Right. You keep the chronicle sheets with your character so you can show any GM how you got all your stuff. Makes the PFS character completely portable.

Hey guys, just jumping on to figure out the text format for posting. I was trying to get up to speed for the next campaign so the introduction will be smooth. I have been reading the posts and have been enjoying the story line. If you see some strange things listed it is just my trial and error wit the system.

I can't believe it's not butterFabio flips back his golden locks as he sinks his teeth into a crusty piece of bread and proves just how much of a tool he is

He jabs with his butter knife at the small child attempting to stick their fingers in his spread
attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 41d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

  • if attack fails then Fabio runs for the door
  • If it succeeds then Fabio will attempt to hide the child under the rug

attempting to see how this all works :-)

Looks good copmc, I think you are getting the hang of it.

*applauds*

Though with a crit fail would Fabio not le gasp risk ruining that perfect *gag* face and hair?

That does not sound good ...

Somehow I doubt that it was an unusually long night of drinking for most of the group.

Well done Pathfinders! We got through our first adventure together. I am still learning this system, but I think everything went smoothly. Great RP stuff. I think everyone's characters are well rounded and we will have lots of fun with them in future adventures.

I am in the process of filling out the Chronicle sheets for this adventure and will be able to distribute them soon. Before I do I need a few things. First, if anyone has a Profession, Craft or Perform skill (must be trained in it) you may attempt a Day Job roll. This will add to your total gold for the adventure. Please make those rolls here if you are able to do so.

A few things on the Sheet. As I have mentioned, in official PFS play, you do not automatically keep stuff you find during the adventure. Rather, you are assigned gold and may then purchase stuff from the sheet. If you want to purchase stuff from the sheet, you need to let me know and we will note them on the next Chronicle. You will noticed that there are a few things missing on the sheet. The wand acquired from Uori is missing, this is an error and there is a way to add it but for now I am not including it on the sheet. Hopefully, the sheet will be updated and I will update your sheets at that time. Second, the +1 arrows are not on the sheet. The reason is that +1 items are considered always available. So, any party member may purchase the bundle of 20 +1 arrows for 2000 gp.

So, roll those Day Jobs if you are able and I will get those sheets out to you. So you guys know, you completed both Primary and Secondary success conditions, so everyone will receive 1 XP and 2 PP and fame. Great job.

Brew,
great adventure and something that I had a lot of fun with for sure!! heck I went out and actually purchased Hero Lab, Core, Ultimate Magic and the Inner Sea Campaign.

Well done!!

Havelock is a professional Soldier so here is his professional role...I think I am dong this right...and if not..I am sure you will adjust/steer me right (apply needed force or slap..or hammer as needed)

Profession Soldier: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12

You got it man. Your Chronicle sheet is complete and on its way to you. Let me know if you have any questions.

Ok, I think Havelock is the only person who can make a day job check and he has done so. Chronicle Sheets are done and have been sent out. I am off to report the scenario and put this one in the books. Let me know when you get the sheets and if they look accurate.

This was awesome Brew. Looking forward to many more. I still don't know how everything works with PFS yet, but I am guessing i'll pick it up as we go just fine. I'll go check out the chronicle sheet. Reading that may help tie some things together. Thanks again. :-)

Thanks man. I had a great time running the scenario. It has been reported and should show up under your character's sessions. We will have some down time until the next adventure. Again, our next adventure will start 4/5 but I will keep you guys posted. In the meantime, I will be posting stuff in the IC forum over at our Obsidian Portal site to tide you all over and leave hints about the next adventure. During the downtime, might be a good time to read over the Guide to Organized Play again. It will explain how the Chronicle sheets work and what you can do with Prestige Points and what you can buy that are always available. As always, let me know if you have any questions.

The 3 items toward the top of the chronicle sheet, 'Confirmed Field Agent', 'Explore, Report, Cooperate' and 'Friend of Janira Gravix', are these all boons? How do we use the second one? I don't understand the wording. What does the Wayfinder do? Is it a badge or does it actually do something?

I'll work on polishing Eloriand's bio during the down time. I have some details to add.

I found the info below about Wayfinders. Does this info apply to our Wayfinders? Especially the part about the light.

"A wayfinder is a magic item used almost exclusively by members of the Pathfinder Society, so much so that the small device has become a calling card of sorts for the explorers and chroniclers. It functions primarily as a compass and also can emit light when instructed. It also contains slots that fit ioun stones. When a wayfinder includes an ioun stone in this manner, it reveals some new behavior which varies between wayfinders and depending on what stone is used."

Yes, all three of those items are boons. The second boon can be used at any time during a scenario to get a hint about satisfying a success condition. Once used, it is crossed off. The wayfinder is a magic device that can cast light and be used as a compass. You can find a description if the item on the prd.

Brew,
how do we go about trying other adventures with either these characters or different characters

Well, keep in mind that you may not use PFS characters in simultaneous pbp games. In order to use a PFS character and keep it legal, it may only be used in one pbp game at a time. Additionally, if you have a PFS character in a running pbp game, you cannot use it in alive game as well.

