So the last several recruitments have all been pre-recruitments; i.e. people jumping in and recruitment closed before recruitment even opens. Is that a new thing? It would be great to have open recruitment where a game comes up and then people can sign up. Otherwise you really have to be going here four times a day to get into something!

A signup recruitment is mostly used for our Online conventions. General recruitment like what you are seeing now is generally first come, first served. Gotta be quick!
In your situation, my advice would be to post on the boards detailing your situation (which you have just done). Personally I've seen countless times on these boards when a GM has shown up and collected all of the Starfinders looking for work and started a game just for them. You can even possibly add a request for something in particular if you have one - perhaps a little something like this....
My Level 3 -701 Dataphiles Mechanic would love it if a kindly GM would commit their precious time & effort to run the Dataphiles tagged 1-07 The Solar Sortie. I want to get him through it before he gets out of level range - which admittedly he still has a little leeway on. I would have signed up for it for Outpost but there was no table for it.
^true story, not just an example.

Mine was open recruitment, as is the two tables from Aero - fcfs.
Per Fixits post, we also have a bunch of gms who pick up by request, like the player who missed my muster so I offered to get a table up for him when he’s ready.
It’s the lack of players that I am finding difficulties with, you may notice that the tables are shipping with spots still open.
GM Aerondor |
I often put up a game in advance. The two recent ones are to try and give some folk a shot at getting some rep by a particular deadline.
My normal way to do a game is to announce in advance. Sometimes I reserve some places for particular players (if for example someone has requested a particular scenario, or I was going to do a GM swap). I also often keep a space for a new player, or one new to PBP.
We are getting toward the tail end of Outpost now, so you are likely to see a few more tables starting up as they finish the convention games.

Well since people are putting in requests, I have a soldier that just hit level 5 I would love to put in something.
Scenarios for level 5s I haven't done, and have been released, include 1-08, 1-23, 1-26, and 1-33.
Any chance anyone wants to do any of those? Maybe after Outpost tables start finishing up?

@therealthom - I am fairly new to Starfinder so there is plenty of scenarios I haven't played. Having said 3 of my characters should end their scenarios within a few days (they are all in the final fight). So depending on the timing I could join your game as well.
"Have you played 1-09 Live Exploration Extreme?" The Pact World's most famous game host asks. "We always welcome new contestants for gory... er... GLORY!"
I am just starting to set up for that scenario, and have a few more seats available. -- GM Hmm
Zo! |
"Hey, hey Sentients! Are you interested in stardom in the most exciting adventure in archaeology ever?" Zo! claps his hands in excitement. "I have an almost full crew! Perhaps there's room for you too?"
Hmm's 1-09 Live Exploration Extreme! Tier 1-4
Can the following players check in?
Biggrin
Blazej
Pauljathome
EbonFist
Andrew Harasty
...and there's room for one more!

Well, I may be a little late to pick up free players, but...
Considering how Outpost is wrapping up, and in interest of meeting requests, I'll be running a table of 1-30 Survivor's Salvation! This is a Tier 1-4 scenario that occurs after >redacted< and tackles the legacy of >redacted<, as well as the impact it had on those involved. Unlike some other Society scenarios, this one tackles some serious topics around trauma and mental health, so silly and zany characters may not be the best fit (though you can certainly bring them). See the spoiler below for the scenario description.
If you're interested in playing, go ahead and sign yourself up at this handy link. I'll keep recruitment open for a few days and plan to start the scenario early next week. If we have a lot of signups, I'll roll a lottery for who gets a spot. Note that if you sign up, you're agreeing to post at a minimum 1/day pace.
therealthom |
@therealthom I'd be game to play Cries from the Drift if you still have room. I've got a level 2 soldier and a level 3 mystic. However, I've never done a PbP scenario before, so you may have to bare with me while I learn the ropes.
Nick, you make 4. I'll PM you after I get the game set up. PbP is not hard to figure out.
The key thing to realize going into PbP is that the pace is relatively slow, so you need patience and commitment. Even if each PC averages a post a day, and I hit a 2-3 post per day rate, it will take 4-8 weeks to finish a scenario.
The best thing about PbP is that players in particular have time to write great descriptions if they choose.

Do you know how much longer your OutPost game will go, abouts? I have everything ready for takeoff (was gonna post this week), but if you’re just wrapping things up I’m happy to wait a couple days for you.

My memory failed me yesterday - the game is not an official Outpost game, but kicked off just after Outpost started.
I'd guess we're only halfway through at this point, so if you're all good to go I might have to wait for the next Solar Sortie table to come 'round.
Appreciate the offer to delay a little for me, but I imagine we've still got over a week to go. I will try to confirm with the GM to make sure though.

SFS 1-04. Cries from the Drift, DM'dby yours truly, has room for two recruits. The 4 current characters are in the lower tier.
A Starfinder Society Scenario designed for levels 1-4.
A missing Starfinder ship's distress signal would have gone unnoticed were it not for a passerby detecting it and selling the information to the Society. The PCs are to travel to the crippled starship, and once aboard, reach the bridge in order to piece together the tragic story of the vessel's lost crew. Only by unraveling the mysteries of the drifting starship can the PCs hope to uncover information critical to the Exo-Guardians future operations.
Scenario is tagged for spaceship combat and the Exo-Guardian faction.
If you are interested, please post in the Recruitment thread.
GM Cellion |
First time using this thread:
Theshe and Kai looking for Scoured Stars scenarios if possible. I think Cellion's game is full and we'd like to be playing together if we can.
Feel free to still sign up for my game. On Monday I'll be rolling a lottery for the spots for anyone who signed up.

Confirmed. Still over a week to go om current scenario. Will just have to wait for the next time it is run.
Thanks and have fun!

Will the following Starfinders please report to the Discussion thread for 1-07 The Solar Sortie:
We still have one spot available, so please let me know if you'd like to join. Hoping to get the ball rolling this week or next.
In a similar vein, seeing the popularity of Aerondor's earlier muster, I'll also be GMing a table of 1-34 Heart of the Foe. Please post if you'd like to join (Tier 3-6).
GM Skeemo |
Skeemo --
Could Bret and I nab places at your table of 1-34? I'm thinking of bringing Bat Elf, but I'd need to level her first. She's either level 5 or 6 -- that's the problem with GM credit. It always involves a bunch of chronicles hitting a character at once!
♫ Na nana na nana Bat Elf! ♫
No problem, I'll add you to the list. Just make sure both toons are ready to go ASAP.

Would there still be room for a level 4 Solarion for Solar Sortie?
