Anyway! Venture Captain Eliza Petulengro needs some adventurers to travel to Oparra for an opera… That can’t be right... but that’s what it says. Oh, well. Who’s interested?”
Among the Living (Tier 3-4). You can sign up here.
I signed up with a level 2. If that is not acceptable, please delete my entry from the sign-up sheet.

"Ugh," a dark haired kitsune woman groaned as she stumbled through the door. "I've lost me too many bets and I've got to get some work so I can pay those bastards back!" She scowled. "I knew I shouldn't have trusted Nerowic, that bloody bastard, he was settin' me up to lose from the beginning."
She didn't quite hiccup, but it didn't seem as though she wasn't going to either.
"Is there any work about here? I'm as green as the grass in spring and as wet behind the ears as the River Sellen, but I can promise a good dagger to anyone that's willin' to take me on."
Still working on my sheet a bit - total newbie to PFS, so I'm pretty nervous, but I've got some experience with PF in general. c: I'm hoping this is an appropriate introduction.
Zephyr of Azlant Spire |
I have no game to offer you, but your intro is fine, and welcome! Join the PFS horde!
There's a blueskinned woman in pirate regalia-- big tricorn hat, a blousy shirt, leather breeches and high boots-- sitting and drinking here, who grins broadly at the newcomer.
"Ah, an' I'm sure somethin' will show, neh? In the meantime, have a drink on me, and a seat by the fire."
Kaya Yoshida |
Still gotta sort through the PFS rules and finish with her card, to be honest, but the sentiment is much appreciated! As is the reassurance. <3 Popping into new things always makes me nervous. >~<
"My thanks," Kaya groaned, making her way over to the sea-dressed woman. She fell into a seat near her and smiled at her. "I'm Kaya," she announced, quickly accepting a tankard of ale. She wasn't one to turn down things that came free. "And possibly drunk. Or getting there. One of those."
She drowned her sorrows in the tankard at an impressive speed before staring down at the bottom of the now empty over-sized alcoholic mug. "Well, darn," she said, deadpan. "I should probably switch to lemon water. That went down a lil' too fast, if ya catch my drift."
She burped, loudly, startling herself. She stared, eyes wide, before covering her mouth. "'Scuse me," she muttered, before settling her arms on the counter before her - and endeavoring to burrow into them so as to hide from the world.
Zephyr of Azlant Spire |
If you have any PFS-related questions, folk here are happy to help.
The blue woman's boots are up on another chair, but there's still a free chair for Kaya. "Name's Zephyr. We've all been down on our luck a time or three, neh?"
She laughed a little at the prodigious drinking, nursing her own grog at a more sedate pace. "You're excused," she said cheerfully, and was content to let the other woman hide away with her reeling head as she would.
Kaya Yoshida |
That's great, because I've got a bunch! ;A; To start with, do I just pick a faction? Or is there a story way of falling into one? Thanks in advance c:
Kaya whimpered, embarrassed. Oh, if her mother could only see her now - she'd no doubt the woman would've boxed her ears - or maybe just tugged on them a lot. She shuddered at the idea, hands protectively covering the appendages.
"Stupid Nerowic," she grumbled. "A time or three'd be nice," she remarked to Zephyr, before adding mournfully: "I think I'm on fourteen."
Baied Eldourha |
I' sure an opportunity will show up sooner or later, and we'll be able to capitalize on it.
says a copper skinned half elf who was sipping her own drink not too far from Kaya on the counter.
You shouldn't waste your money on bets, maybe. That's a valuable lesson. Of course, some people may argue that trade is a kind of bet, but at least you know some of the rules, where betting is just a game of luck.
Zephyr of Azlant Spire |
You just pick a faction! Some of them fit better with certain builds than others. For instance, The Exchange can be a decent fit for a rogue, because many of the faction goals and missions will often be things a rogue is usually good at (but not always). I assume you've read the basic rundowns of the factions, but if not, there's a link.
Zephyr barked a loud laugh to 'fourteen', and raised her mug in a wry toast. When the half-elf joined in the conversation, Zephyr grinned whitely.
"Luck's well and good, but the cunning sailor learns the winds before gambling on them."
Kaya Yoshida |
I'd been planning for the Exchange, so that makes me feel better. c: I got confused, because I was looking at something in the FAQ that mentioned the First Steps and picking your faction through that. x_x
Okay, I'mma do equipment and gear at some point not now. x_x 3:49am! I think everything else is okay, though?
"An opportunity would be welcome indeed," Kaya sighed. "I usually don't bet with money. I bet favors and I usually win, too!" The kitsune frowned. "But Nerowic bought my favors from the few I'd lost to and that arse used 'em to bet against me, so I had to bet, you know?" She sighed. "He's just not the kind of person you want to owe favors to."
Kaya frowned, staring longingly at the empty tankard she'd decided against for the time being. "He said I could buy my favors back, so that's what I'll be tryin' ta do. I don't want him usin' 'em, after all."
She called for some lemon water and sipped at it. She'd want to drink more water if she wanted to be any use on the off chance that someone came by with work.
Baied Eldourha |
So that Nerowic did a kind of tender offer that wasn't so tender to your eyes? A takeover of your favors? Let's pray Abadar that you soon gain enough money to get out this bargain.
I'm from the Exchange faction too, as it could suit a follower of Abadar. I think you can change faction before you get to level 2, if you don't like the one you're in. But I may be mistaken. Welcome to the game all the same!

