The remote island settlement of Talmandor’s Bounty is thrown into chaos as a strange magical effect plunges the region into shadow. Urged to investigate the event, the PCs travel to a nearby island and discover an ancient Azlanti prison that was buried during Earthfall. Inside, a cult of the blood god Camazotz thrives, and in dealing with them the PCs learn that greater threats lay deeper inside the ancient complex. Can the PCs discover who’s behind the supernatural shadow and stop them before it’s too late?

Thirst for Blood is a Pathfinder Adventure for four 1st-level characters. This adventure begins the Shades of Blood Adventure Path, a three-part monthly campaign in which a group of adventurers explore a ruined ancient prison to stop a vampiric threat to cover the skies in shadow. This volume also includes a look into Camazotz, god of bats, blood, caverns, and nocturnal predators, a gazetteer of the island settlement of Talmandor’s Bounty, new player options, and a selection of dangerous monsters.

Each monthly full-color softcover Pathfinder Adventure Path volume contains an in-depth adventure scenario, stats for several new monsters, and support articles meant to give Game Masters additional material to expand their campaign.

Have the names of the other two volumes in this AP been announced? I know James Jacobs said that he was the author of the middle volume.

Luis Loza asked to make an adventure in Arcadia every single day until Paizo finally said yes so he could get it out of his system and concentrate on getting us a hellknight lost omens book in 2026 :P

So is this a sequel/follow-up to Ruins of Azlant?

Not a sequel or follow up. It just happens to use the town as a base of operations since it is a familiar (to some) touchstone.

So, will we get to see the colony ten years on? I'm excited for all of these upcoming adventure paths. They all sound great.

I’m also pretty excited for all of the upcoming APs. They all seem really solid and are delving into areas that I’m all that I’m interested in betting there’s gonna be a lot of interesting lore in them as well.

Yep! There is a gazetteer of Talmandor's Bounty in this book, written by Jim Groves who fleshed out the settlement for Ruins of Azlant. I'm glad he was available too! I really wanted to give him the first shot at updating the place.

Also, for full disclosure, there's not a lot of focus on Talmandor's Bounty beyond the first volume, but there should be enough in the gazetteer for a GM to spice things up for their players when their characters come back to town to rest.

Glad I did that list of npcs that arrive to Talmandor's Bounty long ago, now I can see which ones get to cameo xD

Now that the final cover of Book 2 of this AP has been revealed, surely the Book 1 cover is also done?

Any chance that this AP have options to play it as vampyres ?

I doubt it; it's a fighting vampires story, not a be vampires story. I only wrote the second adventure and it assumes the PCs aren't vampires and are there to fight them.

However, there is nothing preventing a PC from having the dhampir versatile heritage and the Undead Slayer archetype... Like Blade (old movie from 1998).

Would this adventure path work well as a precursor to Curtain Call without much adjustment?

Yup. Any Adventure Path that ends with the PCs reaching 11th level would.

The cover image is tiny. Since it’s clearly the final cover, can we get a larger version please? I am asking because I run a videogame site and I love to announce new Paizo products. But when you give me a stamp to announce them with, you put me in a difficult position because the stamp makes my site look bad. So I have to choose between making my site look bad or not mentioning the new product for months until we have a decent image.

Hey! If you'd like hi-res assets for press coverage purposes, feel free to shoot an email over to press@paizo.com and we can get those handled for you! It'll also let you join our press list, which will keep you in the loop for announcements!

Cool. Mostly I was thinking from the narrative side, I want to know if there was a lot of Godsrain focused content in here. Which would require some adjustment with Curtain Call.

I'm pretty sure there's no Godsrain stuff in here. One of the goals Adam Daigle had for this one was to keep things simple and straighforward, since the Narrative team's got their hands full on some much more complicated Adventure Paths to either side for quite a bit.

So, is this another megadungeon? It looks like all three books take place in this Azlanti prison.

Is Adam going to be developing adventure paths going forward in addition to John Compton?

Adventure Paths are huge endeavors, perhaps some of the most complicated things we publish, so I'll be hopping into the mix from time to time to help relieve some pressure on the team from having to knock these out back to back.

Cool! I really like seeing different flavors of megadungeon, especially when they're really strongly themed like this one seems to be.

The last megadungeon was Abomination Vaults, right? Or have I missed an episode?

Any word on VTT support for this AP? Would love to run it but my group is too spread out geographically to play in-person any more.

The premium Foundry modules rule. I'm running Prey For Death right now and it is incredibly polished and well-presented.

Considering that every AP since Outlaws of Alkenstar has gotten a premium module, I'd say it's a pretty safe bet that that's not going to stop.

Speaking as someone who started playing RPGs with 1st Ed AD&D, it hits you when you start to realize that things you grew up with happened before some people who are currently adults were even born...

I dont know which I want to play first, this or Claws of Tyrant lol! Assuming they both get FVTT modules.

Very excited!
