I am here to sing you the song of my people.

...

Actually, I'm a dog, so you're not likely to get any buffs. I mean seriously, I'm not a familiar. I'm sorta bad at this.

^^Because street performers, especially lawyers don't like competition:-D^^

Generally I like to come up with an original forum name but this was one of the few times I did not.

Lemartes is simply my favourite Warhammer 40000 character as I feel he embodies the setting better than any other. And he's kind of a badass. ;)

Yet another boring person who used their own name. The avatar is because I used to have red(der) hair; more on top and less on the chin, though. (Gave up on a long beard around the time that my very strong baby daughter got grabby, so something over twenty years ago.)

Grand Lodge

I used to use my real name. This was back in '95 or so, and the internet was rather new. (Still on dial-up.) I heard tell about how you shouldn't give your identity away, so I came up with this as a replacement. Been using it ever since.

I used to play in Wintergreen's (Dave Harrison) old dnd game back at Uni...and one of my many characters (many unnotable deaths!) was a elven ranger called Trevaine (like Tremaine, but not). But wait, the red hair, the wisps of smoke? He was secretly a red dragon shapeshifted into an elf!!! Cleverly, it was never the bonus you'd think, Wintergreen made sure of that!! Trevaine became a recurring villain in different games I ran over the years; from an Ars Magica game, to a campaign I ran for my own kids. Obviously, he called himself Lord due to his ego y'know....as a handle, Trevaine never works, but Lord Trevaine does.
Avatar is a red dragon because, welll, ummm....

Captain Yesterday is my real name :-)

I complained once, when I was young, my Dad said " Could've named you Sue" I haven't complained since :-)

First or last?

First then middle, last is Kieswololoski :-)

Back in the dear dead days someone grouched at me because my pseudonym was hard to pronounce. they pronounced it as 'ohako', so I've stuck with that ever since.

As for my lack of avatar picture, well, the image I use for everything else is the Japanese flag crossed with the Danish flag (so, a meatball with an off-center cross in it). It looks a lot like the Smash Brothers logo. That's my personal mon, so i'm not interested in using any other. Wouldn't feel like 'me'.

Scarab Sages

Arazyr was a name I came up with for a background character for a story I was writing, set in my homebrew campaign setting. It was just random syllables that sounded vaguely decent. 8^)

Since the Arazyr in my story was a powerful wizard, I decided to use an "old man" avatar pic. I guess it kind-of worked out, since back in Intermediate School (what we called Jr. High where I grew up) a classmate once took to calling me "Grandpa" - because he thought I looked like an old man. Not sure where he got that from.

Anyway, sometime before I signed up on the paizo.com, I decided to consolidate my online identity. I had been using several different pseudonyms; the main one was something I took from a Spelljammer monster: DeGleash. One of the Plasmoids. But, I decided I wanted to use one thing everywhere, and I didn't want to use something "stolen", so I remembered the NPC from that story and switched to using that name. Has the advantage of being *almost* never taken.

I'm a zombie/knitting joke.

I exist to argue contrary points.

Devils are less suited to this task, due to their lawful nature - we demons are more prone to argue for the sake of argument, and the chaos it causes.

I almost was The Qlippoth's Advocate, but really, then I'd just ignore arguments in favor of killing stuff. Admittedly a fun prospect, but it's so one-dimensional as to be laughable.

Short for: Pencil Crayon, the first object I saw while trying to think of a handle...

Oh, you guys! You're so kooky :-)

Short form, it's my favorite character from my favorite books.

Longer form - I use it as my internet ID - I have that same name on every messageboards/Forums I am on* - and if that name is taken, I use another reference to the character.

Longest form - I got on the internet about the time the world wide web was just getting popular - one description of it "It's the graphical side of the internet". Prodigy was the big ISP, long before AOL. I got into MOOs - text based multiplayer chat rooms built of text based MMO framework (known as MUDs - Multi User Dungeons). I got on for social reasons, and I needed a character name - so I thought for a few days, and pick Mhoram. As that was my first time doing anything on the internet, I kept that as my internet name, about 25 years now.

The pic is the closest there was to my longest played character - a Champions super hero that I played for something like 25 years.

*I'm the same Lord Mhoram at ENWorld, Here, Hero Games, Green Ronin, RPGnet, the RPG Site, Rock Band.....

