So we have Strength of Thousands for a Magaambyan campaign. My friend is running a campaign working for Vidrian’s intelligence service against slavers and colonial holdouts. I can also see easy pitches for a fiend-hunting campaign (Alijae, Matanji, Grippli, Bekyar all have ties to fiend stuff, and Usaro needs to be destroyed) or a Bright Lions rebellion story.
Any obvious concepts I’m missing?

On sidenote, is Altar of Angazhan new name for Totem of Angazhan?
And yeah there are other obvious plot hooks, but they are more specific related to specific locations rather than "general to all of Mwangi". Like political intrigue at Saventh-Yhi with serpentfolk infiltrator, several research expeditions and self serving treasure hunters along with inhabitants of city forming massive powder keg and shenanigans up in Ruins of Kho.

Okay 10/10 when books were going through Mbe'ke and Taralu dwarves, I was wondering if Empyreal Lord Smiad the dragonslayer was going to get mentioned xD And wow they actually did refer to that super obscure empyreal lord in latter article by Order of the Frostbit Greave

I’m being pandered to and I love it, even if my preferred aberrations plot would be up in the Golden Road (the aboleth stuff from LO: Legends + all the cosmic horror stuff in Osirion). Give me playable Serpentfolk!

"Another enemy, although one with good intentions, is the Order of the Frostbit Greave, a roving band of knights that devote themselves to the empyreal lord Smiad, the Pitiless Dragonslayer. While most followers of Smiad believe in assisting the works of good dragons, this order sees Taralu reverence for the anarchic and unpredictable cloud dragons as an affront to their god, and the groups have clashed on several occasions."
There are three great things about this paragraph
1) image (in my head) of knights in full plate high in cold mountains shivering badly
2) great surprise that somebody remembers Smiad xD
3) I like to imagine this being sitcom archnemesis rivalry.

Other extremely old obscure lore that got referenced: The named adhukait asura with his own vault that apparently has head of empyreal lord Shei Five Dawns there
x'D Wow I could have sworn that one would be non canon just because of "well that has to be absurdly powerful adhukait"
The fun part though is that they actually addressed that: "However, these rumors conflict with the fact that an empyreal lord named Shei still lives on the plane of Nirvana."

These are great reviews!
Those who wrote them might also consider giving those same reviews on Amazon. As is, Amazon has one review for this book, and it’s one star…
Considering the amazon one star review is two sentence review where first sentence is, and this is direct quote, "Anti-white racist claptrap." I think amazon users should instead use the "report abuse" button :p

I'm really loving this book. A question I do have is why the spine was changed from the previous book. All the other Lost Omen books have the same spine with a solid color like the preview picture. But for this case the cover art is rapped around the spine. Just seems kind of odd with the rest of my collection.

Why questions are hard to answer. Because Sarah Robinson wanted to? I suspect we might see City of Absalom have a wrap around image so that all the 10 regions have a consistent pattern. Don't know yet.

Is this first official confirmation that Black Heron was the magic warrior that turned against the rest?
I mean I had always suspect it ever since of reading about Ring of Nine Facets and its origin story of being created by nine of ten magic warriors pouring their energy into it while tenth (represented by black facet) didn't, but nice to have the confirmation :D

That would work. Right now it just looks kind of off on my shelf. All the rule books look the same. The rest of the Lost Omens look the same. This one is just looks off. But if all the region books look like this, that would make it look consistant.

Welp I've finished my look through of the book and gonna review it tomorrow :D But here is one amusing error I noticed on map of Vidrian
What I assume meant to be "Scorched Fields" are marked on map as "Stasis Fields" :D
I see both the Scorched Fields and the Stasis Fields on that map... Stasis Fields are definitely a thing.

Yep. They are definitely different things.
Stasis Fields: page 151
Scorched Fields: page 285

Do you want the characters to be from the Magaambya, or do you want to set it geographically in the Mwangi Expanse with the Magaambya as a home base? A group of Magaambya students sent to Avistan to help fight the Whispering Tyrant is a concept that has already been suggested in canon.

This book makes me want Lost Omens: The Golden Road /terribly/. I think the careful revisions and vibrant cultural touchstones that went into this book can go to that region soon, to try and wash away iffier older content and breathe new life into some stale tropes.
I do think Impossible Lands is next on the docket, though. Anyone wanna place bets on what we see announced at Gen Con?

I'm glad people like the Taralu. And the fact that people are happy with the fact I remembered Smiad makes me all the happier with my inclusion of esoteric lore. <3
Heck yeah I'm happy with it x'D I love pathfinder lore and I love it when old and obscure pieces of lore are brought back <3

Sidenote, how long it takes for amazon review to show up?
I'm starting to wonder if that one review was made multiple days in advance or something.
Which isn't impossible but I'm just confused, don't you need to buy book from amazon to be able to make amazon review? So did someone buy the book just to make the review? ._.

Says it was posted July 5. When I submitted my review, it said to allow up to a couple days for it to show. Didn't say anything about requiring a purchase (and you can see the existing review is not marked "verified purchase").
As if we didn't need more information showing that said reviewer neither has nor has read this book.

Weird, I'm not allowed to review the product. I dunno, maybe I haven't done enough purchases at amazon or something, this account has existed since 2020 at least.
When I tried to review it there, it was locked to verified purchasers. So if you got it here, you wouldn't be able to post a review.

I really like this book. Colorful and lots of information and options. I like how big it is too! Will this be the format for other area specific books that will be coming out?
Given that the Absalom book is over 400 pages, I would assume that yes, the Meta-Region books are beefy.

Yeah, that's been a recent development because, I think, yesterday a bunch of us tried to go and leave fair reviews and got it locked. Which is frustrating. We'll see if those of us who legitimately reviewed it yesterday before the lockdown happened will get ours to show?

Still reading through it. Will post a review there once I've finished.
EDIT: Just saw that, that might not be possible (I ordered through Paizo). Guess I'll just have to review it on Paizo.

I appreciate your efforts. Eventually, people who purchase Pathfinder Lost Omens: The Mwangi Expanse through Amazon will be able to review the product as a verified purchase. If the negative review poster actually read the book, I am skeptical, they either got access as a subscriber or a pirate site. I can't image that is one of my authorized reviewers with early access.
I rolled my eyes at the post, but I'm in a place of privilege to do so. A badge of honor for me is a tender spot for others. But I imagine that if Paizo came out with a Lost Omens book about the LGBTQ community in Golarion it would not be so easy for me to shrug off. I've actually got thin skin, I've just learned how to heal a little faster over the, ahem, decades.
I'm confident that, in the long term, perspective buyers will see plenty of positive testimonials.
