So for her to do that, is not unexpected. Most lesbians and queer women have a rough time of it at some point. Not really an excuse to be that manipulative.
Like?

I'm with Rysky. Give us an example!
Off the top of my head...Maggie lies about how her parents reacted to her coming out of the closet, and she also lies about why she and her ex broke up. Honestly, when her middle of the night phone call to her father that she hadn't talked to in 15 years was so oddly casual, I thought it would be another instance of her lying/manipulating Alex.

Yeah I didn't really see that. Extremely guarded and expecting things to go bad due to a lifetime of being let down by people yes, but not manipulative.
It sucks....however....if this creates an opening for a certain Kate Kane to show up, I won't complain.
Kate showing up would be great.

Uh, what? Lying that everything went okay when she came out to her family in order to give her girlfriend courage to come out to her family is not being manipulative.

Not always, we're not talking Paladin here. Or should she completely have shattered any confidence she built up. "Yeah, my family completely abandoned me for being gay so, you're probably going to lose your mom and sister too, but go for it honey."
People in really life, who aren't a$$holes, and care about other people's feelings understand that saying the absolute truth can sometimes be more hurtful or damaging than a falsehood.
If anyone's ever told you "You can do it." "You got this.", "I'm sure you can handle it".....they're probably lying for you're own good. We do this for people we love sometimes because hearing and believing it can make it true, when it isn't.

Good people can lie, especially if it's done for the right reasons.
Anyways, so maybe Kate Kane, maybe Rene Montoya?
Isn't that who see was just engaged too? ;)
I mean, will they cast a blonde Montoya to counter the latina Sawyer? I suspect the only reason they left the name Maggie was because they had access to Superman characters and not Batman.

Damon,
The fact that I'm pretty sure we're watching Earth-31 and Smallville was probably Earth-49?
Not sure I follow. Sure, Smallville can exist in the CW multiverse. My point was that Kara making fairly pointed references to the Smallville universe was a stupid choice, due to Smallville's very different interpretations of Kara, Jimmy Olsen, Green Arrow...
Chloe and the Wall of Weird are only known to have existed in the Small'verse, so this felt like the writers trying to link the two shows in some way rather than retconning an Earth-31 Chloe into existence.
Incidentally, why Earth-49, particularly?

Thomas Seitz |

Damon,
It was just a random number I came up with. That and I can't always remember the DC Multiverse as well as I can Marvel's.
As for Chloe being 'retcon' it's not necessarily that since she DID show up in comics....once.
Ah. I was just curious...Also I thought Episode 10 was the cross-over episode...

GreenDragon1133 |
Lois' cousin Chloe was added to the comics, so she could exist in other universes.
I finally put my finger on Superman in this universe. Ever watch the George Reeves series? Or really almost every TV superhero until recently. The title character is the only superhero in the world, and there are almost no supervillains. He/she fights one off bank robbers and mobsters.
Because this is Earth-Supergirl, and all the traditional Superman villains, except Lex and Reactron appeared first in National City recently, that is what his life has been like for the last couple decades.

I don't see why some version of Chloe couldn't exist in the Supergirl universe or why anyone would think she would have to explicitly be the Smallville version. I thought it was a fun reference.
I will say both the actresses playing the younger versions of the Danvers girls did an excellent job of emulating the speech and mannerisms of the originals. I did find the blue contacts that young Kara was obviously wearing a little distracting, but her performance was spot-on.

I finally watched last Monday. RRRRR!!!!!
You do not pair Mon-El with Imra! Or Tinya, or Salu. And Laurel - just eww! That's like introducing Lois Lane-Digby.
After Shady hooked up with Earth-Man, I'm numb to any possible pairing of Legionnaires. (And Imra's already dated others, in various continuities, such as her long-term relationship with Rokk, in the Reboot, IIRC.)
It's an AU. The upside of Mon-El being married to this version of Imra is that he won't be hooking back up with Kara and will presumably leave the show when they fix up the DeLorean and go back to the future.
Off to the cornfield with you, not-Mon-El!
:)

Bigger question: how? How is there any Kryptonite on Earth-1?
Also: the Nazis killed the Greatest American Hero! They killed Ralph!
That was a sweet Vibe/Arrow combo move.
Who was that girl talking to Barry right before it all went down?
Did they ever say that there was no Krypton or an Kryptonian on Earth-1^^?

Maybe Krypton didn't blow up in Earth-1's verse, and the Kryptonite is from a meteor. Just because there's no Clark Kent and Kara Danvers doesn't mean there's no Kal-El and Kara Zor-El somewhere out there.
Tho I like the idea of Karen Starr showing up too.
Eta: Dear autocorrect: please stop correcting "Danvers" to "Dancers."
Eta again: Hard to buy Dark Arrow and Evil Supergirl. Amell (autocorrect: "smell") and Benoist, both good actors, had no chemistry. Although maybe that's the point, idk.

You'd think Supergirl X would have been a little more affected by getting shot with a Kryptonite arrow, considering how much just being in proximity of Kryptonite affects original Kara. (Maybe it's a side-effect of her blood being over-saturated with solar radiation, it just seemed odd.)
I really enjoyed the two episodes, though "Earth 1 Thawne with Wells' face: alt-Earth Nazi True Believer" seemed really weird.
Awkward wedding attendant was definitely a time traveler and likely a Barry/Iris descendant, IMO.

I was confused by that character when first watching it, but watched the ep a second time with my 19-year-old when he came home from work and I'm pretty sure it's going to end up being Barry/Iris' daughter from the future or an alternate Earth.
