Someone has probably alread mentioned something along these lines (ala Age of Worms/Rod of Seven Parts), but I have not read the entire thread...
I vote for an AP where the ultimate bad guy is actually an intelligent, artifact-level item. It could be a world tour sort of thing where each module is the item using someone to retrieve a part of itself and move toward complete re-assembly. Giving the item a specific purpose beyond re-assembly would be good... tying it to the chaotic/neutral deity Groetus somehow would be even better.
I'm not sure how to link each module, because the item should *not* be something obvious... not something that fits an "item slot"... and it should change for each owner. Each module, could in fact, be entirely different. In the first the item might grant combat prowess for a dungeon based romp, for the second it could grant skills for an intrigue adventure, etc. It could make heavy use of the Pathfinder organization as a linking mechanism I guess, whereby the party has to visit far flung lodges to gather information/combat the enemy at each step. It might even involve significant downtime (or even side adventures) between modules (perhaps years worth) before the item resurfaces, though I am not sure how that could be managed. If I could steal the jumbo AP idea (12 modules), then I'd intertwine 6 "item" adventures with 6 other sandboxy ones to make the entire thing play out over decades.
The key is that the true mover should not be revealed until the end of part 5. Then the last module is about preventing complete assembly and potentially destroying the artifact. And yet, there has to be some sort of link to keep the adventurers involved. A mysterious symbol at each step (a tatto on one boss, a rune on a spellbook in the next, etc). And not something so obvious as a religious symbol. Think radical, global conspiracy theory type stuff. Bonus points for having an "ending" whereby the item is destroyed, but the "consciousness" lives on somehow and months/years later said adventurers find another occurence of said symbol in some completely innocuous circumstance. Perhaps a great grand child visiting a dying adventurer in his deathbed carries a toy with a strangely familiar marking... :)

Re: Galt
Agreed, my mistake for mixing the two up, Daemons are far more fitting~ :) But it is entirely possible that some daemons slipped through the Worldwound -prior to the Wardstones- and setup shop in Galt. The Revolution started in 4640 when House Thrune stepped up, The Worldwound occurred in 4606. 54 years is a short time for daemons but it would make sense as to why Galt would throw off Chelexian control as Daemons and Devils don't get along. It easily could have been spurred further and further into chaos by a small group of Daemon Spawn who are reaping the benefits of so much carnage. While quietly and brutally making sure it continues.
The creation of the Gardeners and the Final Blades would need some finagling but I could see it being fairly interesting. Using the Final Baldes to gather souls and store them to increase their power on the Material plain. Despite the fact fighting daemons has been done in WotR, this would at least put a spin on why Galt remains so bloody and conflicted~

Okay...first post on this forum and first post to any message board in over a year :D....
Just got back into role-playing after a hiatus...
I would love to see the following Adventure Paths.
1. A Cthulu based one with crazy Npc's, ugly madness causing aberrations, sick twisted cultists, and maybe one of the Old Gods thrown in for good measure... With high level baddies & an Old God you could start at 10th level or higher and go up to the epic tier with a pantheon destroying scenario involving the gods of Golarion or world ending scenario option as well.
2. One that is based on another continent where there are dinosaurs, cannibals and low-tech.
3. One set in the Underdark, but instead of Drow and Mind-flayers running around its an Old necropolis filled with undead and the players have to get help from the other denizens that roam the caverns.
4. An aerial-based one involving dragons, djinis, air elementals, cloud giants and such.
The Shaman |
A Taldan intrigue-based campaign would be nice, although Galt and Brevoy proper also have potential, and Vudra and southern Tian Xia can be worthwhile too. A visit to either Qadira or Nidal could also be memorable...
However, my second choice after Taldor would be the Land Of the Linnorn Kings. After all the hints Sven Blood-Eagle might not have long until Valhalla, let's do some proper Viking war, trade and politicking - and then kill us a linnorn!

Gotta revive my request for a Dream centered AP.
Specifically, I think entering other people's dreams as adventure sites is neat, like in the Playstation game Alundra.
Someone mentioned Dreamtime as a Sarusan thing. I would certainly accept this there.
Psychonauts!
Would make a great tie in to Occult Adventures.

