What does your Paizo handle mean?

I hail from the time of the great edition wars. Back in my day, we just didn't need a reason to hop a squat.

Someone once told me "You should be more careful, dude." and I put on my armor- you know, just in case.

I actually answered this previously. Looks like those last two cretins followed me instead of preceding me last time.

The avatar? Who doesn't love Tengu/Kenku?

Ooh, I love talking about my internet handle. It's such an interesting story.

It means nothing. I made up the word playing Runescape back in 2002-2003 because I was sick of my previous username always being taken. So, I made up a word by just throwing syllables together. Since then, I've never had to worry about my name being taken again.

I chose mine because medieval titles are cool. I chose the picture because I like reptiles. Nothing that interesting on reflection.

My forum name references an event that happened in about 1991, I think. I was dming for my friends and tpked them on a whim with a Molten Dragon.

It's significant to me because they keep reminding me of it to this day. I've gotten better as a DM I swear.

Anyway, the pic was a random choice.

*Raises hand*

They're OKAY.

I like green tea. I used to be an big gamer, from videogames to tabletop to board games to...Well, I suppose that about covers it all. I chose this handle as my go-to for all avenues of the net, from message boards to email to everything in between.

I have since quit videogames, and since almost everyone associates gamers with videogames, I changed it everywhere but here...I had a few hundred posts by then and didn't want to lose my established board recognition, such as it is. To you guys I'm still a gamer, because you, unlike most people, know there's more than videogames out there.

My original black knight avatar was simply chosen by sorting by least used and picking one at random. I have since chosen this one because it is a plant type...and not very popular of try...and that kind of fills the "green tea" role.

Oh, it's all lowercase and no spaces because a few websites back in the day wouldn't allow you to use spaces or change the capitalization, so I just got into the habit of making all my aliases like that from board to board. Now I wish I could change it.

Instead I have to settle for using this alias as I rip-off TOZ by randomly swapping between aliases with no discernable reasoning.

THIS ALIAS, OBVIOUSLY EVEN BEYOND SIMPLE MYTHIC POWER, IS FOR MOCKING THE MYTHIC ALIASES, ESPECIALLY JIGGY'S RIDICULOUS 1/2 DRAGON GESTALT MYTHIC ONE, AND NOT BECAUSE I AM JEALOUS HE THOUGHT OF IT BEFORE ME, SO STOP LOOKING AT ME LIKE THAT WITH YOUR JUDGMENT!!!

I don't have this alias because I secretly yearn for a simpler life of living in a log cabin in the mountains and hunting deer with my wits and wrestling Big Foot with my bare hands, because that would be unrealistic... *sigh*

In case you haven't figured it out yet, I like making parody aliases of other people's names.

My name came about because of my theatrical experience; directors loooove casting me as bad guys over and over. I think I used The Brutish Celt back on the old Wizards forums before the big migration to PF.

Avatar is just because I like snakes, and because it was one of the least-used avatars when I picked it.

The whole snakes thing is actually kinda weird; snakes are usually pretty chill around me, but rodents HATE me. Even got attacked by a "tame" squirrel that everyone else was able to hand feed and pet and all that jazz. Went through 2 gerbils & a hamster before I gave up on that jazz.

It just is....but any play by posters have a great many message board aliases.

I saw someone using this avatar and I couldn't stop laughing, because instead of the creepy zombie I'm supposed to see, all I could see was someone who passed out at their desk, then suddenly woke up a couple hours later with paperwork stuck to their face. So I just couldn't resist making an alias for it. :D

Now turn that light out so I can get back to sleep.

Umbral Reavers are a kind of outsider in the Iron Kingdoms setting, which I am rather fond of.

So that's where I stuck my shopping list...

This alias is from the same episode as captain yesterday, and all lowercase to fit his pattern.

Yeah, it's too bad my wife couldn't get it!!

And my pattern by the way is I'm lazy about capitalization

...Who, for some unknown reason has gotten into the habit of making aliases that spoof me, like thegreenrangergamer, or theredbulljackandcokegamer.

I can't imagine how that little spoofing battle started...

If she's a messageboard frequenter, I haven't used it ten times yet. I can change it, effectively freeing up the name, if you ask nicely and she tells something embarrassing about you. :-P

Oh no it's all good just joking, I got one in reserve, ready to be deleted at any time :-)

I'm a Deer

Don't forget thegreenpartygamer in this, our, um.. our most important of election seasons, if any election that can, uh... lessee, clean up Washington... and, ah.. puppies! Everyone gets a puppy, maybe... to be honest I don't really know where to go with this, so.....