Silver Crusade

Why it's probably a bad idea to let someone who has never played a caster before and is still new to the game play a Sorcerer with fireball.

My original pic was Delvahine because she just looked so crazy awesome (emphasis on the crazy) and now I have Areelu because she looks so Badass.

I like wizards so my avatar picture tends to be of a wizard.
I use my real name on the Paizo boards.

And how did you like them? Baked, fried, barbecued, kabobs... raw? Or was it in soup? Maybe as incense? :D

Aptly named disaster waiting to happen....

Mine is... my name. Because I'm a real professional adult. I've got a website and everything.

On the other hand, my old handle comes from an old Champions game in which my friend and I competed to come up with the weirdest superheroes we could make. My buddy Alex came up with Noir, the Man Who Sees Crows, a Daredevil-style blind ninja, who, due to a slip of the tongue, could see nothing but crows. My contribution was The Eldritch Mr. Shiny, a broke newspaper reporter who read the Necronomicon by accident and was driven insane, but given Lovecraft-themed superpowers. Imagine Deadpool with the ability to call upon the power of Yog-Sothoth.

Guess who won. We never did end up playing the actual campaign, though. Whatever. I was a dumb kid anyway.

My actual account is JDPhipps, which is a shortened form of my real name, but my DM alias is named after the fact that my players refer to me as being evil when it comes to DMing.

The picture looked cool.

Mine is from my very first Champions character, and he got that name because that was one of my favorite Marvel characters from back in the day.

This particular avatar picture was chosen because of its uncanny resemblance to this jerk.

Every version of fenris /fenrir is usually taken.

Using my regular alias for everything. Mixing actual name with fixation. I'm a demonologist named Archer. A slight cooky twist on demon-archer i suppose

It's a reference to the deepest and most involved character I've made yet, an Alkenstarian LE Human gunslinger, known to her comrades as "Kismet" ... not her name, admittedly, but her nomme-du-guerre, certainly.

However, "Kismet" was already taken.

The picture looks nothing like the character, but there was no picture that remotely resembled her, so I went with a picture with a bit of attitude and which I liked in general.

He was my first PC, a Taldan paladin of Shelyn. Not very creative, I know.

Some guy somewhere said that in Pathfinder a 90 year old with a cane can kill an ancient Red Dragon, now it's my go to alias for being cranky and old :-)

Now get off my lawn before I sick my Owlbear on ya!

Damn kids! Don't know when to shut up! Why, back in my day...

Shadow Lodge

I don't understand. Could you clarify?

I didn't understand either, hence the alias, it was in Nobodyshome wrath of the righteous thread, I'll find it later it's actually pretty funny :-)

Edit: it was actually in How did your Erylium encounter go :-)

Goth Guru is ironic. Would you go to a guru to learn how to be depressed? Of course not. I joined the Paizo message boards while DMing Age of Worms. This was before the 4th edition split. I grabbed the avatar and haven't found one that fits better.

Mostly that I was sick of only having my main identity, The Halfa Wannabe. I've been using variations on it for 10 years or more. Now I occasionally mix it up with The Indescribable.

From my Email address based on a old SCA persona. It's also gaelic for Douglas. the Avatar cause it kinda looks like me or will in about 2 or 3 years

I have better things to do than talk with... peasants.

Now shoo! Off with you! Go find a soup rat, or shoe, or whatever it is you people put in a cooking pot and tell yourself it's edible.

I figured you were claiming to be knowledgeful on either Goths, goths, or goth.

I suppose you could also be claiming to be an expert of gothic fiction.

:)

I have no idea.

I was a weeaboo child when I started playing Pathfinder, so my handle pretty much everywhere was Rei-chan (yes, after Rei Ayanami - I had her hair for a bit and the name stuck for a few years after). At least when I registered for Paizo, I had the sense to leave the honorific off.

Nowadays, I almost always go by Loviatar (no, NOT after the Forgotten Realms goddess) but that was already taken on here when I tried to change, so I ended up sticking with this.

Last year when I was creating my -1 I was kind of stuck for a character name, since I didn't want to use my home campaign name from the 'inspiration character' so I wouldn't get them confused.

In said home campaign I go by the moniker 'Wageslave' or 'Wage' or familiarly 'Wagey'

It wasn't hard to shift that to Wei Ji.

Then after GenCon, I discovered I'm always learning new stuff both here and in play, so 'The Learner' was quickly appended before the name-lock.
