Yeah visits make it clear why you are working so hard to be able to do things like that. I love going to visit family in Idaho and Washington, but it is several thousand dollars to pull off a family visit.

Posts will be hitting the boards tonight.
Echoing the comments, you guys are doing a stupendous job of writing and character development. It's all I can do to just keep up with it all!

Drogan Anvilsong |

Just giving you guys the heads up - I leave tonight for Gencon. This means that I probably won't be diong much posting until I get back on Monday.
I'll probably be able to post today, but if I get spotty for a while, it's because I'm rocking the con for InnRoads and trying to talk to gamers about how God loves them.

Go get 'em Mike! God bless you for putting it on the line!
If you can't post to the board as Drogan, post as yourself and let us know of there's specific prayers you'd like lifted up. You the Big Guy loves specifics!

You may want to pack a light jacket Mike, in case you haven't. Not sure what the weather has been like in your neck of the woods, but it's been cool here in the evenings and early mornings. We've had a very, very mild summer. I wouldn't mind, except that we've also had light showers several times per week the whole summer. In fact we've not had a week without rain since April I think.
Tough when you're trying to get hay cut and baled. :/

Have a great time at Gencon Mike!
I have a friend heading out that way who just told me that his marriage is breaking up, here is hoping God leads him your way.
Keep him in your prayers guys.

Karl Marsh |

Yeah, have a good time. I will make it there someday, maybe pick up the DM and road trip it. Sorry to hear about the marriage problems, hopefully it can be corrected.
Nosa it wasn't a PM it was in game.

Hey guys, you probably received a message from a rev. James Allen. Do not reply to it. It's a hoax.

Drogan Anvilsong |

It appears you guys haven't transitioned into the new stuff while I was away (which I am grateful for.)
I'm back home from Gencon. It was a great con for everybody involved with our booth. Made some great contacts with pastors, game designers, and people who listen to the podcast/visit the site (including our very own Phedron!)
Happy to be home though - so if you'll excuse me, I'm going to pass out and catch up on all the sleep I DIDN'T get over the past 4 or 5 days.

Excited to hear all about GenCon!
I'm a bit behind as well. Our family does a lot of 4H, and this past weekend was our big fair. I wore a pedometer to the fair grounds yesterday, and found that I walked eight miles on Sunday alone. :)
I hope to get caught up reading this weekend.

Nosatrub |

I'm around, just haven't had much free brain space to come up with a half decent post.
I'm right in the middle of back to school prep. Meet the teacher Wednesday, in service yesterday and today, room prep every moment in between. Add to that a wife with a massive flu and I'm taking care of all house duties right now. Things should normalize soon and I'll be able to get back in it.

Professor Lennox, DM |

No worries. Just checking in with the team. Good luck with prep, and prayers going out for your Mrs.

Question for the Pathfinder veterans.
When casting a spell...
Do you need to make a concentration check if you are not affected by any of the conditions in the table? I.E. wind, violent motion, etc...

Drogan Anvilsong |

Sorry I've been AWOL.
Between Gencon, trying to get new content on the site, and family stuff - it's been a little nutty around here.

Drogan Anvilsong |

By the way - did I mention I met Phedron at Gencon? The newest podcast has him on it.

Wicked awesome! I'm jealous of the GenCon attendance and the face time.
BTW, your DM is clapping his hands and squealing with girlish delight at the postage going on! Responses coming soon.

So in regards to the gear - is that "Agile breastplate" whose description reads "fashioned for a dwarf" ... is that the sort of metal armor that a dwarf of a more warrior-like stature might wear? Otherwise I had said I took that masterwork studded leather armor but never marked it.
Otherwise I might scoop up that potion of cure light wounds and give a statement like "I freshen up my spell components" and Drogan's good to go.

