Nigel Flit |
Nigel dismissed his summoned eagle as a sign of good faith. He pays himself down to make sure his robes are still clean undamaged. Thank you, Rayquaza, for taking the brunt of the attacks. I know she was wanting to eat me so I appreciate it. Now which way did the lady who gave us this job tell us to go again. I remember her saying north but I don't remember after that.
Finally he looks to Togg, I am glad you finally came to your senses. I promise, you aren't missing out on much of snake with me and I hope you learned a lesson about when someone asks how they can help make you happy, attacking leads to you getting hurt.
I have a clw wand that I can't cast but Goran can use to heal me and others who didn't bring a wand. We can split up uses between our wands so we aren't just using yours. Just let me know when I need to take a charge off my sheet.
GM Fuskee |
Togg agrees to your deal and hangs out in her cave as you move on.
Ugh, covering the receptionist since she's off today so I won't be able to post. I will get something up later tonight but go ahead and do whatever moving, talking, healing you need to do. :)
Cornelius "cork" Dornbirk |
"Togg, you are more sensible than you seem." Cork nods in her direction then he watches as all of the injured are attended to. "Now, let's continue on in this sewer." He walks around the corner that Togg had pointed out to them.
Vello Tiskan |
"Togg said there was bad people beyond the rat statue. So lets be cautious. Bad people to Togg might not be bad people to us, but them gathering in a sewer probably means they are hiding stuff which in turn means they probably won't be thrilled to see us. Also they may have setup traps, so lets keep an eye out for that."
Goran Baldaros |
Sounds like a good idea to me...I'll head down. Goran says as he reaches in a pouch and grabs a rock. He holds it up and lets it go. It hovers just beside his head and starts glowing. He then heads down the passageway, scanning for trouble. use my ioun torch and moving down the hall. on phone atm...
GM Fuskee |
Sorry guys I've been sick all week so I just haven't had the focus to get on here and post. I will try to get up something shortly after I catch up on some work.
GM Fuskee |
Make sure you guys are moving your icons on the map so if something happens you're not a full movement away from any action.
The tunnel terminates in a small shrine centered around a large statue of a rat, around which handfuls of baubles and trinkets lie as if left as offerings. Nearly every brick bears some type of scratch marks, many having the appearance of writing without actually forming coherent letters. About one foot above the walkway, a large pipe emerges from the southern wall.
DC 18/23 Knowledge (Local) checks for more information on the statue.
As you approach the shrine you see a foot poke out of the sewer pipe as a male human slides out of it and quickly looks around. "Where's the big green thing?" he asks as another male human climbs out of the pipe behind him also on full alert for what you believe is Togg that they are worried about.
Vello Tiskan |
Vello smiles, "The big green thing and us came to a mutual agreement of us not killing it."
Vello eyes the two men suspiciously, "Are there more of you?"
Nigel Flit |
I'll move my character when I get back to my laptop. Sorry, not used to using a map outside of combat.
Nigel eyes the two new comers up. He is clearly not as concerned as he was about Togg. They seem to be worried that she might attack, and we defeated her. They should be scared of us. Though, I can't imagine bright and good folk be hanging out down here.
He also looks over at the rat statue. He quickly comes to the conclusion he knows nothing about it.
GM Fuskee |
Guy 1: "Mutual agreement? That thing wanted to eat me! You just let that thing get away?"
Guy 2: "More of us? Why are you asking? You trying to nose your way into our business, fella?"
Goran Baldaros |
It capitulated to us, so we defeated it. And if there are more of you, it would be polite to let us know, since we beat the creature you're obviosly scared of. Goran fires back, not interested in the idle threats.
diplomacy, untrained: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
Rayquaza |
Rayquaza slithers behind Goran and whispers in his ear,
"If these guys won't budge just gimme a cue and I'll do a number on them. A short demonstration of my Dragon skills generally nets me all the information I need."
Rayquaza has a +16 intimidate. if you ever want to let the Dragon loose, just let me know, but Rayquaza's personal code prevents him from randomly scaring anyone he meets.
Nigel Flit |
I moved my character on the map to be up with the action.
Nigel looks towards the two people waiting to see what they have to say.
Vello Tiskan |
"I'm not one for unnecessary killing. If my enemy surrenders then I will take appropriate action based on the current situation. She was no longer a threat."
Vello looks down at the rat statue, "It seems someone is idolizing this statue. Was it you? And if it was, tell us about the rat statue."