"Pathfinders, all think they are Core, but you know, some arn't..." moans the messenger.
"Dreng has a single spot upon on a Core team to do some work for him.."
One spot open for a Core character for the Wounded Wisp. Post here, if there is more than one applicant by the time I log in next, I'll roll for it. But please, make sure your character is Core not Classic.
Zephyr of Azlant Spire |
Core and Classic are two different systems of organized PFS play. One uses only the material from the Core rulebook, meaning your character can't utilize anything else (no races, classes, spells, domains, gear, etc) that aren't included within. (More or less. This is a simplification but gets across the basics.) Classic is open to whatever materials you own.
If any of the new players reading this haven't yet, you ought to check out the PFS guide, as it has answers to a lot of things you'll probably wonder about!

Hugo hears that Dreng is looking for some new Pathfinders, and he stands up, ready to answer the call.
"Hugo ready! Have club, will travel."
Level 1 core barbarian, kind of a cross between Tarzan and Captain Caveman. Needs some civilization practice, so Wisp might be good for him...

A halfling walks into the lodge with a parchment in hand. Seeing everyone is eagerly discussing something, he jumps onto a chair, and pins a note to the notice board. He then turns around and starts speaking loudly to get the patrons' attention.
"Ahem - For anyone who is interested, Master Shaine is looking for one agent to fill up a hole in the group that is about to return from their investigation of Kortos Mountains. The details are on the note I just brought. That would be all, thank you."
He jumps off the chair and heads for the bar to get a sip of ... anything, really.
We're just wrapping up the Confirmation scenario, but I'll run the other two evergreens ( Wounded Wisp, Master of the Fallen Fortress ). These will both be classic. Sign up can be found here. I'll run a lottery tomorrow, due to timezones and probability of multiple candidates.
Currently in the party: Bloodrager, Inquisitor, Kineticist, 2 x Rogue

