I recall a few years ago there was a survey for Seeker level characters and classes…I cannot recall if any achieved 20th level due to limited scenarios and opportunities to play.
My highest level PFS PC never passed 17th. I was not able to find that list but it would be outdated. :)

There were a number of characters that used AP credits to get to 19.2 and then played in Race for the Runecarved Key in the Seeker tier, as the subtier did not have a cap, instead being 12+.
That's gotten easier thanks to the bonus adventure included in AP144, giving another option for that 1XP, on top of the final sanctioning of Tyrant's Grasp, Return of the Runelords, and Wrath of the Righteous allowing any of the credits to be applied at any character level.
Haven't done it myself, still working through the high level modules, but I imagine our AP plays will allow one of my characters to hit 20 at some point. I'll probably be retired by then, however.

EbonFist |

It looks like it's also an ability that you get at 20th level, which means that you would have to somehow get enough credits together to get to 20th level AND THEN play another scenario to use it.

What are the means (or where's a good place to find a comprehensive compendium) by which a Society character may achieve skill specialization (a nice little mechanics innovation to come out of Society) other than class levels or feats? I know there are some Faction Rewards in that vein.
At the moment I'm most hoping there's some such way a Sovereign Courtier could get it in Knowledge (Planes).

So, Colin_Mercer, what is up with this sprawling House Rosenthal of yours???

So, Colin_Mercer, what is up with this sprawling House Rosenthal of yours???
I though it would be interesting to have all my character in one big family partially inspired by 無職転生 〜異世界行ったら本気だす〜 light novel series
As I GM more and more, I come across many exotic race boons. I managed to came up with interesting build and concepts with them, and gifted many more boons away, but I do find fitting Android/Aphorite/Tiefling/Catfolk/Changeling/Samsaran/Drow/Merfolk/Dhampir/ Skinwalker into a human/elf centric family quite challenging......

![]() |

Is it still possible to get some of those racial boons?

Colin_Mercer |

Is it still possible to get some of those racial boons?
Through convention GM Boon/RSP GM Boon/charity auction, yes for some of them.
I gifted away 7 of them last year to my player friends who can come up with interesting character with them. If you're interested in them let me know, when I get my hands on more of them you may have one.

![]() |

I know I'd like to play a merfolk in PFS1. To get some in this country, I'd probably have to organise a charity auction.

I'm curious: Anyone got an Elongated Cranium around here - and if so, how's that worked out for you?

EbonFist |

If you're intending to GM for Outpost VIII and need scenario support, please submit your request by Monday, February 3rd.
After that point, you can still register to GM but scenario support will not be available.

I'm DMing In Your Closet |

Oh good, I thought it was already too late to register at all!
BTW, what does "scenario support" entail?

If you're running a PFS scenario Paizo will email you the scenario for free.
For example I'm considering running a table of a PFS1 scenario and I have until Monday to decide or I'd need to purchase the scenario out of pocket in order to have it available.

Eso es todo, huh? Well, I already own the Scenario I've registered to run, but I guess I'll be obliged to keep that in mind in the future!

GM Redelia |

Hello wonderful players, gamemasters, and community members.
I am trying to pull together some thoughts about what we do in our lodges (the result is hopefully going to become something like a mission statement for our lodges here on the forums, or at least what the VO team is trying to do), and would like to collect any ideas you want to share before I even sit down to start sketching out ideas. If there is anything you would like to share for the forums VO team to think about, please let any of us know. You are welcome to post in any of the lodge discussion threads, send any of us a PM here on the forums, or contact any of us on Discord or by email. My email is on the domain orgplayonline.com and has the same username that I use here without the GM prefix.
Thank you in advance for any thoughts or ideas you send.
Once we have something written up, we will be asking for your input again. We have an amazing community here, and I want to come up with something that can help us get even better as well as celebrating what we have.

I'm sorry, I'm a little puzzled by this; what, exactly, are you asking us for, and to what exact end?

GM Redelia |

I am not asking for any particular thing. And I won't know what end until I see the generated ideas and thoughts. It's open ended because there isn't something in particular.
I'm trying to come up with a document of some kind that explains what we do here, and what we want to do. I want to try to talk about what we value as a community. I don't feel like I can ask specific questions, because when you ask questions, you are already sort of determining the direction answers can go.

GM Aarvid |

Thank you for asking. :)
I will put some thoughts out here. I have been on these forums for many years and appreciate all the efforts and support by Paizo and the online VO team.
I have primarily played and run PFS1 and some SFS but never made the leap to PFS2
Please continue online forums/lodges and conventions and game days. Very much appreciated.
I would be interested in seeing the number of games reported by version over time and how much longer each version may receive support. Eventually there may not be critical mass for the older versions.
Otherwise keep up the great work. Recognize the tireless GM that continue to run games. Call out new 5 star players etc
Thank you.
GM Aarvid

GM Aarvid, your avatar looks like (a slightly younger version of) the deranged villain in the B-movie I saw last night (in fact, he is reminiscent of more than one such).

Yes, that was me. :) Or was it deja vu from Groundhog's Day? Muahahahhah!