I'd like to see APs in the following regions (mainly due to the cultures found within them):
- Vudra (in a localized area)
- Land of the Linnorm Kings (staying within that region, dealing with internal factors and nothing external)
- Alkenstar
Also:
- Distant Worlds, but only if it involves ships (so I can use it for Spelljamming); no simple 'gate-hopping' to various planets (boring)

I'm sure i am the only one that is thinking this, but what about Darkmoon Vale? Sure it has its own "series" from the old Gamemastery Modules, but perhaps a return to the vale would be something that could work.
You have it be based off the return of Daralathyxl, who demands his tribute from those in the Vale, but when the people wish to defy the dragon, he begins a long winded quest to conquer the Vale and enslave or destroy those in his way. You could have the players either take the role of unifiying the Vale's inhabitants in a desperate attempt to slay the dragon once and for all, or the role of diplomacy, where the party defends the inhabitants of the vale while searching for an item of enough power to placate Daralathyxl.
Or it could be based off the fact that Thuldrin Kreed has taken complete control over Falcon's Hollow as mayor, and as a side effect has increased production of lumber twofold, causing tension between Syntria and the town nearly to the point of war. The players are charged by one of the leaders of Andoran to stop the war, and if possible dethrone Kreed from his seat of power. But Kreed has powerful allies in the shadows, and a sinister plot that even Kreed knows nothing about is set Into motion that threatens Andoran itself that if not stopped, will mean the end of thousands of lives.

I'd love to see an Abaslom-focused, political, intrigue-rich game. Indeed, it'd be cool if by the second book (or even, somehow, from the beginning, although this is harder with resource-strapped first-level PCs) the characters all had nascent businesses and organizations using the Ultimate Campaign downtime rules. Well done, that could be very cool. I'm often tempted to run a homebrew campaign along these lines, except that I don't really have the time and creative energy to put it all together.

I'd love that. Maybe combine Dreamtime, the Dreamlands, Slumberland, Magicant, and other dream worlds together for awesome adventuring.

Distant worlds- planet hopping through portals, space travel, or both. As long as one of the AP volumes is on Castrovel I will be happy. Final boss should be a cosmic being or aberrant alien creature.
Land of the Linnorm Kings- final boss is a (possibly unique) linnorm, in fact make the villain a human or dwarf who transforms into the linnorm boss.
Vudra- some psychic magic goodness combined with Hindu flavored myth. final boss should be a Azura, Rakshasa, or psychic being/creature.
Tian Xia- the whole AP taking place in Tian Xia from beginning to end. The final boss being a unique oni, imperial dragon, insane Kami...or maybe a Kaiju.
Arcadia- Sandbox style adventure focusing on exploration and learning about this land. final boss based on wich side you are on, your country or the inhabitants of the new world.
First World- AP focused on fey, the first world, and gnomes. Final boss would be a unique fey.
Gurand- sandbox treasure hunting AP focusing on African myth, catfolk, amazon woman, lizardfolk, etc.

I would love to see a Red Mantis AP. Though more of you are play Rad Mantis assassins.
Yeah I know Pazio won't as that would be a evil AP....but still I can dream.
In the past, Achaekek has been referred to as 'the assassin of the gods,' and it was heavily implied that his job (and that of his followers) was to kill peeps what the other gods wanted dead.
A splinter group of Red Mantis Assassins who specifically targeted those who seemed to be going against the will of the gods (leadership in Rahadoum, Touvette, Razmiran, perhaps Hermea) could be an interesting 'less evil' sort of take on the group. They might also be opposed to Geryon (Archduke of Heresy) or others who distort or corrupt faiths, or who, arguably 'aren't real gods' like Demon Lords (other than Lamashtu), Daemon Horsemen, etc. By their own tenets (not going after sitting kings), they probably wouldn't attempt to take out Razmir himself, but there might not be anything in the fine print about taking out every single one of his 'priests' and utterly dismantling his powerbase and leaving him ripe for being overthrown by his own oppressed people...
It's super-easy (and the plot of pretty much every cyberpunk story, ever, as well as various movies, books, etc. such as The Dirty Dozen) to gather together a group of bad people and use them to get rid of even *worse* people.

Dear Paizo, for a future adventure path I would like to see one with lots of dwarfs in it doing dwarfy stuff with a dwarf themed storyline. There could be lots of fun, fallen holds to reclaim, rushing out to drag back some stubborn old codger who's intent on returning to Belkzen to reclaim some long lost family heirloom.
The dwarfs are horribly under represented in Golarion and it's about time we had some more dwarf themed content. Oh yes, dwarfs. A dwarf themed adventure path would be very nice.