Ferabras |
A broad-shouldered figure enters the Flaxseed Lodge and looks about with an uncertain air. He’s built like a normal man, though a very strong one, but his crimson skin is criss-crossed with dark scars and strange, slender horns protrude from the top of his head. He keeps his sinuous, barbed tail tucked self-consciously close to his back, and his hands seem to move constantly, as he balls them into fists to hide his long, black claws, then opens them again for fear that he looks threatening standing there with his fists clenched. He wears a suit of well-made banded mail, and small shield hangs at his shoulder. Protruding above the other shoulder is a great, black blade.
He smiles, revealing teeth like obsidian shards, then says, "I wonder if someone could help us out?"
Hello! Wondering if there's a PbP GM out there who would like to pick up running Sior's Masks of the Living God module, since he has dropped off the boards? Most of the group played Crypt of the Everflame together, and have now moved on to tricking Razmirans. We're not very far in - we have just finished the unarmed arena fight (trying not to spoiler too much here), but I don't know how much more of the module that leaves us. It's a fun group and we'd like to keep the game going if possible. If it's an issue, I'd be happy to buy and gift the module to a new GM. Thanks in advance for any inquiries or interest!
Soran Fletcher |
Right behind the tiefling comes a young man, dressed in forest greens and browns. A very well made dark wood bow is slung over his shoulder, and a tiny clockwork dragonfly flits from shoulder to shoulder, almost as if it's trying to see the whole room at once and can't find a vantage to do so. He clasps Ferabras on the back and laughs.
Relax Fera. I guarantee you no one in here finds you as threatening as you think. At the very least, I'll vouch for you if someone gets... rowdy.
He orders two drinks, slides one to the tiefling and speaks to the crowd.
What he said.
Kaya Yoshida |
"Don't you burn me an' I won't burn you," Kaya greeted. "Anyways, I've bigger problems that how ya look." She paused, eying his drink. The stuck a hand in her pocket to consider the coins she had left before sighing heavily and deciding against getting another drink.
Lemon water. Lemon water was best for her.
I don't have a whole lot of gear - my kit's actually super minimal. General question: should I trade out the MW thieves tools for other gear, or could I get by on what I've got 'til I've earned some from my first grand adventure? Thanks in advance!
@Zephyr: That link was super helpful! Thank you. c:
Zephyr of Azlant Spire |
Zephyr looked amused at Kaya's internal struggle. "You'll need ta be sober you get an assignment," she pointed out with a smile. "What's in that rucksack of yours, anyhow--"
She craned her neck to see.
- One potion of CLW for when it needs to be poured down someone's throat-- including yours
- A rope
- Grappling hook nice but maybe not necessary
- Crowbar nice but maybe not necessary (they're both heavy items and encumbrance suck for rogues)
- Powder (for throwing at unseen critters)
- Oil of bless weapon (Cuz dang does DR/evil suck at low levels)
- Oil of magic weapon (Cuz dang does DR/magic suck at low levels)
- Earplugs - one of the cheapest circumstantial save bonuses available
- A way to make light
- A ranged weapon - slings are free and slingstones are cheap, if heavy
- A weapon to get over each of the three damage types. Clubs are free too!
- At least one splash weapon; acid flasks are the cheapest
- Masterwork backpack if weight is a concern
- Class-specific gear, like your tools. I would say you could easily get by with normal thieves' tools until after your first mission, then upgrade to masterwork. Remember that until you actually play a game at level 2, you can resell any bought gear at fullprice and then buy different versions as needed.

The archer, curious as to what's going on, peeks in as well.
First mission, eh? I recommend taking a couple of bandoliers. Keeps all the potions and wands you need in easy reach. Beats having to dig in your backpack when you really need that holy water. Pitons are good to have around, and caltrops are always nice. I also like to take some smoke pellets and smokesticks with me, for when I need to disappear fast.He takes another drink and shrugs.
I also recommend using the recognition you get from your first mission to buy a wand of healing. You might not be able to use it yourself, but chances are someone else in your group can. You don't want to be reliant on someone else to heal you up after a fight.
Almost everyone uses their first 2 prestige points to buy a wand of cure light wounds. It's the most useful thing you'll get for the price.
This character is loaded out with my basic rogue/skill character load out. Just about all of the non-magical gear he's carrying can be purchased for 150 gp or less.
Kaya Yoshida |
"Think it's up to snuff?" she asked, eyeballing the two nervously. Seeing as she was new, they had more experience than her, so... Well, any advice was good advice.
Okay, I amended her stuff - thank you for the suggestions! I'll be sure to read more about prestige points and such to see about that wand, too.