Diplomacy, untrained: 1d20 ⇒ 3
Jerbrick Fantasticork |
Jerb makes faces at the rat statue then puts his hat on it, giggling raucously. When the men appear, he sees Rayquaza's nervous tension. "My reptilian friend there seems awfully annoyed that you won't help us. I can help protect you from him but I need something first." He describes the Vault and the route to it as best he can. "Do you know which tunnel we take to reach that vault?"
diplomacy: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19
Nigel Flit |
Nigel makes a shocked face as he realizes something. He tries to whisper only to his group, Cork, warned us of wererats if I remember correctly. These might be them, you know with a rat statue and stuff.
Cornelius "cork" Dornbirk |
Cork moves up to stand next to the newcomers. When Jerbrick asks about directions to the vault, he nods in agreement.
Aid another(diplomacy): 1d20 ⇒ 10
When Nigel reminds him of the wererats, he puts himself on alert. His hand drifts to his cutlass's grip.
GM Fuskee |
Guy 1: "This thing? Hell if I know what this is, we're just here to pick up some goods. Our drop off point is that way but that big ugly green thing chased us and we had to hide in this pipe to get away." he points past you down the other path of the sewers. (It actually extends farther but just goes deeper into the sewers away from the directions you were told.)
Guy 2: The other guy sees everyone closing in and lifts his hands up a bit to show he doesn't mean harm. "Look we just want our goods and we'll be on our way, we're not looking for anymore trouble."
As you start to come to a peaceful resolution the eyes of the rat statue glow red and you begin to hear it screaming in a language none of you know. (Unless I checked incorrectly none of you can decipher Undercommon?)
Guy 1: "What did you do?! Why is it doing that?!"
The two men draw their weapons and get ready to attack.
(Starting combat/initiative in the next post.)
Edit: (Also you guys really need to stop putting your characters in the water, this is like the 3rd time I've mentioned it, the water is deep enough where you're doing swim checks to stay at the top of it, go ahead and put yourselves back on the sides unless you really do want to make swim checks, hehe.)
GM Fuskee |
Rayquaza Initiative: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20
Vello Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Jerbrick Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
Cork Initiative: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Goran Initiative: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Nigel Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
Marixite: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21
Pellius: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Statue: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Round 1:
Nigel
Marixite
Rayquaza/Jerbrick/Vello/Cork
Statue
Pellius
Goran
Nigel is up!
(I will take Marixite's turn after Rayquaza and Goran place themselves back on the map)
Nigel Flit |
I am a but confused on who combat is with. Are we fighting the statue, Marixite and Pellius, or both?
GM Fuskee |
Nigel: I mean, that's kinda up to you. This isn't like a computer game where there are black and white enemies, you could still try to negotiate, subdue them, etc. as for the statue please try not to take that it's on initiative as a reason to attack it, there's a certain reason it's there and it's not supposed to be known by you, all you know is that there is a statue, its eyes are glowing red and it's screaming in a language you do not know. If you think you should destroy it then go for it.
Goran: No problem, I'm not mad or anything at all just trying to get through to you guys that it's a sewer and the middle section is basically a river. I know none of you actually want to be in it so I'll just keep reminding you but I hope I don't have to anymore, lol.
Nigel Flit |
Hey guys, no need to bring out weapons! We don't know what this statue is either. Let's take a moment to investigate before we doing anything brash. Nigel has a worried look in his eye due to the sudden hostility. As a precaution in case they get violent, he creates another eagle.
GM Fuskee |
Waiting for Rayquaza and Goran to put themselves wherever they want to be on the map.
Rayquaza |
Sorry, was away from WiFi again. This might (but probably won't) happen again tomorrow while I'm traveling back, and from then I'll be back to my usual at-least-twice-a-day posting schedule.
GM Fuskee |
No problem! I knew you were having issues before, I figured if you didn't post by today I'd just place you somewhere and bot you until you got back. Will post Marixite's turn in a few.
GM Fuskee |
Both of them are wielding quarterstaves as Marixite moves up on his side of the sewer to Rayquaza and takes a dramatic swing at him, "Make it stop! Why is it doing that!"
Quarterstaff + Favored Humans: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
..and his staff bounces off of Rayquaza's armor doing nothing to him, only making Marixite that much more panicked.
Rayquaza/Jerbrick/Vello/Cork, the death squad is up!
Cornelius "cork" Dornbirk |
Any knowledges going to help me here?
Cork peeks around Goran and sees the panicked look at Marixite's face. He quickly casts detect magic in the direction of the rat statue.
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
Can I figure out if there is magic and what type?
Vello Tiskan |
The statue seeming to be the culprit to their current situation, Vello conjures up his kinetic energy and sends a Cold Blast toward the rat statue, hoping to at least silence it.