GM Redelia |

GMs who are running Outpost games here on the forums, can you please post your threads to the signup spreadsheet before February 6 (the start of general player signup)? If your game is FCFS, what's most urgent is to post your gameplay link, because your players need to be able to dot in when they sign up. If you're doing GM choice or lottery, we need your recruitment link so players can apply as soon as signups start.
If you have any questions about this or if this is your first forum game and you need help setting up your threads and campaign, please post here or ask any of the forum VOs and we'll help.

Please clarify for me: Is CORE JUST material from the Core Rulebook and the Society essentials?
That might be too restrictive for me, but I've long-thought I could have fun with a 'midway' - say, only CORE classes, but archetypes of those classes from broader sources, or CORE plus Advanced Player's Guide.

Colin_Mercer |

Limited Resources: Core Campaign PCs are limited to using the Pathfinder RPG Core Rulebook, Pathfinder Society Roleplaying Guild Guide, and the Pathfinder RPG Character Traits Web Enhancement when building their characters.
Campaign Errata: Core Campaign characters must follow the rules set out in the Additional Resources, FAQ, and Campaign Clarifications issued by the campaign staff via paizo.com, just like Standard Campaign characters.
Unfortunately it's very restrictive.
Another difficult question about CORE campaign is that whether rule elements (NOT character options) found outside the resource allowed in CORE campaign are in effect or not.

![]() |

Nope. Just the core books. And basic traits. If it is not in them, it is not Core. That is the whole point of it.

EbonFist |

In case anyone has forgotten/not noticed, GM Early Registration for Outpost VIII is open.

Aren't options made available through Chronicle Sheets then made part of the Core campaign? e.g. Chronicle Sheets gives you access to non-core PrC, can you then take it with your Core PC?
PFS Season 10 Guide:
"Chronicle Sheets: Items listed on Chronicle sheets
earned in the Core Campaign are valid options for Core
characters. Promotional boons and other Chronicle
sheets that open up new race options otherwise can’t be
used in the Core Campaign."

GM Redelia |

I am not aware of any.
The diciest issue I can think of is the spellslinger wizard archetype from Ultimate Combat which a chronicle sheet opens up, but I don't think that creates problems because the boon is meant to be used on another character, not the character who earned it, and so you can just apply it to a non-core character.

GM_Colin |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

There are actually several scenario's chronicles that unlock Prestige Class(es) that're outside the Core Rulebook. Something something about rune, something something about alchemy...I will refrain from naming the exact scenario here. If there's enough interest, I may be persuaded to run CORE games that may or may not has those chronicles.....
Needless to say, none of those options are more powerful than most thing you can find in Advanced Player's Guide, so it works just fine in CORE campaign.

![]() |

There is also a way to play a non core race.
But they are all very limited. Actually, non Core spells crept into the Core campaign as well now I think about it. I personally think that was a mistake, but I totally understand why they did it.

Hey, I'm struggling to figure out how to post dialog for my boy Tusk here. Are there any translators out that that will translate into normal English into something crude/low brow? When I try I keep slipping in and out of it.
Heck, in general, are there free and good tools out there that allow you to maintain a consistent dialect for your character? I did a search, but after my add blocker nixed a couple of them I thought I might just ask here.

EbonFist |

You might try running your dialogue through one of the LLM programs with a prompt like "Make this sound cruder/low brow" or "make this sound like X" where X is a character/personality from media that you think Tusk sounds like.

I always wanted to get a group together to run Non-Core adventures, where it would be the exact opposite of Core: the only options allowed would be those that were NOT in the CRB. I think that would be *really* challenging.
Skills would be a major challenge in a game like that, though.

No Cure X Wound, No range feat, No power attack, no Haste, no Adamantine? Yeah it would be very challenging.
A Swashtigator will probabdy do just fine, and a Unchained Rogue 3 / Kineticist should be alright as well.
Chronicles suddenly becomes a lot more interesting for the amount of CORE stuff that's on it lol

I'm DMing In Your Closet |

OK, it's been a while and I've never mastered the technical side of this, could someone help me set my game up?

![]() |

EbonFist |

If that doesn't work for you, let me know and I'll walk you through the process (I'll have to remember how to do it myself. I always seem to get there by accident.)

I'm DMing In Your Closet |

Alright, I think I've set up shop (at least enough so for now)! Look good?
No takers on the registry yet; I hope what I've just done will rectify that in time.

miteke |

Alright, I think I've set up shop (at least enough so for now)! Look good?
I would fill out the campaign info. There is a short description section and a full description section. The short description (which I think of as the title) section is a good place to put links to slides/maps etc. and is an appropriate place to repeat the name of the scenario. Anything you put there will show up at the top of your gameplay and discussion threads AND in the summary shown when the players are looking at all their campaigns.
The body is a good place to store a list of rules and such you want followed, or info about you as a GM. It will not be visible unless a player goes there. Personally, I use it as a place to store my combat card template and init rolls.
Note for later: a third section is also used to define the players and characters in your game. If someone leaves you or dots in with the wrong character you can use this to get them out of your players/characters tabs and help them out by getting it off their campaign list.

![]() |

I've always been curious about your avatar, miteke; why that? It makes me think of Rodney Dangerfield.

EbonFist |

Will all GM's for Outpost VIII please add/make sure that the thread for your campaign is posted on the spreadsheet?

DM Carbide |

Solstice Scar GMs: please dot in to the GM thread HERE if you haven't yet done so. Have any of you gotten your copies of the module yet?
