I was thinking about making a character who is part of the Rizzuto mafia, which was headed by Vito Rizzuto in the 1990's.
During his shady dealings, Vito Rizzuto became aware of "demonic things" moving around in the same shadows he operated: Newfoundland fisheries, Montreal warehouses, Toronto bank records, corporate charters, and computer databases.
Vito Rizzuto negotiated an arrangement with the RCMP SERT (Delta Green division) to provide them one of his trusted associates (my character), as a pipeline for information the Rizzuto Family uncovers during their business deals, in exchange for "markers" to be used to get certain convictions overturned, or certain cases being thrown out of court or declared mistrials.
Criminal or Program Manager professions might work for this concept, depending on whether my character is a "soldier" in the organization or a nephew or 2nd cousin of Vito, and therefore trying to become a "Made Man."
I am thinking of using the name of an actual associate of the Rizzuto mafia who disappeared, and is presumed dead as of 2012, Guiseppe "Joe" Renda.

You can do either...rolling or using the stats or point buying is an option too. I like the background and the character!! Has lots of built-in bonds.
trawets71: To make your demolitions man, take perhaps the police or military main background then add your bonus skill points to demolition. See rule below:
Choose Bonus Skills
Pick any eight skills and add 20% to each of them. You can increase a skill more than once but none can be higher than 80% to start. Put excess points on another skill.
This should allow you to customize your character into a position that you are looking for....I hope!! lol

Currently working on a Scully-type, medical/science background. He tries to frame everything from a scientific perspective, holding onto skepticism as a defense mechanism. Like the inspirational character, he would have been recruited early in his medical career by the RCMP. Would have solid investigative and science skills, and still capable of handling a firearm.

Could the bonus points be used to choose a second foreign language? I was thinking that along with English and Italian, my character might know a little bit of Quebecoise French that he's picked up here and there (about 20% worth). Not fluent by any stretch, but enough to catch a relevant word or phrase here and there, or to ask a question or make a request in very simple terms.

I am trying to think of an interesting Mobster Name that Joe would be known as to the Rizzutos.
Some initial thoughts:
"Average Joe" (reflecting his unremarkable build and description)
"Joey Mops" (on the thought that, based on his skill-set, that he might be a "fixer" who cleans up for the higher-ups in the organization (killing, disposing of bodies, removing trace evidence).
"G.A. Joe" ("Guardian Angel/Government Agent Joe", assuming a brand new moniker placed on him when he accepted this mission, as recognition of the responsibility and nature of the assignment.)
Any other suggestions?

This is dickie's still quite unfinished alias. Yes, I figured since it was a gender-nuetral name that I would stick with Dana to help remind me who the character is.
Are we assumed to be new agents or veterans? In other words, are we required to take one of the traumatic backgrounds?
Any other info you'd like in the class/race line?
Finally, just to make sure I am reading it correctly, the profession skills replace the base percentages, but the bonus skills add to the base percentages?

Here is a start of a character Joshua Jericho
Briefly, father's family scotch/english, mother's french/imuit. Maternal grandfather taught him to hunt and fish and get along in the wild. PhD in mining engineering. Went to work for mining company in the uranium mining field. Exploring possible new mine, blew a hole into something man was not meant to know. Out of 8 man crew only survivor. Was found by Inuit man. Joshua was out of it and babbling in inuit.
Told authorities what happened and no one believed him. Was recruited into Delta Green after surviving incident.
That is my rough sketch.
How does that sound?

Mechanical stuff is done in my notes, I just need to transfer the rest to the alias. Otherwise, I still need to figure out gear, but that is pretty simple (sidearm, doctor's bag, maybe a vest I keep in the car).
I have a rough sketch of the fluffier stuff (and motivations/bonds are in alias now), just need to expand it out and do some simple research.

I'm ready to go whenever. I think Joey would have a suit, a small pistol (snub nose .38 or the like), a lock-blade pocket knife, a nokia or motorolla cell phone, and some "walking around money" on his person.
He might have other things in his vehicle, depending on what sort of work he's doing on a given day ("cleaning" supplies). He pretty much always has an aluminum baseball bat (along with a ball and glove, for plausibility) in the vehicle at all times.

trawets: Looks great...pick up some basic equipment that you feel your character might have (a pistol, phone etc) and you each should have a little bit of cash ($100-200 on your person)
Cuchulainn: Perfect...love the detail about the bat in your car!! I guess we just need your alias and then I will open up the gameplay forum

Most of my numbers are updated and alias is more complete now. In the process of googling things like "Canada doctor education requirements" and "Canada east coast medical schools" to get fluff nice and accurate. Off work tomorrow, so will finish up everything fully then.