Cold Blast (Range Touch): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21;Cold Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
GM Fuskee |
Knowledges were posted up above Cork when I described the area.
Cork scans the statue for magic and detects no magical auras.
Per how Detect Magic works, first round is just detecting auras which there are none.
Vello decides that the statue is the cause of everything and fires off his blast only to see it impact the statue and do absolutely nothing to it.
Cornelius "cork" Dornbirk |
Ah yes, there they are! Honestly, I looked back over the posts before asking since I thought you had. I just missed it. And I don't have that knowledge... Anyway, I used my standard to detect magic and I'm not moving so there's nothing else for my turn.
GM Fuskee |
Rayquaza and Jerbrick are still up! I know you've been having issues with your internet Rayquaza so don't worry, take your time.
Vello, I'm sure I can look this up but which one is the cold blast again, energy or physical? It doesn't make a difference with the amount of damage you're doing but just a reminder, energy attacks deal half damage to objects with hardness.
Vello Tiskan |
Energy. The key to determine is that Energy are Range Touch while Physical are just regular Range attacks.
Rayquaza |
Marixite's attack does not faze Rayquaza, but the enemy's aggression annoys him greatly.
"No, you fool, the Dragon is not your enemy! Help us stop this statue, or suffer the consequences!"
Intimidate: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (9) + 16 = 25
By the way, your attack seemed to include a Favoured Enemy bonus against humans. Rayquaza is a nagaji.
GM Fuskee |
My bad I was trying to remember if favored humans was against humanoids but I didn't even think to just look at the half-elf race to see it says humanoid that counts as human and elf. Noted.
Marixite already hates everything he's run into in this hellish sewer system but the dragon person scares him the most as his weapon begins to shake visibly within his weak grip. Marixite is now Shaken for 3 rounds.
Jerbrick is still up!
Jerbrick Fantasticork |
Oops I think I hit "Resolve" on one of the map items by accident.
Jerb does his best to look tough, standing his ground next to Rayquaza. "Yes, we all must work together against the statue!"
intimidate AA: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
GM Fuskee |
Hey guys sorry I know you posted this morning but I've been in two Starfinder games all day long and I just need a little break. Might post up tonight but if not it will definitely happen tomorrow morning!
GM Fuskee |
Statue: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (8) + 16 = 24
Statue: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Statue: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
Statue: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
Statue: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15
Statue: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
Statue: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
As you're trying to negotiate with the scared men, a bolt flies out from behind the statue and heads towards Goran...
Sneak Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
...but all of you see it coming as Goran moves out of the way and dodges the bolt as a little creature peeks out from behind the statue that all of you can now see, giggling at you with a small light crossbow in its grip.
Pellius: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
Pellius also notices the bolt but decides he needs to push through you guys in order to get away from the scary statue and moves up to strike at Goran as well with his quarterstaff...
Quarterstaff: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
...and manages to make a loud THUNK as his staff bashes into Goran's armor and damages him.
Damage: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Goran take damage and then you're up, Nigel you can go as well!
Sorry about the delay, had a long day of Starfinder yesterday but I'm back on track now. And now you can see why I said not to mind the statue too much, it's so hard to not give away sneaky things since I have to make rolls and I don't want to just hide them and tell you to just trust me on them, haha.
Nigel Flit |
the monster isn't on the board yet, is it something we can attack? Does it have cover?
Nigel sees the little monster and assumes that what ever it is is the reason these guys are attacking us. He uses the all too familiar acid splash at it. If I am able to get a shot off that is.
acid splash (ranged touch attack): 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (6) + 2 - 4 = 4
I assume it's not in melee but I think I'll have to shoot through traffic regardless. If I need more minues, let me know
damage: 1d3 ⇒ 1
Eagle 1 |
The eagle finally sees an enemy that his master gives a go ahead to attack and he flies to it and bites at it once.
[Occ] I'll move the eagle in the map once the thing is added to the map [/ooc]
bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4
GM Fuskee |
Whoops sorry, let me put it up on there. It's hiding behind the statue so it has cover but at least you guys can see it now.
Nigel throws some acid towards the little creature but it just hits the statue instead and fizzes on the rocky surface.
Eagle 1 |
I added the eagle to the map and moved him. I don,t know how high the ceiling is here but if it is less than 15ft high I provoked to move to the enemy. If it is 15ft high, the eagle will fly up to the ceiling before flying over the two other guys. I have 60 ft move so that shouldn't be a problem. That will conclude my actions.
