She would, of course, have to trade her, uh, somewhat less-than-pleasant cloak of resistance to someone else.
Ghorza Thursisdottir
My way of thinking: using items is good. If someone gets better it helps us all. So if you can use it: great!
Ghorza needs nothing right now. Her armor is sufficient. And I don’t think an elven cloak would fit, thematically. Or literally, it’s probably too long ;)
Rose Nightfall
If that's what everyone feels is fair, then Rose will trade the cloak of resistance back to group for the leather armor.
Typically, on-camera negotiating between characters for found gear has never held my interest, but if everyone else would prefer to do so, I'll bow to the group's preference.
Kintargo GM
Oops. I forgot that I probably won't be able to post tomorrow. Apologies, everyone!
Ghorza Thursisdottir
0 HP! How exciting :)
I can’t remember the last time I’ve had a character in such a situation.
Celi Wordsmith
Okay, so if I move to the square immediately to Celi's left, can I hit the enemy with color spray without hitting anyone else?
Also, what Knowledge skills should I roll to identify the bird creature?
Kintargo GM
I... think you should be able to hit her without hitting either of the others, yes.
Unfortunately, the roll is Knowledge (nature), which I don't think anyone has trained at the moment.
Celi Wordsmith
Darn, you're right. Guess I know which Knowledge skill I'm training at level 2.
Kintargo GM
Oops, missed this question. The answer is probably obvious now, but it seems likely the crocodile ate pieces of it.
Kintargo GM
Feeling exhausted today, so I'm not able to post. Sorry folks.
Celi Wordsmith
I've been there. Don't worry about us, rest up and take care of yourself!
Kintargo GM
Yeesh. I have no focus today, so no posts. Sorry. Normal posting should resume tomorrow, but I'll miss out on Monday. Some things coming up this week.

Warning in advance that I won't post much/at all if social things are going on. Adolina is definitely not confident enough for that sort of thing so if I've gone dark don't worry about it. :)
There's only so many "she hides nervously behind someone else" posts I can make!
Kintargo GM
I'm going to give Ghorza a chance to respond before the Fushi sisters do.

Sorry for my relative silence. Personal computer died (dead-dead) which has slowed me down. That + work = bleh. But I’m here.
Kintargo GM
Okay, so I've got some bad news for everyone. I'm not sure how effectively I can continue doing all of the games I'm running. I've got a lot more going on nowadays than I used to, and juggling everything with the games that I'm running is getting harder and harder.
I've been wrestling with this difficulty for a while - since the end of 2024, but it's only going to get harder to get full, thoughtful posts in every weekday as I reengage with life once again. I'm not quite sure how I want to proceed, whether that's posting less often (which will definitely lose some of the momentum and engagement from everyone involved) to dropping some of the games that are ongoing (which isn't something I'm eager to do, either). If anyone has any thoughts, I welcome them.

I'd be sad to lose the game certainly. This is shaping up to be a good one and I'm attached to Adolina and her story. I have no problem with the game being a leisurely one. HR has plenty of room for us to RP and tell our own stories in amongst the plot events so I think it can still work if you'd like it to.
In the end do what's best for you - the effort is all on your part and you have to look after yourself first.
Ginetta Cicerdos
If increased downtime is the result of a slower pace, then I'm sure Adolina and Ginetta can happily fill their time with RP fluff/story.
As mentioned above, though, you're the one that's putting in the lion's share of effort. So it has to work for you or it doesn't work.
Ghorza Thursisdottir
This is group storytelling, but most of the work is done by the GM. Do what is best for you. Whatever your choice, there are no hard feelings on my end.
Celi Wordsmith
I would also be sad to lose this game, I think we have a good group and we're starting to find our groove. That said, RL has to come first. I'm fine with a slower pace. And if you need to drop it entirely, well, them's the breaks sometimes. Take care of yourself.
Kintargo GM
I will say that this is not my first choice for dropping if I were to drop any of my games. That said, I'm also not sure how things will shake out, as my primary concern with neglecting posting is that it'll become habit-forming, and I'll lose some of my interest in the game as a whole if I don't do it regularly.
Kintargo GM
I'm reposting parts of this from another game's discussion thread, but I think every one of my players deserves to see it.
I want to give a bit of insight into my current thought processes: I'm currently trying to get into doing productive and meaningful things for the first time in a while. This means that I'm pushing myself a bit since I've gotten into a variety of bad habits when it comes to mental exertion.
These games I run via PbP are enjoyable - sometimes exhausting, but enjoyable overall. However, it does take a lot out of me, drawing from the same sort of focus/emotional wherewithal that the aforementioned efforts do. This means that when I attempt to pursue those things, I'm left with the distinct sense that I don't really want to post, as it's too exhausting to contemplate.
This has been going on for a bit - a few weeks or so - but I'm beginning to fear that it's untenable to keep going on with one post every weekday, which leads to my next concern. Specifically, that if I lose the habit of posting daily, I'm going to lose that habit and become disengaged from the plot - it's hard enough to remember who the NPCs are, what their quirks are, etc. after a single weekend of not posting, which can only get worse if I take longer breaks between posts.
I do enjoy these games, I think, but I'm not sure how easy it'll be to balance them with my increasingly involved schedule.
Adolina d'Jhaltera

A feeling I sympathise with. I'm not a terribly good GM myself for similar reasons - if I don't keep up a relentless schedule of posting I find myself slipping away from wanting to post and therefore I don't and games stagnate to death in quick order. So much sympathy for your predicament.
Kintargo GM
I will attempt to get a post up here today, but I'm not sure how good it will be.

