they patched it. all good.
Noted Kerruk; that'll work!
Tap, or anyone else - mind directing me to the Airskin rules? I can't find it on the PFSRD
Current HP: 28 of 28 Sylph Oracle 5
Sorry that I haven't been posting guys, I've been having trouble getting the page to load the past few days
Current HP: 28 of 28 Sylph Oracle 5
Alright, now that I'm caught up on game play, here is what I can do to help.
I can cast 2 spells that would be beneficial.
Ant Haul would increase our ability to carry back anything we find.
Summon Monster would let me summon up a dolphin or some such that could assist someone in swimming down there.
What are everyone's thoughts and/or preferences?
Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5
interesting, Rush. Let's see what we find.
Np Rush, the site has definitely been spotty of late
I'm tanned, stiff, and back to civilization.

+1 on rolls for Father's day?
Happy Fathers day guys. Sorry, had to run out of town for family stuff. Back now and will be updating today.
Thanks Tap, I had forgotten about the air bladders
yeah...this is a weird fight...Eels and Dolphins fighting each other, Jack for lunch, and Tap the waterdancer;)
Current HP: 28 of 28 Sylph Oracle 5
I named my dolphin Echo. Because....reasons.
M Human Barbarian/4
The +1 wouldnt be halved Tap, all good
Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5
what is the to-hit on this eely beast?
I'm confused, Is Jack in the ell's jaws, or wrapped up by it's body?t
Kerruk got a 25 again for Swimming but it seems to have disappeared, although it does show up in a list of Kerruk's posts...wierd.
Yeah, sorry...that wan't described so well. But, Jack was caught in the jaws of the eel, not wrapped up in its body. The Eel then released him to bite the Dolphin in half.
Jack - AC is 19
The rules are a bit vague about the swim checks; as far as I can tell, the swim checks are largely for movement in a general direction, but in my mind they make sense for combat as well. So, I don't think Jack's failing the swim check would nullify his attack, but I do think that this rule should be used in the event of a failed check:
Creatures flailing about in the water (usually because they failed their Swim checks) have a hard time fighting effectively. An off-balance creature loses its Dexterity bonus to Armor Class, and opponents gain a +2 bonus on attacks against it.
Let me know if anyone sees it differently. That would mean that Jack hit the eel, but he's going to be off-balance after.
yeah.
According to that page failing a swim check while fighting with a piercing weapon is a -2 to attack, half damage.
–2/half

Ha! Sorry Jack, and thanks Sub; I just wasn't following the intent of the table. It's fairly straightforward then....this is what I get for delving into my first underwater combat
Underwater fighting is hard.
I wonder if Tap can find some type of water bow :)

Hehe
Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5
what does it take to intimidate an eel?
my intimidate rolls are based on this ability:
Quote: Menacing Swordplay (Ex): At 3rd level, while she has at least 1 panache point, when a swashbuckler hits an opponent with a light or one-handed piercing melee weapon, she can use Intimidate to demoralize that opponent as a swift action instead of a standard action.
getting desperate now.
Sleep spell is useless against such as this.. I'll probably want to retrain it soon since it has a 4hitdice limit.
Current HP: 28 of 28 Sylph Oracle 5
This fight is going way worse than I thought it would.
Jack, you may have lucked out...your first intimidate is a success! Thus, its shaken, meaning a -2 to its rolls...so, Tap's trick worked
Also, you had a -2 to attack due to being grappled, but thats still a hit.
Kerruk, have anything to post to add to this madness? You'd go before Jack.
FYI, DC of the intimidate check is 10 + hit dice + wis modifier, in this case - 18
ouch this under water combat is really hard. I guess Tap failed the concentration check.
Dangit! You added in for your inspire?
If he survives, Tap might not ever swim in the ocean again.
Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5
this eel would be a good familiar
as a rule familiars dont get to be giant savage beasts..unless you magic it with a permed spell.
Watch out after I make Tacktack a medium sized creature and ride the monkey
Its a bit vague since we don't have a 3D map I can really make, but I'm figuring that Rush can...sort of...cast close to the surface and still reach down for healing...otherwise, he'd have to roll concentration checks too
Current HP: 28 of 28 Sylph Oracle 5
Nayr, that's what I was presuming, but I guess I should have asked, and that's my bad. Rush doesn't swim well, what with having his leg bitten off as a child, he never really tried to learn.
Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5
Hey Rush, understand. Hope she gets well.
Seconded. Never a fun time for a parent.
Thirded. Best wishes to you and yours Rush.
Absolutely Rush, take care of your daughter first and foremost! Get back to us whenever you can, and best wishes
Nice work Rush, now another immediate concern is that Jack lost his breath upon his heading towards the light. So, his lungs are now filling with water
Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5
Is this not something Jack can parry? Jack parried with a 24.
Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5
or maybe the grapple reduced it down to 22
Male Human Swashbuckler Lvl 5
really, we should have retreated and regrouped while we had the chance
Not sure. maybe -2 penalty
http//www.d20pfsrd.com/gamemastering/conditions/#TOC-Grappled
Well Tap is planning to swim up dragging Jack with him, or swim up take a breath, cast cure light wounds and touch Jack, or cast illusion of a giant shark.
Jack, your vote.
Current HP: 28 of 28 Sylph Oracle 5
My daughter is home now, so all concerns mostly assuaged.
That is good to hear Rush.
Good to hear man, I hope for a speedy recovery!