I've got a game coming to a close shortly, so it's recruitment time again! This time, it's for Trial by Machine, a 1-5 game that has a heavy focus on Numerian tech. Link to my sign up sheet is HERE
A familir, leather clad man walks into the tavern, digs a notice out of one of the many pockets in his long adventuring coat, and sticks it on the board with a dagger.
Oy! New and new-ish pathfinders, there's a mission up for you! Seems there is an obstacle course being put together for testing our fine members, and the Venture Captains want someone to test it out and make sure it isn't to easy. If you think you're the one for the job, sign up!
He then rearranges his rapier on his hip for a more comfortable sitting experience, and takes a seat at the bar.
Kaya Yoshida |
"Uhhh, I'll duck," Kaya said, her expression serious. "They'll miss and then I'll run like mad." Her demeanor cracked and then she chuckled. "I've a sling in there somewhere."
Okay! I added a club and the sling. I had more capacity at 10 str than I thought I did, lol. Thanks so much for the input and advice!
I signed up for the Trial by Machine. I think I did it right?
At the announcement, Kaya perked up. "A job! Work! Money!" She made for the notice, scrawling her name on it with someone else's wayward pen.

I'd be please to join your group, to our mutual benefice, of course.
Signed!
The halfling looks up from his drink: "You go on talk to Shaine, then. They should be delivering their reports any time now."
Table link. I'll be handing out report sheets in a few hours along with a debrief.
As for the rest of the lottery participants, I appreciate the interest, but we only have slot for one. Good luck!
Graxzos Glyphkeeper |
A sun-bronzed dwarf has been sitting in a corner, downing mug after mug of ale, and looking morose. When Na'Yaa walks into the tavern, he looks up blearily from his mug.
"Such a long journey back from th'Expanse...Cayden's sweet brew and Gorum's brass balls, that long onna ship an' I jus' need t'shoot somethin'...what th'hells, I'll bite." Crossing over, he swipes the pen from Kaya and smudges something that's probably supposed to be his signature across three lines of the sign-up area. "There!" He glances at Kaya. "Glad t'be workin' wit' yah, lady. Sounds like it should be a simple enough thing. Pharasma knows I need a break!"
Signed up with Grax here; if you'd rather keep everyone in the same tier, just let me know, I'll bow out with no hard feelings. :)
Kaya Yoshida |
"Good luck with your bit!" Kaya said to Baied. The lucky soul was off on an adventure!
To the dwarf, she grinned. "Just Kaya, good sir!" She squinted at his scrawl. "...Grapes? Glyphhooker? Nice to meet you! Are you a sailor then?"
The Dude With No Name |
Congratulations to Baied, thanks to GM NotEspi for the consideration, and happy adventuring to all!
The Dude looks from the small drawstring bag to his hand rolled cigarette and then back again. He smiles a wide grin and soundlessly laughs.
Kel Na' Yaa |
Just a reminder, I still have two spots open in my Trial by Machine game. We'll get started on Monday, since we already have a legal table, but if there are two more pathfinders who wish to test their mettle, feel free to sign up!

In the ruins of Xin-Bakrakhan, seat of power of the Runelord of Wrath, the Pathfinder Society stands on the verge of a great discovery, but first the brave agents exploring the ruins must survive ages-old dangers and contemporary threats to return with the knowledge and wealth they’ve unearthed.
Looking for two to three more players for PFS 4-02: In Wrath's Shadow (3rd - 7th), with a player preference of lower tier.
DM Beckett |
Ok, but I think I've already run you through this one.
Kel Na' Yaa |
Kel stands and gestures to the four who signed up.
Right then, it looks like they'll have to make do with four for this trip. Kaya, Papy, Lissa, and Graxos, you four come with me.
He starts heading out the door, but calls back over his shoulder.
The Captain asked for six, so if two more of you want to sign up, meet us at The Laughing Lizard!
Recruits, sign in HERE

"Here's to hoping I don't muck it up!" Kaya grinned. She waved cheerfully at Zephyr before following the recruiter out the door.