Professor Lennox, DM |

The Agile Breastplate is considered for warrior types, sure. But if you have the requisite proficiency (medium armor) it's fine for you. Otherwise it's a detriment to your movement with the combined penalties.
Agile Breastplate: This breastplate is specially crafted in a manner that allows extra maneuverability for some physical activities. The armor check penalty for Climb checks and jump checks is only –1 (masterwork and mithral versions of this armor reduce this penalty as well as the normal penalty).
》Armor/Shield Bonus (+6)
》Maximum Dex Bonus (+3)
》Armor Check Penalty (-4) on Dex-based
》Arcane Spell Failure 20%
》Currently has Damaged condition
* Damaged means that it won't take much to get this repaired (20 gold). Currently the armor is only good for a +5 AC bonus.
All: Don't forget you can attempt to sell some of that gear. A good Appraise check from the resident bard & rogue along with Diplomacy or Bluff checks could yield beneficial prices in the market areas of the Docks. Remember back at the beginning there's evidence (clear) that a thriving pit fighting business exists.

Drogan Anvilsong |

So I'm guessing I'm gonna go on a store run later tonight -- since I get a bonus to appraisals of non-magical items and I'm trained in Bluff AND Diplomacy. ;)

Nosatrub |

Just listened to the podcast.
What a great question and a lot of great answers.
Man I so wanted to go to the con. I made it back in 2011 and wish I could go every year...
sad face

it was a great time and I only had the fortune of making one day this year. I also happen to live within a 2 hour drive.
It was great to meet you Mike! I loved seeing that booth there.

Drogan Anvilsong |

Jeff - didn't know if going to town for supplies/selling stuff/repairs is going to warrant some RP, so I didn't put the various appraise, etc rolls in that post.
Figured you'd let me know if Drogan's actually successful in finding various shopkeeps/smiths that he's looking for too.

Professor Lennox, DM |

Will do, Mike.
Wow, I step away for a night and there's 10 posts waiting! Sweet!!

Professor Lennox, DM |

Master Drogan
Can you give me a list of the items you're looking to sell? Also, I was taking a gander at the Bard class and it doesn't look like you would be proficient the with that Agile Breastplate. But, that doesn't mean a fine piece like that wouldn't fetch you a nice trade in value on some quality light armor.
For all, be sure to take a peek at the supplies list to confirm what you want to keep.

Professor Lennox, DM |

A Note on the Advanced Classes Guide
I just picked up this mighty tome and will be reviewing it from the offerings therein. I have to say I'm fond of the Investigator and the Brawler. But there's also some new Archetypes available for the Core/Base Classes.
So I thought I'd throw it out there if you're interested in pursuing the new classes let me know. Also, if you'd like to take advantage of the new Archetypes, I'd be willing to let you take one up that would be effective from Level One forward.
As to Archetypes, if you would like to apply any that are available through Paizo material, let me know and I'll be happy to work with you.

Drogan Anvilsong |

So I'm going to reassert that the one from the half orc is now being worn by Drogan. As it stands, he had a moment where he disinfected it with birch branch smoke in order to clean the orc-funk out of it. ;)
that being said - he'd take the other masterwork studded armor and the agile breastplates that were damaged in hopes of scoring a favor with a dwarf armorsmith. He'd take all the scrolls that got tagged as "evil" (the curse water, inflict moderate wounds, and probably the black tentacle one just because - gross.) And he'd look to sell that chain hatchet that has already been appraised earlier since he knows none of us can use it.

One of these days, Phedron will get on his way. XD
I hope you don't mind Karl. It's too much fun to avoid the tension. I'll get a post up on the library tomorrow. Too much work XD. Well, I'm thankful to be busy. Just so much to do in a short time.

Professor Lennox, DM |

Goodness me, Phedron and Karl. Now it's my turn to have some popcorn and sit back to watch.

Professor Lennox, DM |

Master Foxglove
No rush on posting, but I wanted to be sure of where you might be going. I'm holding off on posting up for you in the meantime.

Master Lavios
What direction or activity would you like to partake in while waiting for the ship to leave?

Drogan Anvilsong |

For those of you playing our home game - Drogan's song can be sung to the tune of The Dragonborn Comes. ;)
