Zahra al Asmar
I'm back :)
Although I'm not sure if there's anything for Zahra to add at the moment as currently she's having a nap.
GM Corey Homebrew
Sorry, I should have posted an update sooner.
A lot is happening and it’s keeping me from the game. There is a serious issue with my immediate family and I need to attend to it.
I am also in the middle of some important house renos and my step-parents are visiting.
The game is a great place to get away from the serious stuff and hard work. The family will be here for a little while.
I’ll post when I can.
Zahra al Asmar
No worries at all. Real life always comes first, especially when it’s family.
One step at a time and keep looking up :)
GM Corey Homebrew
I've posted a map in the Gameplay section.
Your apartment is number 33. The meeting place between Dounia, Candor, and Mahri is in the bath house next to apartment 52 in the SSE. The hall is stone on one side and painted doors on the other. There is no place to conceal oneself in the hallway. If any of the other members of The Black Birds is seen near the meeting place the entire caper will be called off.
The hall from your apartment to the bath house is 300' long. At a full run it would take three rounds to get there.

WOOT! The band's back together :)
I was curious about the rooms that are coloured differently. Anything we should know about this cool map?
Zahra al Asmar
I assume perception to figure out if any noise is coming from inside Prem's? I guess he could be passed out because he was pretty drunk last time Zahra spoke with him.
So are we hearing the voices from the foyer area?
Is it perception to try to figure out if we recognize the voices?
GM Corey Homebrew
The voices are coming from the foyer area. You can take time to listen and figure out who's coming but they are coming fast.
You can certainly listen at Prem's door - but, again, time is of the essence.
Both would be perception rolls.
To hear if someone is sleeping behind a door DC23
To hear the voices in the foyer enough to have a chance of identifying them DC15
Zahra al Asmar
I really want this door open so that I can read the spoilers! I agree with Cairee in that it’s really hard to not read them
GM Corey Homebrew
I'm going to resolve this round in the order everyone posts.
Zahra
I'm hoping you will allow a non-lethal use of Ray of Frost to use the ice to help quench the fire that Zahra sees
You didn't give me a location that you moved to. I'm going to mark the map with letters for everyone's ease. People can say they move to 1A for example. I'm moving you to a location in range of Dounia where you won't get an AoO for casting.
Also, Wow! Very creative use of your magic! I'm rolling your spellcraft vs DC16. If you succeed I will let frost damage cancel fire damage. If the remainder is fire damage then she will still be on-fire. If the remainder is frost damage then the fire is out.Zahra's spell craft: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Well … a crit … no frost damage and the fire is out.
Dounia
You failed your save so you take the full 9hpd and you remain on fire before Zahra got to you. Zahra put the fire out so you don't need to make a reflex save (which would have used up your standard action and prevented you from attacking this round).
Dounia Mehar Mehek Ghali
Right, you even told me the Dex save was my action, then I wrote half the post, went to work, forgot what I was doing, and then gave myself two actions. So thanks to Zahra for the save, and then my action can stand.
GM Corey Homebrew
Tymythy still had 3hpd from the day's challenge = hp34
He just had the crap cut out of him by Candor and Simone (-29) = hp5
If Kingsworthy hits (-6) = -1
Tymythy falls prone and drops Kisugina
Cairee heals him (+6) = hp5
Sorry, that was the luckiest the foes have ever been in this entire game.
Tymythy-son-of-Stywyrt
The "temp" AC is because of the heavier armor bought by the funds from our fans - he can't take it with him out of this party, so it is only temporary.
Also, ouch.
Also also, agree that Zahra's use of the spell was pretty darn clever!
Tymythy-son-of-Stywyrt
Well, that was only AoOs. The enemies get a chance to finish the job before Tymythy gets to fight back. Gotta admit it, didn't expect so much hurt coming in from so many directions ;-)
Zahra al Asmar
I was so excited to read the spoilers. So many gasps. I had no idea there was so much treachery afoot. They will pay.
We may die in a bathroom one day, but today is not that day!
At least the porters are there as witness to the bat-crap craziness of the others.
I just wish that allies weren't mixed in with those Zahra wants to hurt for hurting her friends. She really wants to try out her Flurry of Snowballs but it would hurt everyone...
Zahra al Asmar
I want to thank our GM for rolling really nicely for Zahra's spellcraft. I don't think it would have worked as well as it did without that critical roll :)
It is my mission to give a good name to the Ray of Frost spell. It always had a bad rap for being mainly used for chilling drinks.
Tymythy-son-of-Stywyrt
Tymythy's one hit from going down... are any of the nearby enemies (Simone, Kingsworthy, Candor) wounded? Would like to try and even out the numbers a little bit before Tymythy takes a nap himself.
**Edit**
Nevermind, you had already updated the character status sheet.
Dounia Mehar Mehek Ghali
With Tymythy standing over Dounia, what are her options for movement? If Kingsworthy is down, is his square considered free? Occupied? Rough terrain? I assume Dounia can't stand and fight in the same square she is now. I understand that I'll take an AoO unless I use my whole round action to avoid one. She will eat the AoO in order to be able to fight this round, assuming there's a place she can get to during her move action and still reach somebody.
GM Corey Homebrew
Dounia can crawl 5' as a move action to where Kingsworthy's body is but with two AoOs (Candor and Simone) possible.
She can fight from under Tymyhty as a prone fighter -4 to hit.
The only ranged weapon one can use from prone is a crossbow.
Confirm - she can't stand with Tymythy standing over her. You can pass through the space of an ally but you can't occupy the same space.
She isn't being flanked anymore so things begin to balance out:
prone ac -4 + cover from Tymythy ac+4
fighting from prone -4 to hit + Prems inspire courage +1 to hit
Dounia Mehar Mehek Ghali
Since we're about to be questioned - this is what Dounia told you all:
That reminded her of Candor's words. "Oh! Also, I talked to Candor! She's meeting up with Mahri, one of those Aureola competitors. They want to figure out a way to keep our memories after this is all over. She wants me to meet them in the middle of the night. I think I should."
GM Corey Homebrew
There are 5 1/2hrs before the next challenge.
Those of you who made a point of getting rest before the incident at the Baths. If you use the time to sleep, you will have the hour to pray or study and just make it to the challenge.
Those of you who didn't rest before the fight. You do not get spells back, perform healing (hp or ability damage), or renew abilities that have uses/day. Also, make a con check DC10 or be fatigued.
Fatigue - can neither run nor charge and takes a –2 penalty to Strength and Dexterity. Doing anything that would normally cause fatigue causes the fatigued character to become exhausted. After 8 hours of complete rest, fatigued characters are no longer fatigued.