That being said, there is nothing preventing you from using another PFS character or just playing non-PFS Pathfinder. If you want to roll up an additional PFS character, keep in mind that you may not apply credit to a character for a scenario or module that you have already played. There are a few exceptions (tier 1-2 senarios may be applied to multiple times, those scenarios include The Confirmation, First Steps Part I, and a few modules) and you may also apply credit to a PFS character if you GM a scenario. If you GM a scenario, you may apply a sheet to a character for credit, but again you only get to to do that one time. There are exceptions for GM stars as well, but we can save that for another day.

Keep in mind that I plan to run you guys through the level 1-2 scenarios and modules first. In fact our next game will be a tier 1-2 module that should be a lot of fun. The next scenario after that will likely be First Steps. That will get you all up to level 2 (except for copmc) and will give you a good XP base to move forward.

Similarly, you can play any non-PFS game with no restrictions, just as you would in a normal RPG. In a non-PFS game, there are no official records to be kept (read no Chronicle Sheets) and characters level up the old fashioned way, by earning XP by killing and looting.

If you are interested in other games, there is a whole forum dedicated to recruiting for online games.

What can you tell us about the next adventure planned? I was just curious if you could give us any insight so we know what supplies or spells to have ready.
How much information can we share between our characters before the adventure?
I was thinking some discussion would help so we all have a better understanding of each character concept. I don't think everything needs to be shared because it is fun to learn certain quirks and traits in game.
My cleric is a healer but prefers to be in the heat of battle. His deity involves healing, magic and elements of nature so the spells I cast will usually involve something with the elements. Low level spells are not so good for the offensive so I try to pick things that will help the overall party.
I am going to be in the melee and do not focus on ranged attacks, unless I have no other option. I have a sling and a few tricks to fall back on but if the target is far away then I will be running into battle.
I have minor abilities to aid the party but I will need to provide that aid before you attempt to do something. I would suggest that everyone hide their rolls from now on. This way, if you claim you are performing an attack or skill check then i can provide some assistance without knowing the success or fail of that roll.

Silver Crusade

Just a few more things to add.
I think it would be good for our group to establish a hierarchy for certain situations based on our skill sets. during these set situations a specified player then takes the lead and assumes the commanding role. This can be whatever each player thinks bests fits their character concept. I don't fully grasp how to apply every skill set to specific scenarios that we may encounter(involving knowledge type checks)but I would think my character would be better suited in dealing with the divine, healing or religious/faith scenarios.

When we are outdoors and traveling who takes the lead on making decisions on rest areas, camping and direction of travel?
When we are in a situation where a gifted tongue(get your mind out of the gutter) is essential for achieving our goal, who is to speak?
If interrogation or intimidation is our best path then who takes over?
Who is scouting inside or outside?
I am sure there are countless options, but I was wondering how everyone sees their character in our group and how that character is best utilized to achieve our goals.
I still think we should role play those traits and leadership roles, but if everyone knows ahead of time then we should be able to avoid any confusion or conflict. This will keep 5 people from talking over each other and ending up with 5 different ideas and no clear concept of how we are moving forward.

Great questions.i tend to let folks sort of fall into their rolls sand party dynamics but that is me and perhaps when not in combat we would establish a order of post...or. Based on a situation handle it like a initiative roll to see who speaks first or acts first. Just a thought.

Brew thanks for sharing how PFS characters are handled as well as on rules and restrictions. I have a alt cleric that I have presented for a different campaign. Figured it might be fun and might also offer up insights in how we can play as a group to make things even better....or as I suspect, confirm things to avoid.

Copm,
Leave off all the structure there Stalin. We’re a free-roaming sort of group with minimal rules on hygiene and table manners.

I see my character as the group tank. I draw the uglies and hunker down behind a good AC and good hit points. That gives the spell casters, rogues and ranged fire types the chance to do damage. I do damage too but with a one-handed weapon rather than take the full up whomp-a$$ two handers. It’s a matter of hit points now, I’m harder to hit and have the HPs to generally take hits, but later, say when we hit 5th level, rogues and mages can really ramp up the damage with sneak attacks and spells so long as somebody is occupying the ugly. Oh and I figure around 5th level Eloriand will finally land a hit, so there’s that to keep in mind too.

If you play a cleric, and don’t worship Claude, the god of dancing and good hair, you’ll probably be able to pull together a decent AC. You can come up and stand by me. You likely haven’t built your guy to have a fighter’s hit probability but you are learned. So, put away your weapon, grab a pen and paper and just write down the awesome stuff I do 

Great ideas copmc. While I agree with the concept of figuring out how the group will function, I think that would be fun to see hashed out IC. As your character is not quite introduced yet (I am still brainstorming on how to do that IC, just so you know) you may have to wait until after the next session. That being said, the Obsidian Portal site has an IC thread for the exact purpose of hashing things out IC (and OOC for that matter) between sessions.

As for equipment, I will open up the next game discussion thread on 3/29 for the express purpose of buying and selling equipment before the next adventure.
