The reason I asked was that I'm putting together the Player's Guide, and while I have a big list of stuff that I think would work well, I wanted to see if the community had any ideas or thoughts that I might have overlooked—a likely certainty. As we make more and more material, it gets somewhat difficult to highlight the best options without missing others.

Dwarf slayer makes such a natural fit... Giant Hunter, Lorekeeper, Mountaineer, and Stubborn alternate racial traits; vanguard archetype; probably Vagabond Child to handle (non-magical) locks/traps; possibly multi-classing into warpriest (champion of the faith) for smite (and a little channeling for healing/undead).
Half-orc bloodrager might also be interesting... Toothy alternate racial trait, of course; greenrager and metamagic rager archetypes; draconic (green) bloodline; Birthmark trait for the save bonus; probably taking at least 4 levels in dragon disciple.
A shaman (animist) could probably fill in the party support caster role pretty handily (especially if human for the +1 cleric spell per level FCB), as well as the "face" (Bastard or Suspicious trait to make Sense Motive a class skill). The versatility of Wandering Spirit and being able to Wrangle Condition to remove status effects without spells can definitely add to the versatility of the character (even if choosing Battle as the primary spirit).
An exploiter wizard is also probably a good choice, since Thassilonian themes will likely be somewhat to fairly frequent. Human, with Focused Study and Skill Focus (Knowledge (Arcana); to pick up Eldritch Heritage (Arcane bloodline) for Arcane Bond at 3rd and possibly Improved Eldritch Heritage for Metamagic Adept at 11th level), as well as Dangerously Curious (to make Use Magic Device a class skill).

Druid - possibly a Storm druid or a Mountain druid. Not certain on the race, but half-orc has been looking good to me lately. Eagle shaman could be kind of interesting, too.
I'd love to play some sort of rock-hopping Barbarian, leaping about with an oversized weapon wrested from some dumb giant. Death-defying, living on the edge of a precipice every second, thrilling in the sheer physicality of it all. Kinda like my first Exalted character, actually.

I've got several ideas I'd like to play, but the one that stands out at the moment is my Phalanx Soldier who wields a sarissa; eventually alongside a tower shield. I see him starting out not really interested in the "mission" preferring to be out hunting wild animals/magical beasts, over time though he'll see how much of a threat to his way of life the storm tyrant's ambition is and that he needs to get on the same page as the more outright heroic characters.

Likely booked as a Face but with heel traits ;)
Whatcha gonna do Jotunn when the real truth, the 24 inch pythons and Ulfenamania runs wild on you brodir?

Mechanics: Halfling debuffing Witch making use of Jinx and eventually Area Jinx and Jinxed Spell (both separately and in combination). Powerful single targets and eventually powerful multiple targets are going to have very unlucky days.
Story: I would like to find some potential for redemption in this AP.

For class, I'm thinking DM. Probably specializing in fudging dice rolls and making up rules as I go along. I'll take a two-level dip in Map-Drawing so that the starting gear of three boxes of pawns doesn't go to waste. Depending on whether I'm having trouble with PCs, maybe look into the TPK feat chain starting at level seven. Dunno, probably play it mostly be ear.

Sub-Creator |

I haven't decided on race yet; either human or half-orc.
I plan to play a Hunter Mammoth Rider with a Megatherium animal companion (as they have the natural ability to climb). Rather than going all 9 levels in Hunter though, I might dip 2-3 levels in Ranger or Fighter for better BAB and Favored Enemy/Feat help.

I'm considering a Half-Orc Summoner (Blood God Disciple). It seems like an interesting archetype and a bit of a challenge to balance Caster with Eidolon and then switch to Raging Melee fighter. Gonna have to be careful about the build I think. Considering we'll likely be fighting a lot of heavy melee hitters I need to make sure the character isn't too fragile

Gnome Alchemist who specializes in Dirty Trick and nailing giant sandals to the ground with iron spikes and a hammer.
I'm sorry but as someone that works in the construction field, i can say with a thousand percent certainty, you would be dead before you could think of trying to even stab the giant in the foot with the nail, go ahead get a nail, board and hammer, now have someone moving it around while you try to hammer it.
didn't work did it:)
it is a hilarious image, i'll give you that, but so unbelievable as to be impossible (no matter how many Hero Points or Mythic Surges you expend!)

