On a similar note, I'm going to be traveling for work Monday evening through Wednesday, and there's a good chance I won't have time to post during that time. Bot me as necessary.
Oster Catus
My phone died yesterday, hence no posting.
Oster Catus
I have a working phone again! Once the headset charges.

If we move during our turn, should we be moving our own tokens on the map?
Oster Catus
Understood. I've been busy myself.
Memnosyne
I have to do one more bout of travelling. This will probably be it for a while though. Looks like Tues thru Sunday. Will do my best to check in as I can, but no guarantees. Apologies in advance

We are heading out camping today until Friday. No Internet. If Calvon has another turn before I come home, he's going to do another scorching ray just like the one I just cast.
Oster Catus
Head cold here. I should be still posting daily, but it's a heads up in case I can't.
Calvon

So, which one of us is taking the wand of fly?
Tatsuo Arashi
I'm fine either way. Really, it's more likely we'll just use it out of combat anyway.
Oster Catus
My posting may be patchy this weekend. I doubt I'll get to post tomorrow.
Oster Catus
I may not get to post again before the weekend.
Tatsuo Arashi
Does anybody remember anything about the dog-like sinspawn? Namely if they do energy damage at all? I'm guessing they didn't when we last faced them, so Resist Energy wouldn't be that useful. That means the only buff spell I'd want to cast before heading in would be Shield on myself.
Oster Catus
I may not get to post before Friday evening.

so, Oster has a shard and Xango has a shard. I believe the effects of the lust shard are: +2 to save vs enchantment, +4 to init, and can use suggestion as SLA 1/day. I think the ioun gives +2 CHA(enhancement). I'd say give it to Tatsuo, though the CHA won't stack w/his headband, so he may wish to trade that to someone else. Oster and I also would benefit from a CHA boost (affects my channels and skills and his skills).
Oster Catus
Oster has something of a silver tongue, though I suspect Tatsuo could use it more.
Tatsuo Arashi
@Calvon: It's +4 to initiative, not to Intelligence.
And unless the shard is going to level up that Cha bonus as we progress (or there's some other way of upgrading it), it seems like I might be better off just keeping the headband. Otherwise, I'm just going to end up swapping it out for when I have enough money for a +4 headband of Charisma.
Memnosyne
if Tatsuo isn't interested, I'd like to nab it. I think we'll all benefit from the bonus to my channels (notice I can now use channels both to heal and to harm). It will give me one more per day and improve the DC. And, the bonuses to initiative and vs enchantment may come in handy as well

Loot (includes previous fight)
- Shard of Lust (Mem)
- wand of dimension door (14 charges) (should go to either me or Calvon)
- boots of haste (Xango or Oster depending on a coin toss)
- boots of striding and springing (whichever of Xango or Oster doesn't get the haste boots)
- a bag of holding type 2 (I already have a handy haversack, so someone else can carry this)
- Orb of consumption
- an immovable rod
- goggles of night (Mem is the only one who currently has Darkvision, so anybody except her)
- a whispering coin (probably Calvon since I assume the ancient language is Thassilonian and I think he's the only one who speaks it)
- ring of minor electricity resistance (probably someone who isn't me since I already have resistance 5)
- 4 Potions of cure serious wounds (I would suggest Xango and Oster each get one. Not sure about the other 2)
- dust of appearance (1 dose)
- dust of dryness (1 dose)
- dust of illusion (1 dose)
+1 light fortification breastplate
+1 keen guisarme
6600 gp in gems and gold
I personally am not particularly interested in anything other than the cash. The orb might be useful for me except that it seems kind of hard to use without incurring friendly fire.
Oster Catus
I'm keen on the boots of haste and goggles of night. Oster is most likely to move farther ahead of the rest of the group.
If no one else is keen on holding them, Oster is fine with carrying the immovable rod and the bag of holding 2.

So, the wand of dimension door seems more suited for Tatsuo. I'm not much for sneaking behind enemies for any reason, even moving Oster into a sneak attack.
I am willing to take the coin. It seems like it might be slightly useful.
The goggles or the ring would be handy but not necessary.
I would like to take one of the potions, just in case I need it at some point.
I don't think I'd use the orb or any of the dust as much or as well as someone else might.
Are we splitting the 6,600 in gems and gold right now?
Oster Catus
I'll work out what Oster is trying to buy once we have a final gold count.
Tatsuo Arashi
Sounds like no one wants the +1 keen guisarme, so I guess we're selling that as well, but keeping everything else. The one other question is are we splitting the gold evenly or are we doing something where the people who took items get less of the cash to keep the overall value of loot per player about even (typically I've seen groups say items count as their sell value worth of gold for purposes of divvying things up)?
Oster Catus
Perhaps this loot split system could work out?
Right I've got a proposal that might work if people find it agreeable.
Any equipment picked up a character can take up and use. Any items not claimed for use are sold off and added to the gold which is then divided evenly. If a claimed item is later sold (as a better one is found or they buy an upgrade) then the value of it is split among everyone.
If of course someone uses their share of the gold to buy an item it is their item and if later sold the gold is entirely theirs.
Consumable items get used, it's what they are there for. If you guys are buying 'group items' like the Wand of CLW ye are going to discuss it beforehand and work something out. For CLW probably everyone will pitch in... a hard rule on this isn't needed as it'll be a case by case basis. I could see a party with a sorceror and monk having just the two of them buy a wand of mage armour between just the two of them
How does this sound, I'm trying to avoid a huge post.
Tatsuo Arashi
My main concern with that is the extra bookkeeping you have to do to keep track of what you bought with your own money vs what was loot. If it's a suitably unique item, you'll probably remember, but if it's just, say, a +1 weapon, you're going to have to find a way to remember it was loot/that you should split the gold if you sell it.
Oster Catus
Perhaps jot an asterix next to party items in the sheet?
But yes, that's a valid concern. Easy to forget to mark off stuff.
Memnosyne
we've pretty much been distributing the gear to whoever can use it, selling everything else, and evenly dividing it. Regarding the guisarme, I'm pretty sure only Xango can even use it effectively, so if nobody wants it, might as well sell it.
Oster Catus
We may as well keep at that then.
Calvon
|
Works for me. We are keeping evverything except the guisarme?
Oster Catus
Ring can go to Calvon. Otherwise Oster will take it.
Memnosyne
I'm not sure anyone wants the orb of consumption. It's kind of a niche item. Selling the guisarme for 4154.5, 5k for the orb, and 6600 in gems/gold, that's 15754.5. Split 5 ways, that'd be 3150.9 for each of us. Anyone have any objections?
Oster Catus
@Mem, that split sounds fine to me!
@Xango, I'm sorry that I missed your earlier question. Cheers!
Memnosyne
@Xango: That does NOT include the money from Heidmarch.
I'm definitely grabbing a +1 dagger. I think I have to save up a bit more for anything else
