test map
I'm messing with map stuff. Don't mind the clutter. I added everyone I had an email address for. Would someone try to use the map link and let me know what they see and what they can do if they can get there. Use the arrow tool to move your avatar. If you don't have access, give me your email and I will add. This is all just test stuff ....
I am good with whatever. I too feel like a junkie. :-)

I'd think miltiple postings would be ok. Dave is controlling the flow so it's not like we can run off. I'd suggest that declared actions are limited. I can say I'm attacking. And I can say what I would do depending on the results of an attack so that Dave can develop the scenario, but that's really about it.
So far the multiple postings have been banter and if you look at as normal conversation, what's taken 24 hours to develop, the scene at the pool for instance, has been maybe 4-5 minutes of real time.
BTW Dave, let me echo sentiments. Thanks for pulling this together, I'm enjoying this quite a bit.

Ben, thanks for the link but I did not get to see the map. I was able to login but I received a message that the map was not found our not shared with me.
Thanks for looking into the interactive map; this just keeps getting better.

I made it public. Try again when you can please. I have no idea what to expect from this approach as far as connecting goes. This approach is definitely the easiest, best looking flexible method I have found for PbP map sharing though.

I does look good, that's for sure. Though is it possible for anyone to move the 'pieces' across the board? The only option I get is to download them... or does one need to download the image in order to move it?
I think it was a permission issue. Still need to learn some of the details. Sorry.

Folks, I cannot tell you how glad I am you are enjoying the game. I have been planning this in my head for the better part of a year and finally pulled the trigger and could not be happier. I am enjoying GMing and will be ready to do many more after this if everyone is still on board. I think everyone is adapting to the pbp format superbly and I think it is an excellent medium for the game.
As far as posting, I agree with Jim. My posts are designed to resolve actions and drive the scenario further. They take a bit longer and I post them at the end of my day. I will be able to post a bit more on the weekends unless I have stuff going on. That being said, feel free to post away in between resolutions with banter or other IC stuff. Frankly, in my opinion, the more of that the better as it is through these comments and interactions that your character grows and flourishes. Thanks again for playing, I think it is going well so far.
For background stuff, I am just going to list out a few of the more prominent nations that could serve as an origin nation for any character. The full fledged description of the setting is contained in the Inner Sea World Guide which is actually a great read. For a summary though, here are a few of the interesting nations:
Andoran: Basically pre-industrial USA. Land of freedom and psrosperity.
Taldor: Based on England, an old power that is waning but still influential
Cheliax: Nation of devil binders. One of the most powerful nations, an empire based on the hierarchy of hell, though not necessarily evil.
Absalom: Free City, the City at the Center of the World, home base of the Pathfinder Society
Osirion: Ancient Egypt
Qadira: Commercial power, Persia
Molthune: Militaristic nation in a perpetual war with its former holding, Nimrathas, a nation of freedom fighters and rangers
Durma: Another commercial powers, known for their various mercenary bands
Vudra and Jalmeray: India
Nex: Magogarcay
Geb: Undead nation
Belken: Orc land
Kytonin: Elf land
5 Mountains: Dwarf land
Mwangi Expanse: Africa
River Kingdoms: Loose knit collection of bandit nations
Brevoy: Northern barony, home of the Aldori swordlords
Irissen: frozen land
Land of Linnorm Kings: vikings
Mammoth Lords: prehsotoric land
Numeria: Conan meets Thundar the Barbarian
Those are a few of the big ones, but I am leaving a lot out. To learn more about any area of the campaign setting, hit up the Pathfinder Wiki.

Also, keep in mind that the soft cap for players on a table is 6, so we have room for one more if anyone wants to bring someone aboard.
I think Chris will be persuaded to play with us. He is coming over for a game night tomorrow so I hope the excitement and positive review from Ben and me will get him on-board.
He is the one who played Kaldor.

I thought the same thing about the invites. The app is pretty new and that part may still be buggy. Why not try making it public until we all get added as editors and then you can make it private again after that.
While the whiteboard is loaded, if you click the name of the whiteboard (top center) a window will load. You can set it to public from there. Once you have everyone's profile associated with the whiteboard (on the people icon) then set it back to private. I think that will work. This is certainly a work around. I can't imagine anyone would make this part of the design.

Arklore and Tom are already set as editors. They must have defaulted when you added them. I am thinking Arklore can't see it because he may be using a different account than before ... not certain though because I can't see anyone settings. I will show you how to tell if we can get on at the same time as well as how to set it.

No trick to moving the token on the map. You just need to select it with the pointer tool and it will highlight. Once it is highlighted, you can just move it to its new location.
Ben & I experimented with a light color marker that sits under your token and will show where you started your movement. This would help you make a valid move but someone keeps deleting them.
If you are using IE as your browser, you will need to be at release 11 in order to move the tokens. I installed Google Chrome and everything works great. *unfortunately, now Google owns my soul*

Hey folks, which browsers are working the best for the Map? I am running things primarily on all Apple products.
on a side note, does anyone know if Arelith is still up and running?
JJerm is on Facebook-but I forgot to ask last time I was on it.
Yes~you can all be my FB friends and you you will also see why most of my PCs have short to no hair...LOL
FB is Michael Daniels.

What are the ground rules for combat actions and missing party members?
- How many players need to be active before the story moves forward or combat begins?
- Does the GM take full control of the player who are not online or does he only roll for critical path items?
I know that everyone is excited to play but I also don't want anyone to feel that they did not have voice in our actions.
The current rule is that we only needed to post once a day but we never discussed the timing of that post.

GM Brew |

There is no hard and fast rule. So far, we have not had to deal with a an absent player. What I have been doing for combat is waiting for everyone to post then resolve the entire round by initiative order. I take the liberty of resolving it as close to the intended post as possible and take logical deviations depending how the round resolves.
As far as moving the action forward, I will let you guys figure out generally what you want to do as a group then post what I believe the intent of the parties to be and move the scene forward. This is one of the drawbacks of pbp that at some points I will have to make a call about moving forward and incorporate the parties intent as best I can.
Moving forward, I will not auto post (aka bot) a character action unless there has been no declared action after two days or so. Again, not a hard and fast rule but that is a general time frame when I would consider it. I generally post all major actions and combat round resolution in the evening around 9 ish CST. So far, I think that has been working so as to allow folks time to post stuff.
As this is a new process for me as well, I welcome feedback. What do you guys think? Is the process working so far? Let me know.