Any post is a good post. Don't worry about it. :) We'd all much prefer a post to nothing at all.
Ghorza Thursisdottir
Someone please correct me if I’m wrong.
(1) Before combat is initiated Ghorza takes a readied action.
(2) Monster charges. Readied action goes off.
(3) Ghorza takes round 1 action. Hits the monster.
(4) Monster takes both hits and Ghorza can act in round 2.
Right?
Kintargo GM
I don't think it works like that RAW, something about readying actions being a combat only action, but that's how we're handling it here.
Kintargo GM
It's a weird squidgy space, because it did know you were there, but not necessarily that you'd attack... whatever the case, I'm content with how it's happened.

With her share of whatever funds we come away with, would it be possible for Ghorza to rework her rapier to masterwork?
Ghorza Thursisdottir
Lvl 2! And if she can Ghorza would be more than happy to help.
HP: +6 (class) + 2 (con) = +8
Saves: +1 Ref
BaB: +1
Mercantilistic Discipline (Ex)
* At 2nd level, a mercantile fencer relies on his extremely honed training and discipline to protect his mind, rather than luck. The noble fencer gains a +1 bonus on Will saves against mind-affecting effects. This bonus increases by 1 at 6th level and every 4 swashbuckler levels thereafter. This ability replaces charmed life.

Skills - 11. Notably now has Knw Arc, Dun, Loc, Nob, Pla, Rel.
Also need suggestions for a new language. Considering Tengu to talk to our new friends unless there's something better I should get.
Class features: Know-it-all (bonus to knw skills), poison resistance.
Kintargo GM
I think that Ghorza could rework her rapier into a masterwork one, especially if we're just mechanically using the mechanics of making a masterwork weapon with some sort of discount for having an existing one, yes.
New language suggestion - a bit metagame-y, but getting Celestial will allow her to help Rexus decode some documents in very short order.
Kintargo GM
I have linked the Rebellion sheet up in the header of the game. Because of your actions during the demonstration-turned-riot, the Silver Ravens start out with three supporters. You'll want to decide who's taking what leadership role, which you can decide IC or OOC (but I'd recommend discussing it OOC either way). Laria and Rexus will fill out the last two spots.
Rexus' Charisma Bonus is +4, his Wisdom Bonus is +2, his Int bonus is +1, and his character level is 3. Laria's Charisma bonus is +1, her Wisdom is +2, and her Dexterity is +2, character level is +3.

Demagogue: Con/Cha
Partisan: Str/Wis
Recruiter: high character level
Sentinel: no key stat
Spymaster: Dex/Int
Strategist: bonus rebellion action with +2 modifier.
Ghorza: Str 16, Con 15, Wis 14, Dex 14
Adolina: Dex 16, Int 16, Wis 14
Ginetta: Dex 16, Cha 16
Celi: Dex 14, Con 14, Int 18
So statistically:
Celi = Spymaster
Rexus = Demagogue
Ghorza = Partisan
Laria = Sentinel (she shouldn't be the recruiter, since she won't level and sentinel doesn't care what your stats are).
Leaves Adolina and Ginetta splitting Recruiter and Strategist. If we're looking to maximise the numbers.
Adolina d'Jhaltera

Adolina is delighted not to be recruiter since that involves talking to people and she's downright terrified of doing that. Being the strategist would be right up her alley though.
She will offer Ginetta A Quiet Word every day though if that helps. :)
Ghorza Thursisdottir
I would assume Sentinel would make use of Ghorza’s strength?
Also, anyone know the best way of handling disease? I think resting makes it go away faster, but is there a fairly cheap option to help?
Finally, how much gold did we each get?
Celi Wordsmith
Sorry for the delay, I’ve been sick for the past few days. Hopefully I will be able to level Celi up soon.
Spymaster is fine with me. Celi will be delighted to live her spy novel dreams!
Adolina d'Jhaltera

I would assume Sentinel would make use of Ghorza’s strength?
Sentinel wouldn't do anything. Partisan would run off your strength - hence my suggestion.
As for the disease you either need to keep passing saves or go to a temple and pay for a remove disease spell. It's fairly low level so wouldn't cost much.
re. Loot: I think I tracked it up to a point so we might be up to date. Having someone check my work is no bad thing though!
Ghorza Thursisdottir
I didn’t see that post when I made mine. I had the tab open on my phone and came back to it, so your post wasn’t in front of me. My apologies on that.
Now that I see it, Ghorza is more than happy to take the Partisan role.
And if he glad to have the spell cast. +3 fort save isn’t something I’d like to rely on.