BTW, that "Raccoons" show is available on Roku channel. I'll watch a few episodes sometime soon just to have an awareness of the cultural aspect of Canada in the 90s. Unfortunately, the biggest exposure I have to Canadian TV is "Corner Gas" and "Trailer Park Boys" lol.
I've dotted into the GP thread, making tweaks to the alias. I copied gear effects from the sample characters, but made up an evidence collection kit. I'm assuming it would provide a bonus similar to the medical kit for forensics, what do you think GM?
RHMG Animator
The Raccoon specials were first (The first 2 If I recall right), before the TV show really started. I'll need to check to see if they have a COMPLETE copy of The Lost Star Special, as it was a Hour Long special and most specials were 30 minutes so a lotta folks only recorded the first half of it as they programmed their VCRs to record the special.
Man I enjoyed that First Raccoons Special, as it was a Christmas special that first introduced us to a number of the characters.
Though a certain tree is out of place with the Ranger Station and the Raccoon home in the rest of the series for the first special....
The Raccoons wasn't the only cartoon made in Canada at the time, as that same company worked on a few cartoons, thought The Raccoons was their most well known one in Canada. And they did work on a few other cartoons I used to watch.
Though in 1994, Reboot the FIRST fully 3D animated show aired on TV ever and it was made by a Canadian Company named Mainframe Entertainment.
And Reboot did Parody or reference some 90's culture (sometimes as a cameo moment) like; X-Files, Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones, Sailor Moon, Xena, Mars Attacks, and other shows and movies. First Season and Most of the 2nd Season were Episodic, After that it was more Saga based in that each ep was it's own and a part of a bigger story within it's 4 episode saga, and each Saga picked up where the last one left off.
That Mainframe Entertainment also made Transformers: Beast Wars (Beasties in Canada), and Shadow Raiders.
--------------------
Canadian TV was also broadcasting Heritage Minutes on TV during the 90's covering short pieces of Canadian History.
I also recall the Docu-Drama series from the States in the 90's called Rescue 911, you can find Eps of that on Youtube.
Good for reminding folks of the tech we had back then along with a few other things.

@Daniel Stewart:
Am I correct that the campaign starts with us having gone through training and orientation together, and that we have already been designated as all members of one team?
So, when we meet up in Calgary, we won't be meeting as strangers, but more like newly a trained unit of soldiers about to experience their first deployment?
Leona Law
I hope you don't mind some _Redacted_ Parts in Leona's Profile.
As it fits with Special Unit 2 keeping some info hidden, or it is a lost and or forgotten record.
Also should get to finalizing some curse details.....
And the possible game impacts that are mechanical....
Dr. Dana Tremblay
I'm assuming Dana is pretty green overall, still getting used to a lot about this new assignment. I was also keeping him more east coast in background and history. Just in case that meshes with anyone else. Remember also that he was practicing medicine in Toronto, so if Joey, for instance, ever came in with a fresh stab or gunshot wound, then its possible to have met him there.
I know the intro post specified the date as being before the meeting, but I jumped right to heading to the PO, hope that is alright.
Leona Law
I think we are just waiting on one, Joshua Jericho, to post in the gameplay thread.
Also I can do some character renders so we get a more common idea of how everyone looks...
I'll need heights as well to get everyone to scale with each other correctly, like in this one I did in another game
Guiseppe "Joey Mops" Renda
Joey is 5'10" (about 178 cm) and 165 lbs. (about 75 kg). He has a medium build (lean and fit, but not noticeably muscular), dark brown hair, a light olive complexion (tanned, but not dark), and brown eyes. He typically dresses in a charcoal gray business suit. He wears a wedding band and water-resistant, shockproof wrist watch.
Leona Law
I have business suits for male models, but the Rings and watches, I don't have.
I'll see what I can do
I'll check the Daz Store and see if they have one close to the basic and morph it from there....
