Really looking forward to this one, more world lore is always immediate buy.

I’m also looking forward to the ancestries that are coming with it.

I always love when I can branch out from traditional western fantasy and begin to explore and play with the diversity of fantasy from across the globe.

Awesome! I hope for other region lost omens books as well, but Mwangi is probably top of the list.

Hopefully this book comes out BEFORE Strength of Thousands. The delay of the Absalom book was (and at the time of writing this, still is) woeful relative to the releases of Agents of Edgewatch, and both of these books seem like EXCELLENT resources for dedicated GMs and players to get to know the regions they're about to run an adventure in.

This book is nt mostly being handled by one very busy man who's also head of publishing and writing an adventure - so it's unlikely it'll get deleted.

I am really excited for this. I have a Mwagangi elven wizard in PFS 2E. She is a Cascade Bearer. I hope that this will have options for them.

So I would manage my expectations and not expect a lot of “rule” options.

I hope this is true. I have wanted more Mwangi content for years now, and as I still play 1E, I would prefer to have more lore than rules content that might not be easily usable for me.

Well, the book is in excess of 300 pages, right? Six ancestries and some archetype feats could easily fit in less than 10% of that. Which would still mean the book is almost entirely lore.

an ancestry is typically 4 pages, so 6 would be 24 pages. Another 6 pages devoted to archetype feats, items, etc would be more than enough to give us a bunch of interesting content, leaving 270 pages of pure lore.

Such a bright colorful cover, I love it.

Yes! Finally! Heart of the Jungle is absolutely fantastic, but Mwangi deserves its own hardcover book! I'm so excited for this! :D

As one of the authors on the original Heart of the Jungle I'm super excited to see what the folks working on this new book do to expand and develop hooks in the first book and brand new stuff that they add! :D

Anadi are coming as a full playable ancestry with this book...

yup the 6 confirmed ancestries are:

On complete sidenote, realized this book is our best chance to learn what is up with Saventh-Yhi in 2e :O I'm curious at what is canon fate of the lost city in 2e

For those wanting info about this book, some new morsels of information were shared with us over at Paizo Live today at the OfficialPaizo Twitch channel.

Today, senior editor at Paizo Lu Pellazar was nice enough to share some information about one of the mysterious new ancestries in the book, the Shisk. To remind anyone, they were the ones described as "bone-feathered" in the Lost Omens World Guide.

Lu described them as living in the mountains, secluded, and the Shisk are described as very verbal and musical as a society. They're very fascinated with exchanging information verbally, obsessed even. And they might not wish to share the information they tend to gather. Or maybe they will share it if you get on their good side!

And they're apparently adorable! Hopefully we'll learn more about the Shisk, as well as the Goloma and the Conrasu in next month's Paizo Live stream. Fingers crossed!

We also learned that the book will include a foreword or introduction of a sort on how to respectfully play and adventure in the region, which I'm very glad about.

I want to see what the new races look like so bad. Paizo has been killing it with most of their art lately.

I'm hoping for a Mwangi expansion of any ophidian ancestry. In particular I'm hoping for nagaji, but for that, we'd need any mention of nagaji elsewhere.

Nagaji are from Tian-Xia, so we would need a book there.

EDIT: The new information of Shisk make me believe more than ever that they are a parrot expy.

I wonder if this will have new ancestry feats for existing ancestries or if it will be exclusively the 6 new ones

I'd be expecting at least some content for Mwangi versions of the core ancestries (plus others of prominence like the orcs and lizardfolk), but a lot of that is already covered by the Character and Ancestry Guides, so who knows.

Man somehow my mind blanked on this book also detailing Vidrian and the Sodden Lands and I have no clue why it did that.

As an additional note, one need not grow additional tails if you don't want. It is an option for those that want it. So, say you have a Kitsune Rogue and you don't want the number of Ancestry Feats affecting the number of tails that they possess, you don't have to.

While I like this option, it does leave a bit to be desired for me. Leaves out the possible design space of tying Feats of other features to the number of tails a Kitsune has. I suppose they could just go the route of tying them to the number of Ancestry Feats of Spell Level, as the tails themselves do. That is the only way I see it being possible.

Personally, I'd enjoy a mechanic that makes the number of tails a Kitsune has effect something, be it a Feat or otherwise. Something like "Each of your tails possess a magic all their own. For every tail/ancestry feat/spell level you can cast, you gain the ability to cast a specific spell once per day. This spell is cast at your max spell level." That's just one example. Another option could be a Ancestry Feat that gives you trained proficiency in up to nine skills, for those who are less magically inclined, for each tail/Ancestry Feat you have (not including the Feat that does this).

Could we please not talk about the Kitsune tail thing in the Mwangi Expanse page? Checking the page for new info only to find discussions that should be on the Ancestry Guide product page is really frustrating, to be quite honest.

Fair enough. I don't think we will be getting much more information on anything from this book until maybe April, where I feel they'll start discussing and teasing it more. I think most of March will likely be focused to Bestiary 3.

That said, I'm glad they talked about the Shisk in Paizo Live. Really interested to see if my theory on them and the Goloma pans out.