That's what the Alchemist part is for!
Mutagens, true strike extracts, and invisibility/greater invisibility potions!
I've actually put this concept to use (in the game of course) and it works, is fun, and hilarious. Dirty Trick is an extremely fun combat maneuver.
But I get your point about real life...I can't really hit something with a bastard sword 5 times in 6 seconds either :)

As a result of a PM discussion about Tower Shieldadin builds that then went into the benefits of a Halfling Monk using Monkey Style, all of a sudden, I'm getting a vision of an All-Halfling party for Giantslayer:
1. Underfoot Adept Monk built for Monkey Shining, with a 1 level dip in Mouser. Trips up your enemies and makes them vulnerable to the Ninja. Also does decent melee damage and is hard to take out.
2. Mouser Shieldadin: Mouser 1 + Tower Shield Specialist 5 or 6 + Paladin (Sacred Shield with optional Warrior of the Holy Light) rest of the way up, not necessarily in that order; not taking the Battle Herald option, because the party will have a separate Bard. Makes enemies have a really hard time hurting any of the party; can get into an enemy's face unexpectedly to make them less effective, and is surprisingly hard to take out, but too painful to ignore, and can even make enemies waste AoOs simply by having insanely high AC.
3. Witch specializing in debuffing including Jinxing, with secondary focus on AoE damage and battlefield control, eventually including Area Jinx. Really hoses single powerful enemies, and eventually multiple powerful enemies, by making them ineffective and vulnerable. Can deal with swarms in an emergency.
4. Ninja (not sure if you can add useful archetypes to this) built for Dirty Trick, with a secondary focus on ranged Sneak Attack. Use a combination of Vanishing Trick and Dirty Tricks to make enemies susceptible to Sneak Attack even when you can't get a flank. Primary melee damage dealer, but can eventually also Snap Shot Sneak Attack if the opportunity arises. Can also provide some Anti-Air.
5. Bard built for buffing and archery. Makes the party more effective, and helps to put the hurt on enemies that won't close to melee, including flyers.

Elven Magus who is there on his journey to become a fabled magi knight of Kyonin. Wants to prove his worth by protecting a community and fighting it's enemies. In this case, giants. Noble but naive.
Human Viking, who is hunting a giant that killed her family and enslaved her for years. Very serious about the whole giant-killing business, but not much about anything else. A walking armory.
Bard, who just wants to live life peacefully. Does not want to fight anybody, but sees it as her responsibility. Or at least, his responsibility is to buff them with magic music. Dreams of better days but contributes very little for it. Guitar "hero".

Let me see.....
A dwarven "Trollslayer"..... (probably a mix of barbarian, ranger & rogue).
Dwarven Stonelord paladin....
Dwarven Forgemaster cleric....
Dwarven fighter, going Stalwart Defender with feats such as step up, stand still, endurance, diehard etc....
A crossbow toting dwarven fighter/ranger/ranged support guy....
And perhaps a few sneaky gnomes to act as scouts & wizardy types.
Possibly a gnomish gunslinger.
That ought to make a good party for this adventure path :). Go team short party! It's giants and orcs and starting in Belkzen. It's time we stout sons of earth and stone stood up to retake what was our own :).

At this time three are settled in stone (so bound to change by the time we finish Wrath):
Dual Kukri wielding warpriest of Desna
Scythe wielding Inquisitor
Dwarven Hunter
The other two are unsettled (also unsettling if you ever meet them) but we are certainly looking at having no cleric for the first time in a while. Of course they may just be messing with me.
