Scanning the paper in her hand, MINOTAR begins extrapolating their location and time with as many factors as he can see and hear, tuning into local TV and Radio broadcasts. Once he started to realize what was going on, MINOTAR decided to use the new word Straightjacket taught him.

"Statement and Expletive: Earth. We are in the Southern United States. Dallas Texas...somewhere in the past. There are no cell towers or major satellites, so our communication will be limited. Approximately late November...1963. Oh that's just 'Craptastic.' You brought us here. NOW."

He immediately starts to visually scan for local police, or interested locals, while trying to stay as hidden as possible.

"Question and Warnings: Can you disguise my visual form as well with your powers? Otherwise, a seven and a half foot combat robot might just start a panic. AND summon the army to our nearest vicinity. Not to mention, this IS Texas: Almost 30% of the population here was believed to have had access to multiple types of firearms during this time period."

MINOTAR begins to rattle of the name of the President, the Vice President, and the Joint Chiefs of Staff before he notices everyone's annoyed looks and stops.

Nodding at the new information, MINOTAR begins processing the possibilities. Too many… his processing center ‘brain’ temperature quickly begins to rise too quickly. So he relents and focuses on the here and now.

“Statement and Request: Obviously you seem distressed, and you tell a good story, but can you prove any of this? You are asking a lot of us, and possibilities abound on potential lies dealing with time travel. You may very well be trying to cause what you are asking us to prevent.”

MINOTAR keeps himself from chuckling, seeing a chance at humor.

"Humorous Response: She doesn't appear to be sweating to me...just green."

Without missing a beat, MINOTAR nods and expounds on the idea.

Govrina has been sitting quietly for a while, listening to the talk amongst the friends here. She eventually nods and agrees.

"While in my heart I would love to track that ship down and its entire network, I don't think many of us are sailors or swimmers...or flyers? We have the upper hand here and now, but all they have to do is set sail anywhere and we will never catch them up. Unless Sandpoint has naval assets? Let's get these girls to safety and decide what to do from there. I for one would like to continue to stick around with you...as long as that's OK with all of you."

She smiles and reaches over to scratch Echo's whiskered chin with her pointed prehensile tail.

Thank you all. Technically I feel fine right now. No chest pains or anything. I had some shortness of breath about a year ago, but that went away when I changed my diet (Less nitrates...or is it nitrites? Whatever is in cheap processed meat a lot).

Had some weird pressure on my left side (like someone was sticking his hand under my ribs). No pain really.

But my doctor wanted to do some tests, then some tests were off, and they lead to more tests...until bam! I evidently have 5 arteries clogged on the left side of my heart (2 of which are at 90%!).

So now we rush to do bypass surgery. I'm not looking forward to it...but I have to do it for my 9 year old son. He lives with me (his mother moved to Boston) and I need to make sure I can stick around for the long haul as much as possible.

Well...here it goes:

I have been diagnosed with a bad ticker. And they are in a hurry to get it fixed: Next Tuesday I will be getting open heart surgery and a Heart Bypass at my local VA. That means I will be in the hospital for at least a week of recovery and home resting after that for weeks. I will attempt to keep up with my games, at least by phone for now, but I cannot guarantee anything after next Monday yet. That's assuming I survive. They gave me a pretty low percentage of something going wrong, but with any surgery you never know...

I am still available between now and next Monday however. If you need anything from me for this game until then, just let me know.

Either way, please feel free to bot my character as needed after next Monday, and I hope to get back to all my PbP games (by phone at least) as soon as I can. Hopefully by...Christmas? We'll see I guess.

Im good with slow pacing, so Im not complaining. This time of year (Oct -Dec) is usually hard on everyone for various reasons. GMs are usually already multi-tasking normally in their lives and Ive learned to accept they often get overwhelmed by real life more often than not during the Holidays.

Govrina stares at the man intently, and sits up straight. She weighs the pros and cons of the situation, and pulls her hood back to reveal her full heritage. Her red eyes flash with insight as she steeples her fingers together after her thoughts align themselves. She is an open book, as her face smiles with absolutely no impression that she is happy.

"I have three words for you: GO...TO...HELL. If you, or your partner, cared one iota about the missing girls, you would already have told the sheriff about all of this. You simply want to save your skins, and while you had a laudable goal of 'being honest' with me in the minor hope of convincing me to help you, all you have done is made me realize I should just destroy you and your businesses by testifying against you...and then Sandpoint will thank me for stopping those who are aiding and abetting kidnapping! Keeping that information to yourself now, just tells me you and your co-conspirators are NOT to be trusted. And you're idiots. If you had gone to the Sheriff FIRST, I MIGHT have relented and offered you what you wanted. Feel free to go out and about...live your life however you want. But now? You are nothing more than a criminal and a kidnapper's accomplice to me and ANYONE willing to listen to me. I doubt you will have many customers after all is said and done now."

The tip of her tail snakes its way onto the table, and points at the coin she placed there. Her eyes glow red as blue-white mists coalesce around the coin and it slowly flies up a few feet into the air then slams itself into the table, embedding itself in the wood.

"Just leave me and my new friends alone, or you will regret you were ever birthed by your whore of mother."

Gravi spends a few minutes speaking with Kaye, before returning to Gorvina and Wayliant. I'm prepared to head back with you both. Gorvina, We'll make certain one of us is either immediately next door or across the hall from you should any need arise... he grins and motions with an open hand for the group to return for the evening...

She nods as they prepare to separate for the evening.

”I do appreciate the thought and effort good Sir. But I intend to sleep deeply in a real bed for the first time in a long time, with the door barred, and my dagger handy just in case. Oh…and its Gov-Rina. Accent on the second part. You make my name sound like Im going to start taking people out with my little horns!”