The story behind that is for months I thought your name was thegreatgreengamer, it wasn't til you started your tea thread that I realized my mistake :-)

So that's why I try to adhere to the green shtick, tho you made me create TheRedbulljackandCokegamer when you insisted I go with a caffeine theme :-)

What does your nickname here on Paizo mean?
It's a name I've went by since I was a teen, it's just how I love to think of myself, as a King and Highborn. :P

Why did you pick it?
I've just gotten so used to it, I use it or just Kingman for just about anything I do.

Why did you pick your avatar?

Because I love catfolk, and want to be one IRL.

Smurfs.

But can there be too many Smurfs?

I had an old Rifts character named Kestrel, now used for various online handles. He was a demigod child of Thoth in an over the top campaign (still using Palladium's rules, so legal PC in that system). This also meant he was part Great Old One in that system.

I had to add the initial of his last name since "Kestrel" was taken.

The avatar I used was Egyptian themed (if there is a pic of Thoth, I would gladly change the image).

I too seem to recall answering this before.

Scythia was my first ever MMORPG character, in Ragnarok Online. I use the name now in every online game I play, as well as for video games at home. I've never used it for a tabletop character.

The image is from my favourite art in any pathfinder book. Also, conveniently, similar to how I picture Scythia.

How the hell did you get people you know to actually call you "Kingman Highborn"?

I know I personally would have been like "Whatever Todd (or whatever your name is), I'm not calling you that".

Well it is my name...so...probably because I really don't like the anonymity of the internet and the rude behavior I see come from it.

As for my avatar I just liked the picture.

Have no idea what it says about me.

R_Chance. Random Chance. Been using variations on it for years. Played a lot of shooters with it (Doom series, Quake series, Unreal Tournament series, etc.). Got to the point where I answered to it. As for the avatar... I'm old, it fits :)

It's a play on Rosie the Riveter, of course, because I much prefer to write industrialized campaign settings. I made her Rosita because she's tannish skinned and my setting's counterpart to Mexico is an economic powerhouse.

Should say nick name then I guess. It evolved from a lot of influences and my (overinflated) ego.

Really only my close friends call me Kingman, and those in the furry fandom.

It's my actual nickname, and I've been using it since I grew out of my stupid teenage tendency to use dramatic sounding Latin names on for accounts on various sites. Aside from here, I use it for my blog, PSN and Xbox Live accounts, and various other messageboards.

As for how it came around. Back before I went bald and grew a beard, when I still had my long beautiful hair and a fairly slim build (seriously, I need to get back into the gym...) I was a crossdresser. I'd just moved out of home, going from a small country town with a fairly narrow minded outlook on a lot of things (I used to catch a lot of flack for the fact that I wore a sarong), and was out on my own in a city so I decided to start doing things I'd wanted to for a while. I used to call up some of the girls I hung out with on Friday nights and tell them what I wanted to look like for the weekend (usually some variation of "A pretty princess" or "a pretty fairy princess"). They tended towards the Victorian Gothic end of the fashion spectrum, so I'd usually end up in gorgeous layered skirts and corsets, sometimes with some wings and a tiara they made me when the store I was 2IC for decided to do a Pirates vs Fairies theme and told me I had to dress up without specifying I was meant to be a pirate.

Anyway, this led to me being introduced to quite a few people as Tinkerbell. Then it became Tinkerbell the Fairy Goth-Mother. After a while, depending on the person it either got shortened down to Tink, or to Tinkergoth. I liked it, and it stuck. There's still quite a few people I see around who only know me as Tink, and honestly think it's my real name. Given how often people get my real name wrong, I very rarely bother correcting people. Hell, the local Turkish restaurant thinks my name is Higgins, and I just run with that.

Mine is a side-reference to Le Chant des Partisans. A French Resistance song that resonates very strongly with me.

And the raven was my favorite symbol animal for a long time after I accidentally drew one in the heraldry for my very first RPG character.

This is technically Pseudonym #2 on the IntarWebz.

It's more my gaming alias, as opposed to my art name.

It came about around the time where FPS became more CounterStrike than Half-Life or Unreal Tournament, and I tended to go after the arsehats who self-proclaimed as elite in excess of their actual talents or capability.

While not quite the Proletariat myself, I still tended to be a greater supporter of the general public, and avoided the mindset of 'everyone sucks and I'm better than them', instead being more of a 'people are pretty awesome, and those who segregate away from them instead of engaging tend to suck'.

In a weird way, that prompted the mask selection - I like to think of myself as attempting to be the inverse of the GIFTheory. Also because I like Procyonid Lotor, and in my art life my totem of sorts is one, so it was a subtle nod towards Pseudonym #1, which is themed around the Divine Wind and a certain Giant Robot Series with a Zetta in the name.
