You proceed to room 1C-33 and start descending the stairs. Ten feet down, there is a stair that, if pressed, causes each step to flip over into a smooth ramp, coated with an almost frictionless substance that slides anyone down to the bottom of the stairs. You come out into a hallway going north. Yes, I know you were going south into the stairs. The magic of old school maps!

The passageway goes north 10' wide. Between 10'and 20' there is a side passage to the right, between 40' and 50' there is a door on the left.
brvheart |
Looking down the side passage, it goes 40'. Between 30'and 40' it turns south. Now we are getting really old school!

Makes sense to me. Let's check it out
May as well keep going

Sure... all for one, one for all. Or so the saying goes. Lookin at roll 20. Currently Aggy is in the middle rank next to Almon. I think its a good idea to have Darrien in the middle rank so he can protect everyone with his Bastion of Good if the need arises
brvheart |
Once the first four get passed it a portcullis falls trapping the remaining two Lars and Aggrammar on the other side. And no, there was no perception check to spot it.
Aggrammar Deepdelver |
"What the...?" - Aggrammar grumbles - "I don't like this lads" - he adds, moving forward and placing one hand on the porctulis and testing it for resistance - "Ye watch yer backs"
Pulling, and giving a try at lifting it. Just a try to see if it gives in a tad.
He looks around, fully expecting some sort of follow up to this.

"Lars, Aggrammar what do you want to do? Maybe you could stay right there and the rest of us will try to find a way to you from this side. . It's up to you. My concern is that if you move from there we might not be able to find you"

I'd prefer to lift it or break it down if possible. I don't like the idea of us being separated either. Maybe Almon could cast that spell to make Darrien bigger if that would help. Almon..I do have plenty of rope if you need it.

In the center of the portcullis a demonic looking face has been fashioned onto a disk of metal; when the portcullis falls, the face issues a deep, amused chuckle before falling silent.
You can use disable device or break.

After the gate has been lifted and the group is back together Sorek looks around and says "that's the first time a lock has ever laughed at me. . I would have loved to pour acid into it if I didn't have to worry about permanently Disabling it in the locked position. . Shall we continue down this hall? "

The floor of this room is five feet lower than the doors, and the entire floor burns with magical flames reaching to a height of two feet. In other words, there is a three foot gap from door level down to the top of the
flames, the flames are two feet high, and the floor is at the bottom. To anyone standing at the level of the doors, there is no heat emanating from the flames. However, if the characters reach down to test for heat, they discover that the heat starts one foot above the level of the flames and that the flames themselves are as hot as normal flames—the heat just doesn’t rise very high, for some reason.
brvheart |
Each door has a button next to it on the inside of the room to the left of
the door. The button can easily be reached from the door without any risk
of falling into the flames.
In addition to the fiery floor and the buttons, the room has a third strange
feature: chains hang from the twenty foot tall ceiling at ten-foot intervals,
each chain fifteen feet in length. Thus, a six foot tall person hanging from
the end of the chain would have his feet approximately at the point where
the heat of the fire begins. It is obvious that one way of crossing the room
would be to swing across by using the chains (hold your feet up!), catching
the next chain at the end of each swing.

Psionics Expanded Update
This power is one of a few that was originally released in Psionics Unleashed, but has been updated since the release of Psionics Expanded to be a Psionic Talent. This changed a few details of the power, but it is still usable as such. For more information, please refer to Psionic Talents.
DESCRIPTION
You can mentally lift and move an object at will from a distance. As a move action, you can propel the object as far as 15 feet in any direction, though the power ends if the distance between you and the object exceeds the power’s range.
Augment You can augment this power in one or both of the following ways. Alternatively, if you expend your psionic focus when manifesting this power, the cost of the power is reduced by 1 (to a minimum of 0), but the power cannot be augmented by either of the following options.
1. For every 2 additional power points you spend, this power’s range increases by 5 feet.
2. For every additional power point you spend, the weight limit of the target increases by 2 pounds.
3. If you expend your psionic focus when manifesting this power, the cost of the power is reduced by 1 (to a minimum of 0)

"You can mentally lift and move an object at will from a distance". So I should be able to either push the buttons or push a coin into them. By simply concentrating this psionic talent has a range of 30ft. I can pay 2pp and gain an extra 5ft. Is that enough to reach the buttons?
brvheart |
Sorek, the button by your door is within easy reach. Pressing one of the buttons by the east or west doors releases a thirty foot bridge from beneath the door, which extends at door level (three feet above the fire). You can then use Far Hand to press the button on the far side and extend the bridge to you. The question is do you want to go south or east?
Sorek |
and while going across the bridge Sorek holds onto the chains as much as possible in case the bridge drops out from beneath him
