@Daniel: Healing would be great. At the very least someone who could do reliable out-of-combat healing, such as reliably use our wand of CLW or lesser restoration. In-combat healing is rarely that helpful in my experience.
@All: I'm interested in the following. Shard of Pride as Oster is often the group face.
handy haversack (winter blanket, bedroll, survival kit, trail rations (5), 50' silk rope, grappling hook, chalk (5), fishhook (2), soap, oilflask, wolfsbane, wooden holy symbol)
tanglefoot bagx3
antiplague
2 waterskins filled with healing water
golembane scarab
Shard of Lust(+2CHA, +4Init, +2v.ench, suggestion SLA 1/day)

Hello! I'm one of the ones that Daniel was asking. Joanna was originally for a Shattered Star game that petered out, and I'm excited to get another chance to play her again. I'll be working on getting her up to snuff and tweaking some things in her background.
Oster Catus
Hello Joanna!
It appears that we share a few games already. :)
AdamWarnock
Indeed we do! Don't worry, Joanna's a different cat from Allysen and Talliree. It's going to be fun playing her and with her.
By the way, are we rolling for HP? I'd been assuming average rounded up while building her for this game.
Oster Catus
Good stuff!
It's roll or take average. I've gone with the latter for Oster.
Joanna Whitehall
Think I'll stick with average with the way I've been rolling lately. I'd probably wind up with only 25 hp if I rolled.
HP: 10 + 7d10 + 8 ⇒ 10 + (1, 1, 9, 9, 6, 9, 10) + 8 = 63 ...or with three higher than average. I said I'm sticking with average, though, so that's what I'll do.
Well, back to Joanna's sheet. I lost some work when Hero Lab tanked on me. Thankfully not too much.
Tatsuo Arashi
Welcome!
Since we now have another spellcaster, I think our new paladin should take the
- wand of clw-45
- wand of lesser restoration-17
- wand of bless-3
so I don't have to roll UMD for them. I'll hold onto the
- wand of spiritual weapon-10
- wand of charm-19
Joanna Whitehall
Oh nice. We'll be set for healing for a while then. (Gots a brand new wand for Joanna here.)
And here's Joanna's stats, ready for review. I took the liberty of adding the wands. I'll have her background and other bits updated this weekend.

So you kinda get a 3 for 1 with Joanna. She's a fighter, a healer, and can double as the bard in a pinch. :P

Cool. I'm almost done. I made a few tweaks (Moved some skill points around so Joanna could speak a few languages) and I"m just finishing up the fluffy bits.
Joanna Whitehall
And I'm done. :)
If the GM will allow, I'll go ahead and post an introduction.
Also, I'm low on funds, so she's going to be playing for coin. :)

Apologies for delay. This week has been tricky for me getting to update pbp.

I'm putting this here as to not clutter up the game thread.
I know exactly where our rescuee is because I do have and have read the entire Shattered Star AP, and for some weird reason I can recall details like that fairly easily. However, Joanna doesn't know that and I never said that she went looking into those rooms that we got descriptions for, which leads me to something that I've noticed about the GM's playstyle versus mine that I've been wondering if I should bring up.
I was surprised to see that there were less than 3,000 posts in this game. As I looked into, I began to realize why. It appears that the GM has cut out a lot of character interaction and keeps things to the barebones. There's nothing wrong with that, but just to give you an idea of what I'm used to, the other Shattered Star game that I played in (with this character as a matter of fact) had over 7,500 posts, and we'd just gotten to the end of book 2. I'm used to whatever is behind the door being a mystery until it's revealed. I'm used to there being plenty of character interaction and time to really get into our characters and having a chance to banter a bit.
When the GM posted all of the room descriptions at once, I was puzzled. I figured he did it to save time for when we move from room to room, so I fell back on what would Joanna logically know. She hasn't scouted any of the rooms, she hasn't looked into any windows because her concern was getting the four of us up onto the walkway first. My question is how would she know about any of the things in the rooms described? If Joanna did know about a troll being tortured in the top of the other tower, then of course she would have gone that way.
And this brings me to something that's been nagging at me but hadn't really crystalized until just now. I love this medium for playing because it gives me a chance to really dig into my characters and play them as if I was writing a novel for them. I lept at the chance to play because I thought I saw an opportunity to play a character I loved again. I'm starting to realize that this isn't the game I thought it was going to be. I feel like threads that I'd laid down in the hopes of giving the GM something to work with and tie my character in tighter to the narrative aren't going to be picked up because they aren't part of the AP.
So yeah, I didn't go towards the troll because I didn't think Joanna would have known about it. I don't think the way this game is run is going to be compatible with the way I like to play. I'm not the guy that does speed runs. I like to look around and explore things. I like having a chance to flex my writing muscles.
In short, I don't think I am the player y'all were looking for, and I don't think this is the game I was hoping for when I heard about it.
Oster Catus
Cheers for your input, Joanna.
I'd be sorry to see you go. Some interesting friction between Joanna's approach and Oster's.
Tatsuo Arashi
FWIW, Tatsuo was suggesting looking in all of the windows/would have suggested it in order to get in, rescue the guy, and get out. It avoids unnecessarily killing people we run into, and it's not like Tatsuo is there to rob the guy, so he's trying to minimize risk.
I also hope we manage to work things out anyway, as I've enjoyed Tatsuo's interactions with Joanna.

Hi all
So it's been brought to my attention that a number of you would like more npc interaction, more ties in with your backstories and more fleshing out of the game world.
Unfortunately due to time constraints and real life activities this is something that I don't really have the time or ability to do. As such I think it's best if we call it a day for the game here.
Thank you for playing.
Dan

Fair enough.
Thank you for running this campaign, Dan, and all the best.
Joanna Whitehall
Thank you and I wish you the best.
