We're glad you all are excited about this! Please stay tuned for more updates!
We don't have more details on this at the moment, but I'm curious to see some more theories here!
We don't currently have plans for this, but thanks for letting us know it's wanted! If we do make any changes to those plans, we'll be sure to announce them!

I have been watching this argument for a bit now, and I just came to say, thank you for keeping things more or less civil! Please note that we cannot assume intention when someone puts something in bold as there are a lot of reasons one might do that!
The insults have been reigned in so far, so please be careful of this as things are bordering on conflicting with our guidelines. If you have to agree to disagree, that's ok! Sometimes that's the best way to end things and move on. But, please do so without assuming intention and thus exchanging insults. Thank you all!

cozyflyer wrote: Thanks for the upgrade! Question, does the Special Edition PDF release on May 7th with the standard edition PDF? If not, will we have to wait to get the PDF until the Special Edition version is released? Subscribers get their PDF when their subscription item ships. Both books are releasing at the same time, so subscribers to both lines should be getting their PDFs at the same time. Please let us know though if you have any issues when we do get to release day! We'll do our best to help!
Mangaholic13 wrote: So... Here's two ideas I just had:
Fungus Dragons
Originating from the Plane of Wood, they can be rather unintentionally destructive outside their native plane, as not all the fungi that spread in their presences are harmless. Fungus Dragons, generally, do not mean to cause harm, it is simply a fact that their biology makes them immune to poisonous, toxic, or parasitic fungi and/or mold.
Quicksilver Dragons
...Who here has heard of Dingo Doodles?
Fungus dragons made my skin crawl, which means it's a wonderful idea.

Ajaxius wrote: Thanks for trying to put my mind at ease. At the risk of putting more egg on my face, I'll say I'm still a bit concerned because of the missing legs of the figure in the back, the lopsided eyes, and some other details, plus the fact that Dall-E started doing limited-invite beta testing back in 2019, 2 years before the book came out.
But it's gone from a red flag to maybe like... light-faded orange. Instead of, "Paizo used AI art" to "maaaaaybe a small chance one of their commissioned artists did and got it past them years before the ethical debate became popular."
We as a company do not use AI in any form, and neither do our artists or writers!

A friend of mine is graduating soon and is looking forward to working with the TTRPG industry. He has completed a couple commissions in the past for other companies. We urge your friend to submit their porfolio for PaizoCon! It's the best way to get their work looked at by our team! Singups are coming soon, so please tell them to keep an eye on it!

I'll post here when I have updates!

I was actually gonna suggest it, but when I cross-checked to see if it was viable, it had the stipulation that the new ancestry had to be humanoid. Of course, a GM can override, but letting it turn you into a dragon is simply not within the scope of the original item without this override. Ah, yeah that's it; thanks. And well dang. Back to the brewing board then. Please share what you come up with in the Homebrew section!

Shdwwrym wrote: It feels weird that these now generate watermarks. I can understand watermarks being used for PDF copies of core books for PFS or the like, but these documents already mention being legally reprintable on them, and they used to be available as a watermark-less, clean version. I was hoping to redo some old character sheets to have a few less pencil smudges, and having my email address shown on them feels odd. This is just for personalization of each download! We're sorry it feels weird for you though!

Dilvias wrote: At level 4, if a party doesn’t have a bard, someone who casts bless every combat and no fighters, then a 30% hit rate is believable. If they are slightly unoptimized (say with only a +3 in their attack stat) it’s likely. Oh, crap. I missed that in all this somehow, and you're absolutely right. At the level they are, them's might just be the breaks for a bit if they're unoptimized. Maybe they can fix this over time, though, with the changes they make as they level!

CorvusMask wrote: Question: signing up to gm probably doesn't count as ticket holding right?
Two, should I have portfolio ready and nicely polished by time signups for portfolio reviews are up?
Hey, CorvusMask! Sorry it took me a minute to reply to this! For your first question, yes, if you sign up to GM and do actually end up with two confirmed volunteer spots, this counts as ticket holding. GMs have to run at least 2 blocks for us to get a badge.
For your second question, yes please! Our art directors will be looking at the portfolios before the reviews, so assume that they will be looked at any time between sign up and review day!

Jeff Wilder wrote: I noticed the "Second Edition banner" on the cover. As someone who is (finally) running a 2E Remaster game, I'm a little confused about the use of "Second Edition" versus "Remaster." Can someone summarize what each means, in the context of books published SINCE the Remaster? Feros and Perses13 were pretty much correct here! Remastered books are books that were written for Second Edition that previously contained OGL materials but have been "remastered" to remove those materials and are printed under the ORC license. All of our releases since Fall of 2023 already do not have any OGL material and are printed under the ORC license, so rather than double state they are both Second Edition and qualify as already Remastered material, they just say "Second Edition" since there was no previous iteration of them in existence to need to differentiate from.
I hope this helps clear this up!

Zoken44 wrote: Also, yes, the devs do sometimes read the forums and often do respond. There is no magic wand to summon them. They have deadlines and timelines they have to stick to so feedback cannot be open forever. Your best bet to be heard will be as part of the feedback for the upcoming Tech Core Playtest. To expand upon this so it's clear for everyone, the devs mostly read the forums to detect anything that could apply for possible errata. As you said, their schedules prevent them from responding very regularly, but that's where I come in! If there's ever a pressing question that isn't about the rules (since rules questions end up either being added to the errata or just being intentional), I bring them to the team and bring answers back to you here. In general, the best way to ask a dev a question and get an answer from the directly and quickly is joining Q&A's like during our monthly live streams, additional special live streams we offer during the month, or events like PaizoCon Online coming up in May. Apart from that, I'm the official champion of making sure your questions get to them, and I try my best to get them all!

This especially at least feels like a good thing to do in the mean time until the source of the problem is figured out. This is positive by the way. I'm still genuinely curious as to what is causing a consistent hit success rate of only 30%. It's boggling my brain over here.

Not deliberate, and actually a mistake! It's actually called the "Tech Core Playtest." I just forgot the word "Core" by mistake.
Unfortunately, you will have to wait and see, but my smile is regular at worst and seeking understanding at best.

Have they confirmed a second packet with the missing classes/ancestries/etc? I'm glad as I was really looking forward to seeing the changes to the mechanic. In another forum thread, Maya Coleman confirmed that the Technomancer/Mechanic playtest (fromally known as the Tech playtest according to the Playtest site) will begin on April 21, barring unexpected delays I suppose. I can confirm this is correct! The Tech Playtest starts on April 21st, and we will be posting a blog that day as well that will explain the goings-on of that playtest. I will also be posting timeline updates in the Starfinder Second Edition Playtest General Discussion space to aid those who do not frequent our social media for those updates or receive our email newsletter!

Abadar's First Vault houses a perfect copy of everything that's ever existed, sort of like this guy's electronic VR machines can do!
Anyway, I gotta get back to staring out the window wistfully.
I would just like to confirm that it is indeed a good pun. I hope the party likes it too. ^_^

Thebigham #1 wrote: This comes up often, may I suggest that you put up pre launch pages for Foundry modules? With an expected date on them. Maybe even utilize the new Foundry Marketplace?
I understand you might not want to advertise without knowing the exact date but I think for the most part the teams have got this figured out. It will help the community know product is coming without assuming, and even allow them to get "HYPE" for it. You have to create this page anyway, why not a couple weeks early?
I'll let the team know that this is something wanted!
