Busy weekend. I will post the initial briefing sometime Monday.

Regarding the Diplomacy check, and the two successful Aid checks, we got a total of 35.
For every 5 by which your check result exceeds the DC, the character’s attitude toward you increases by one additional step.

Correct, Mahu's attitude should have been moved 2 steps to friendly. Consider Mahu as having smiled a little more.
A PC may attempt a Diplomacy check to Make a Request of Mahu, if a player wishes.
Once a creature’s attitude has shifted to helpful, the creature gives in to most requests without a check, unless the request is against its nature or puts it in serious peril. Some requests automatically fail if the request goes against the creature’s values or its nature, subject to GM discretion.

Awesome. Thanks.
After we made him friendly, Corey's request was that we don't need an inspection.
I guess I would need to make another diplomacy check then.

The scenario did allow for a variety of ways to handle getting caught with the geode and reducing/avoiding possibly negative consequences. However, you didn't need them!

I am heading to a local convention tomorrow and celebrating a birthday. My posting between now and Monday may be limited. I hope to get another post up later today, but otherwise I will pick things up again sometime Monday.
GM Valen |
Sorry for the silence. Handling some work things and hope to get a post up sometime tomorrow.

No worries, we all have a real life, too. ;-)
Merida Bowie |
I'm traveling today - will post tomorrow.

Would Kura attack us while charmed? Doesn't she consider us her friends?
In short, it is possible.
My understanding of the charm spell is that it makes the targeted creature regard the caster as a trusted ally. As written, the spell does not necessarily alter the creature's attitude toward your allies. I believe the community consensus is that it is up to GM interpretation, particularly with respect to the creature's views of your allies.
First, while under the circumstances, Kura would not attack the caster while charmed, she may choose to attack members of the party while she is charmed charmed. She doesn't consider the entire party her friends, just the caster.
Second, it may be worth remembering that Kura had a readied crossbow. However, she spent her turn reaching for and used a thunderstone. Under the circumstances, one might think that Kura has something else in mind beyond simply attacking/murdering the caster's friends.

Ok, cool.
I thought i have to make an opposed charisma check to get her to do something that would be harmful to her. Let me look at the spell...
You can try to give the subject orders, but you must win an opposed Charisma check to convince it to do anything it wouldn't ordinarily do.
If she climbed up onto the roof, it would be ordinary for her to carefully climb down and join her "trusted friend".

Sorry I got behind on posting. I'll put up a post tonight. I'm leaving on Wednesday for a week long trip, but, it shouldn't affect my daily posts.
Corenthiir |
Still a bit behind. Sorry.
I was hoping Kura would be a helpful NPC as we navigated the city & attempted the other tasks. Corey is fine with letting her "reevaluate her life" (letting her go & not bother us for the 5 hours she is charmed).

Sorry, it's been a very busy 5 days.
I will return to the game during the day. Bot me if needed.

@GM: I'll assume, we waited with the next encounter until Merida can hear again, if that's ok.

I am fine with that.

Hello again. I'm joining you after the Dancing Dunes. I'm sorry, the difficult period has dragged on a bit.
Corenthiir |
Sorry. Been on the road the past 2 days driving from Denver back to Phoenix. I'm at home now. I only skimmed the past few posts. I'll go back over them and make my post.
Corenthiir |
Sorry again! Busy weekend with work. I'll get back to the game tonight!

As we await what task the PCs will choose next and how the current encounter will be resolved, let me take care of some housekeeping.
I do not anticipate that this table will complete before the end of Gameday XIII, which is November 17, 2024. However, I will need to report the table before then.
To do so, I need the following from each of you:
1) Make Sure Your Reporting Info is Correct:
I will reporting with RPGChronicles, the link is here. Please make sure the prefilled chronicle information is correct, including PC Name, PFS No., Faction, and Slow Track (if applicable).
Per below, if you want to be considered for a doorprize, make sure there is correct email information. You are free to provide any other missing info, but it is not necessary.
2) Provide/Confirm a Valid Email for Door Prizes/Boons:
Paizo has graciously offered up prize vouchers for Gameday. Winners will be randomly drawn from a pool of all players and GMs for reported games. These vouchers will need to be emailed, so players are encouraged to fill in their emails when signing up so that they can get their prizes when they win.
3) Roll for a PFS1 Boon:
A set of boons is available for winning PFS1 players. Each GM and Player of a PFS1 game has a 10% chance to win one of the lovely boons at random. Everyone at your table may roll a d20 and a roll of 1 or 20 wins. Winners will be asked to select the prize won (which I will provide in a dropdown field on the RPGChronicles report if there are winners. Winners must fill in their email addresses so the boon can be sent out to them.
I will get us started on the boon rolls:
Boon?: 1d20 ⇒ 17
Not a winner.
Merida Bowie |
I can haz boon?: 1d20 ⇒ 5 Nope.

I plan to report the game this weekend for Gameday as I have been instructed, although we still have more encounters to go.
Please note that you may not play this PC in another game until you receive the chronicle sheet, which I will not distribute until the table has completed. I anticipate that could be sometime in December as I will be traveling over the American Thanksgiving holiday. However, I also anticipate that it won't be an issue as I assume you are all planning to stick around for Part 2.

Same.
I am dramatically reducing the number of games according to the current workload and will be able to participate more normally in those games that will remain - and this trilogy is exactly one of them.
Merida Bowie |
That's exactly how I will go about it, too.
