So many options!
We were teased with the possibility of the five primal dragons getting two other members in their family. A metallic dragon, with a radiation breath weapon, as well as a wood dragon, with a breath weapon that can make plants grow. Those would surely be awesome, I suppose.

Fungal Dragons scratch my itch too. Though Roll for Combat at least already has one of those, so that's nice.

Very good preview from nonat. Covers a ton of basics of the class we didn't know while keeping a ton of surprises for those who don't want to be too spoiled (there are some spoilers but not a huge amount aside from basic class mechanics). It was also a mostly professional video for those who were worried about that.

He made me a bit stoked for the class...

Long ago I decided to reserve judgement on the handling of adding two new elemental planes to the cosmology. So far the Elemental Plane of Metal has completely knocked it out of the park as far as "That is such a cool location I want to go there immediately to have epic fights against a lightning-streaked sky in a realm where everything is literally jagged metal and rust, where schools of snakes ride the magnetic currents through the air and drink your grief"
Admittedly, metal was never really the hard sell for me. I'm not overly attached to exactly 4 elements and metal being its own thing is fine with me. Meanwhile I actually love what I've seen so far of how/why Metal hasn't been known to (at least the Avistani side of) Golarion until now, with Earth's petty claim to ownership.
I eagerly await a preview of Wood to see if it will really capture me. I protest against 'plants' being an element on principle (why no bone plane if wood is an element?) but so far I find myself completely enamoured with this look at what makes the elemental shell tick in the cosmos. As much as I love elements, when I'm thinking about worldbuilding (or I guess multiverse building) I sometimes wonder why do the elemental planes need to exist? IF the first forms of life were Spirit and if quintessence can easily mimic any form, what was the comsic reasons for this thing called 'Matter' that still needs a hit of Spirit to make living creatures.
So much excitement!

I just finished watching NoNat1's video on the kineticist and to say that I am excited is quite the understatement. What tickles my nose though is how he mentions that the pdfs would be available on the 17th of July despite the page here showing that the pdfs will be available on the 3rd of August. Is that simply a mistake on his part, or is the page here not up to date yet?
Regardless, I cannot wait to get my grubby little hands on this book, even though by all accounts I will have to.

It's 17th for the subscribers. It's 3rd of August for the rest of the world.
To be precise, it’s the 17th when orders will start being dispatched. The estimated time to completion is 28th July but GenCon often causes a slippage owing to the volume of orders and the team being distracted by preparing for the upcoming convention.

Do we know if there will be an option to pick this up at gencon for subscribers? I believe that has been done before for gencon releases.
Not this year, unfortunately.

Nonat did say he's trying to make a class guide for when the embargo lifts on the 17th I believe? It will have every kineticist class feature, feat, and impulse. So if he gets that done (and if he's allowed) we'll get all the info next monday
The exclusive previews end on the 17th, when our valued subscribers start getting their PDFs. I think Nonat needs time to move, to read the book, and create the video. We've given the PDF to valuable content creators to make open gaming content for you. The elemental gates are opening!

Sadly I am not a subscriber anymore :( And hey, I've never broken the rules in the past! Tho I did the day 1 AMA for some rulebook, don't remember which.

This just refers to posting images or screenshots from the books yes? we can talk about the lore stuff as long as we don't link or share images of the book?

I just wanted to point out to any staff who follow this thread, and can make editing changes, that the word landscapes was misspelled as landcapes.
Also, I just wanted to point out to any staff who follow this thread, and might be able to propose magic items for future releases, that a landcape sounds like an awesome idea for a magic item. Whip it off, throw it down, and get yourself some instant terrain.

Maybe also a preview of the other elemental character options, like the elemental allies, the archetypes, and the new elemental instinct Barbarian.
Essentially we gave that to NoNat and I think he has created all the preview content he can due to life challenges. But you are correct, there is more coolness ahead. Subscribers will start picking up the ball on the 17th and we have a preview blog or 2 coming.

All of the previews I’ve seen so far I’ve got me extremely hyped for this book. Even down to the art style, this has an extremely Planescape vibe to it. No surprise knowing Jess is one of the lead writers, but it’s something I appreciate (and I do hope that Pathfinder is about to preemptively out Planescape the 5e Planescape book that’s coming soon).
Definitely picking up a hardcover of this one.

You've got it. There comes a point were I know what is good for marketing and the growth of the game and I keep my mouth shut. Please DO talk about the game and the lore. Share your passion and curiosity. Just don't significantly give away what we use to pay for food and shelter, please. :)

I think this comes across in the previews, but in my mind, Rage of Elements has more in common with one of Planescape's plane-focused boxed sets like Planes of Law than it does with the actual Planescape Inner Planes book we got. It's not hard to picture each of the element's chapters as its own little booklet, and they all stand alone in that way imo. I think it's really incredible and am so happy and grateful I got to participate in creating it.
A book like this, focusing on the elements, elementals, and the elemental planes, was absolutely one of my top dream projects. So often, elementals and the elemental planes get kinda overshadowed by the outer planes and their outsider groups, so the elementals are often just not given the space on the page to really exist and be cool. Rage of Elements gives them that space, and I hope when you see the book you'll agree how awesome the final result is.

Just out of curiosity- is Tempest oracle getting spell support in this book?

I have a question,
I just received my Rage of elements pdf and I went to peak at the kineticist before work. The first ability listed is Attribute Boosts, this gives "In addition to what you get from your class at 1st level, you have four free boosts to different attribute modifiers".
I understand this is language relating to the ORC documents but until we see the character creation guidelines in the new Core Rulebook I feel a little lost. Do these replace the 4 free boosts character creation had, moving them to the class entry, or is kineticist the only class that gets this therefore having +4 modifiers over everyone else.
If there is more info on the ORC license version that I'm not aware of please point me in the right direction.
Thank you very much.

I think so, or else it's just redundant language from Player Core 1 reminding people how Attributes work.
or is kineticist the only class that gets this therefore having +4 modifiers over everyone else.
I doubt it.

If this is the case it alters the Attribute modifiers making it impossible to get a +4 at first level.
Let's say we are making a human you get 2 boost from ancestry, 2 from your background l, and then 5 from your class. We can't put more than 1 boost in an Attribute at each step so now the highest we can get is a +3. The entry says in addition meaning these 4 happen at the same time as your primary Attribute bonus.

Whoa. Just downloaded the PDF.
23 MB??
That's so tiny?? At least 10mb less than any other rulebook.
Is it because there's more text/less pics or did it get overcompressed (even more than usual, since I find the rulebooks already a bit overcompressed, the images are always so pixelated on even a minor zoom. The artists worked so hard, I wish I could see that work!)
