What would have been Phedron's allotment of gold, if any from the past loot? I remember seeing one total, but thought that was for the tunnels prior to my arrival.

Karl Marsh |

Did Beckett or Nosa respond to this?
Karl nods his head at Nosa's words.
"Your father was a paladin then. . . I want both of you boys to remember something, almost anyone can rend and destroy the flesh, there are few that can knit and soothe it. It is a gift. Being the best swordsman in the city means little when your friends lie dying their life's blood and innards running through your useless fingers that have once too often been turned to hate. . . Protect your gifts."

Ah... That was in Beckett's mind when he made the decision to spend his life's savings on the wand of cure light wounds. But I forgot to call it out explicitly.

Professor Lennox, DM |

Just got back home from vacation. Getting settled tonight and working on some InnRoads ministry business. (editing the next installment of InnRoads plays d&d)
I'll have posts set up tomorrow. Plus, Nosa and Beckett may have some posting to do with what they got back on my responses.

Drogan Anvilsong |

Plus 6 to bluff ... roll an 8. LOVELY!
hoping I get another shot at this. Plus - I love how my bardic compatriot is full of crap. ;)

Nosatrub |

Sorry I haven't posted much lately. I started my first grad class over the weekend. Friday night for 4 hours and 8 1/2 hours each on Saturday and Sunday left my mind full of mush.
Add to that my wifes uncle passing away Friday night, her grandfather on his death bed, and getting prepped to get back to work after a long weekend (that I got no time to relax) and posting hasn't been on my mind. Hopefully things wil normalize here soon and I can get back into it.

Drogan Anvilsong |

My turn to throw in a "can't post, please pray" discussion post.
This has been 4 days of intense awful and it isn't over yet. The short version - my wife is currently in the hospital for an intense bipolar episode. The last time she had one of these was 3 years ago and it lasted for the better part of a week if not longer. I don't know, I kinda lost track of days during that one.
Anyway, I'm gonna be pretty much out of it for a while now, but I definitely don't want to slow or stop the game. There are currently ... 11 new gameplay posts since I looked last - and I'm just not gonna be able to read those and react - let alone as my orc-cursing dwarf buddy. So this is me giving Jeff full permission to bot the crap out of Drogan til my wife comes home. Just treat him kindly and sharpen his ax. He'll take care of himself.

Professor Lennox, DM |

You and your wife are in my prayers. This kind of malady is so hard to confront. Praise God she has a loving husband and family around to be her support.
You know you can take all the time you need. We'll be here when you get back. Drogan's in safe claws...I mean hands.
Jeff

Karl Marsh |

May peace find you my friend. I have been fortunate to have experienced the overwhelming calm come over me when confronting life threatening situations and peace come upon me when I am being overwhelmed, but trying to walk the right path set before us.
I wish you the best of luck and I hope you will be able to return to us soon.

Professor Lennox, DM |

Keep bailing. Minor disaster averted on part of a parental unit. Things are ok, but i only just cane back to the boards and realized they ate my post from earlier tonight.
I'll cobble it back together in the morning.
Is Phedron and Drogan back into the swing of things? They've now got some good info to share with the rest of the group. Or I guess Agidor and Linkah can pass it along...

Professor Lennox, DM |

Hey gang, just checking in on our collective feel for the campaign. Here's some questions I'd like to pose and would love no holds barred answers and/or suggestions:
》How is the flow? I've noticed that posting has slowed and there's less interactions between pcs. Anything I could do to move things along? Am I leaving the door open enough (too much) for interplay and plot development?
》is the plot getting too muddied or stagnant? We've entered into an investigative period, is it too slow?
》Is there anything I could be doing as a dm to make sure everyone's engaged and intrigued by the story?
Remember honest answers and suggestions are welcome! I want this to be a great experience for all concerned!

Karl Marsh |

damn thing ate my big long post!
I am all in for the game. I just think we are in a more reactionary mode right now. The DM can stimulate it with things for us to react to and really controls the pace of a PbP.

Nosatrub |

I'm still loving the story, while I'm not overly comfortable with investigative type stuff, I think I can make that show as part of Nosa's personality as well. It fits for me.
As for myself, the biggest reason my posts have been short is just that I have very little time right now.
Honestly, my stress level is through the roof at the moment and gaming has been very far down on my list. I try and make some time for myself to game in the evenings, but even that hasn't worked out.
I'm going to stay the course though and hop in and out when I can. Hopefully, I'll get on top of things here and be able to get more into it.

I love, love, LOVE the campaign!
For me, I just finished a major project at work that has required some late nights (my usual posting time). I will have much more time to post starting on Monday.
I'll have Beckett pick a fight with Marsh or something... :-P

Professor Lennox, DM |

I'll be scooting things a king today. Just want to make sure there's no more rp points you guys wanted to hit.
...the Mwangi man is stirring....

Drogan Anvilsong |

Drogan's convinced he's not a pirate, so he's fine if the others want to do anything with him before he wakes the man up - but he's not worried.

Professor Lennox, DM |

Go easy. I'll assume Nosa will be watching over the Mwangi while the others attempt entrance to the cargo hold.

Professor Lennox, DM |

Either that or Beckett can do it once your in...
At this stage Linkah is distracting the guard. You cam attention an approach via stealth or attempt a diplomatic solution. Be creative gang.

Does Lavios have the status with these guys to demand the way in for us?
If not, Beckett can try his silver tongue skills... since we aren't exactly the sneakiest for crews... :)

Professor Lennox, DM |

that's what I'm talking about! Lavios, are you out there buddy? Are you available to role play this part? Possibly use your status to get your way in?

Professor Lennox, DM |

Giving Lavios a bit of time to reply.
Here's who I've got going, correct me as needed...
.
Heading to the hold...
➣ Drogan (Social / Appraisal)
➣ Karl (Muscle / Guile)
➣ Beckett (Social / Detect / Eliminate)
➣ Linkah (Guile / Distraction)
➣ Lavios ? (Religious Influence)
Remaining with the Mwangi...
➣ Nosa (Guarding the Mwangi)
➣ Phedron (Magical Support)
➣ Agidor (Social / Guile)
I'll go with this in about two hours from this post.

![]() |

As you guys have probably noticed, I've been absent from the game recently, so I apologize if this is a stupid question, is Karl talking to Lavios or Beckett? it says Beckett went down with Karl, but Karl said Lavios. Just wondering before I go answer a question not meant for me.

Professor Lennox, DM |

Lavios, are you going to jump in? I'll proceed with you "being there" to add your influence if you're not posting. I understand if you're busy.

Professor Lennox, DM |

Phedron and Nosa, let me know what when you're available. I have something for you up with the Mwangi man.

Professor Lennox, DM |

Good to hear things are improving. I'll have something for you tomorrow morning.

Professor Lennox, DM |

*Kicks back and hits the recline setting on the easy chair*
"This is going to be interesting..." the DM thinks as he watches the cargo hold. But he keeps a spare eye on the crew quarters where Nosa and Phedron are located...

Professor Lennox, DM |

A note on npc posts...
As I make posts with the npc avatars, these are not to be confused with any DM prodding one way or the other. Such is the case with Linkah's post. He's a bit too curious when it comes to potential riches. Thus his goading of the man-bear Karl.
The NPC avatars for me are a way to add further dynamic to the rp.

Drogan Anvilsong |

WOAH.
I waswaiting on a response from Lavios, but kept seeing there wasn't any new messages (or at least that's what the site was telling me). Come on today - 17 game messages and 12 discussions?
Alright, Give me a sec to catch up!