Govrina merely watches as the human is led from the room in irons. Once gone, she sighs.

"I was in that cage for days Sheriff. I can tell you about every scratch and dent, the splinter that kept jabbing my backside, and the rusty spot on the bottom of the 12th bar starting from the left-front corner...but it won't make much difference will it? If it matters, I'm more than willing to speak my truth in front of a priest, if you have one here in...Sandpoint was it? Maybe one of my 'guards' will break under interrogation and corroborate my story?"

She wanders over to the open front door going out, and watches the weather.

"Should I worry about retaliation? That 'man' had ties to the community obviously."

Sadly something that didn't make it into Pathfinder was magic armor sizing. But some GMs do allow it anyway as an optional rule still. Who knows? Maybe we can find a giant sized ally who needs armor! =)

"I doubt this is the last Cyclops on the planet Cassie! And they should have known better than to try and live on OUR island. We earned this place fair and square! They were just squatting on it!"

She then waves Esmarelda toward the exit, her boots leaving bloody prints behind her.

"Distractions m'lady...Distractions!"

Carefully removing her soaked hood from her head completely, Govrina nods at the man's effort of being polite.

"Greetings sheriff. I am sorry to bother you, but I am here to tell you a strange story. I ask your patience, as I only know my part in it all, but I fear if we wait too long true justice may escape this night."

She proceeds to tell the whole sordid tale from her perspective, stopping only at the point when Gravi enters her window. At that point she steps back to let him finish the tale from his perspective.

Suddenly surrounded by 'Master Gravi's' friend-herd Govrina squints a little around the room and sighs heavily while grasping her backpack to her chest for some basic comfort and support. She reminds herself quickly of her father's many...many...lessons, and leans into the sudden welcoming support, and reminds herself that politeness is king.

"First of all, Master Gravi, I want to thank you and any gods who provided you to me for the timely rescue. A few hours later and I would most likely be much worse off, or worse, left to rot in the ground somewhere forgotten."

She pulls back her cloak's forest-green hood, and reveals her horns, heavily scaled skin, and obviously fiendish heritage without pride or hesitation. She waves off Wayilant's interest.

"I am Govrina Fireblood, originally from Nirmathas. Greetings to all of you? In short, I was kidnapped and held on various ships at sea for...days?...weeks? I'm unsure exactly. I'm OK now...I guess? I was not molested nor injured on purpose, and I was not starved. However, the proprietor of that establishment 'bought' me and expected a major return on his investment. I intended to refuse vociferously, until your friend entered my room's window and decided to help me escape."

She flicks her fingers at her curled horns.

"Evidently in this land my heritage runs against me. Maybe I should just get out of town quickly? The last thing I want to do is cause trouble here or anywhere. The Worldwound is far from here, but its demonic influence must still be felt even here. In Nirmathas, the constant warfare with Molthune means anyone willing to fight the enemy is usually welcome, regardless of species or appearance."

She then sighs and grips her horns with both hands and tugs on them in a motion that seems familiar to her.

"I never intended to be born with horns, scales, wings, or a tail...but I would never want to be anything other than what I am. My adopted father is a half-orc, and never let me learn to hate my family heritage. Although I wish he had warned me about the problems it might cause me once I was away from home."

Thankfully entering the tavern and leaving the rain behind, Govrina doesn’t shy away from boldly asking the most obvious question once the human offers some basic comforts. She hisses softly to her companion once they are alone-ish…

“Sure…whatever…just…where the f#*& am I?”

And I read an article that shows my bosses' fears are silly. Studies show the people who are working from home with 'side hustles' or are applying for 'better work' while there would have more than likely been doing that anyway. Working from home really wasn't and isn't much of a factor. Unhappy employees are just unhappy employees in the end.

In short, she’s a decent person trying to find her place in the world. Although it appears some of the world is not keen on her trying!

The Long: She was adopted by a 1/2 orc Iroran monk as a baby and raised in monastery-like conditions in Nirmathas. Although she had the fortitude to to learn martial and ascetic life, she did not have the discipline for it. However, the mental training and meditation unlocked her potential for supernatural powers and now, she can move things with her mind. Knowing her adopted father could not help her, she left to ‘find herself’ and learn to push her boundaries, both physically and mentally.

Looks like my bad rolling luck keeps following me onto other games here... Activating Judgement (Healing): gains fast healing 1, so that's 1hp back so far. Did he actually charge? Then he gets an AC penalty if he did.

Grimacing at the pain, Merelda curses at the man like a pirate, and drops the whip. She then silently calls on her goddess's blessing to heal her as she draws her rapier and steps inside the halberd's reach to strike back at her attacker...

Damage Rapier: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

Just a quick update: They checked her heart, but found nothing new. So they discharged her. It was a mild heart attack, but luckily it was just a warning shot, not a real fight...so to speak. Now convincing her to do less work? Yeah, that's going to be hard.

I'm good. Slow pace is better than no pace...

I may have, uh, taken some notes on everyone's backstory when I joined up and have been...hoping that certain moments would go in plot-worthy directions.

Yeah, that is one spell as a cleric you are always afraid not to take 'just in case' but rarely use it so you don't waste it prematurely.

Also, I'm pretty sure his 'operatives' are run by a guy we've discredited in his eyes recently (with the Swan helping). He might still be getting info from them, but he might not be believing everything they tell him right now either.

Additionally, I think I was lead to believe the guy is a decent spellcaster? A sorcerer maybe? At least HE thinks so? So he will probably put up at least a minimal fight, then 'maybe-possibly' teleport or something away once he knows he can't win.