As long as we're after this, why not build upon it? Thuldrin Kreed is also spending a large part of his now immense wealth to fund savvy political operatives to achieve World Domination Through Political Action. He is secretly bankrolling both a massive election fraud conspiracy within Andoran, with his current candidate for Prime Minister being a Vampire Mimic who has levels in Bard (Demagogue Archetype) and is filthy rich himself and can morph to suit any political position as required at the moment, and has his own plans for World Domination Through Political Action.
When you are tired of voting for the Lesser of 2 Evils, vote for . . .

Don't see them doing this, really, since Open Design tackled this really well with Halls of the Mountain King.

That's not an adventure 'though. Just gorgeous 3d print & assemble paper terrain. Think I've got a copy knocking about on my hard drive somewhere.

Think you're confusing that with something else. Halls of the Mountain King was an Open Design adventure book for 3E or 4E. It had a supplement too, Iron Gazetteer, that was pretty cool. Gave you a dwarven ranger build that focused on tunnel fighting with a spear.

You know, Kalsgard in the Linnorm Lands would be an excellent place to do a Big Trouble in Little China adventure.

Some APs I’d love to see next:
Title: Dance of the Mantis.
Location: Mediogalti Island & the Red Mantis.
Info: The next "social AP' with some new stealth rules.
Title: Pride of the Silverbacks.
Location: Mwangi Expanse, Usaro, and the Gorilla King.
Info: The Gorilla King!
Title: Rock, Anvil, Hammer.
Location: Five Kings Mountains.
Info: A mega dungeon with Dwarves, Drow, and dark things!
Title: Shield Wall.
Location: Lastwall, Ustalav, Belkzen.
Info: Kingdom building after the main characters inherit a small fort along the Lastwall/Belkzen border but must clear before taking possession of it (I know, this is too close to Giant Slayer).

A Pathfinder version of Spelljammer would be kind of interesting as long as it isn't Skull & Shackles IN SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAACE!!!!
Hilarious. I'd like an underwater AP. From experience the most fun APs are those that break a bit the monotony of adventuring. The going there, killing that, doing this because we're good guys.
S&Shackles for example is a new environment, much more 3d than other APs and with a clear fluff to it.

Dustin Ashe wrote:Arcadia: destroy a colony/defy colonistsI really like the idea of defying colonists.
I like this idea as well. I would actually do something along the lines of the movie Apocalypto. PCs are part of a small, somewhat secluded village that gets brought into the sphere of a larger, more militant society. It seems very desperate as their home is sacked, but by banding together with some other nearby small villages/tribes, the PCs can fight the aggressor state, while building their own society using the UC downtime rules.
The aggressor state would be driven by its own motivations - plague, famine and religious extremism, as well as a force initially hidden from the PCs. By midgame, the PCs have a federation of like-minded peoples together such that they can go head-to-head with the aggressor state, and in the process solving some of that state's problems: alleviating the famine and overthrowing the extremist (and desperate) ruling class, and bringing some stability to the region and consolidating their empire - until word comes to the PCs that the aggressor nation has itself been crumbling under the might of another empire, this one from far across the sea, with large canoes that bring more and more of its people, as well as the plague that has been affecting the area. Now it is up to the PCs to stop the plague, fight off the Europeans Avistanians, and eventually reach some sort of accommodation with them, whether it be peaceful coexistance, total banishment of the interlopers, or something else...
To paraphrase a certain SNL Weekend Update tour guide, this game would have everything; animal totems, guerilla warfare, weird new forms of government, pyramids, a completely new pantheon(s), "new world" class archtypes including some that work with lightly armored / no armored and moblie fighting styles, animism, volcanoes, eclipses, new weapons, and much, much more...

Thought I would chip in here.
There are basically three things I have seen on here that inspire me.
1. Darklands - I would love to see an adventure path that takes you deep into the darklands. Let's get those Urdhefans and Aboleths in play! There are a lot of awesome creatures that live down there, but it's a big job to plot all that out.
2. Distant Worlds - a plotline that takes you from one world to the next, in a way that isn't tacked on. More than just "you have to get to X exotic locale, which in this case happens to be another planet, to retrieve quest item Y." Perhaps Golarionese characters find themselves on Akiton and have to make there way there. Eventually it could morph into something inspired by spelljammer with outer dragons.
3. Dragons - an adventure path that treats dragons with a bit more respect. So far in what I've seen they seem to be just hired lackeys to the BBEG. Let's have some dragons who are doing things with their own purpose, and a dragon-themed campaign. Make Hermea be significant. WotC doesn't own dragons, last I checked.
