Im good, I think the problem is making a decision on our next move with what little information to go on. Is the creature following? We have no idea. If we run for it, and it manages to follow us, can we reach the port/fort before it can annihilate us in the open? If we set a trap or ambush we are unsure of our best defense or offensive positions. Basically we need to make a decision and then do it. Im unsure what’s best right now. It seems like we want to try and ambush the thing but we are having trouble deciding where exactly to put an ambush/defense in place where everything is made for giants.

I only made it home today from the hospital, and my father's memorial is tomorrow! He passed just over a week ago. My life right now...I NEED this kinda stuff to relieve my pressure. I just don't always have a bunch of time to devote to the details and role-playing as much as I would like right now. I will get better: I promise.

I'm assuming the trap's a go.
1. Can we make a quick but believable fake of the Eye somehow...or at least an illusion of one?
2. We need to make sure the rest of the crew is away from the area. Don't want to blow up our own guys by accident, or let any get possessed!
3. What exactly are we looking at for protection spells? Protection from Evil at least...right? We know we want to pile on the ghost once her gets here, but we have to survive long enough to do it.
4. Any other helpful ideas?

I can do some illusion spells, and in fact, hide most of is with my Master's Illusion ability, but here's the thing, I'm pretty sure ghosts' good save is Will, so illusions aren't all that reliable a tactic.
protection from evil, ghostbane dirge, Magic Circle against Evil, Swallow your Fear, Anti-Incorporeal Shell are some of the key ones that I can think of.

@Rhialla: Ggod point. But they don’t get to make a save until they interact with an illusion first. Right? Even so, any spellcaster will have a decent Will save. This is all chance and guessing until we try in the end. Fighting a ghost should be challenging for normal pirates. We are just better than average pirates!

Since we have the location then, let's plan the right series of events.
Step 0 (Prep): Long term protection spells, like Prot from Evil and similar to keep him from trying to possess one of us.
Step 1. Volunteer/Bait goes in, draws out the Ghost from the Ethereal plane. (We need him to manifest first. Right?)
2. Hit him with the Ghostbane Dirge, and we pump up our attack abilities (Haste and similar short term buffing spells) at the same time.
3. Underpants!...I mean we beat the snot out of the ghost and send him on to Pharasma's spiral!
4. Profit!

I have a lot of spells, but I don't have anything that:
• Makes ghost touch weapons
• Prevents an incorporeal creature from just passing through walls, except by holding it in a bubble of force
• Protects against the supernatural aging powers of ghosts
Against a ghost wizard, my best options are to hit him with force spells like magic missile and to try to counterspell his attacks, but without knowing his spells in advance, that's a chancy proposition. Everything else is gonna do half damage or less (due to incorporeality), and if he just pops out of a wall and starts aging people, we're gonna be hurting pretty quick.

If he fails the save for Ghostbane dirge, that'll solve the 1/2 damage problem. I don't have any spells to keep him I'm place or protect from aging either but can at least boost our saves against anything he does.

That’s why I’ve always like basic Protection from Evil spells. It gives you at least a +2 bonus on saves and AC, and prevents domination and control effects, at least for a limited time.
Im probably the best chance to be bait for this thing. If you can get rid of the incorporeal effect , then I can at least attempt to throw some parries and fight defensively against his attacks, while you guys blast him to blast him to smithereens from range.

Sadly it is an ongoing condition. I have Meniere's disease. I've had it for over 40 years now.
Watching my diet has kept it manageable, but every 4 or 5 years it flares up and hits me.
I'm currently nauseous and dizzy. It normally lasts around a week, so hopefully it should clear over the next few day.

I do have force anchor, I picked it up because of the ship motif, I just don't remember it because I never use it.

I started a new job, and I now commute 52 hours per month! So that is eating into my spare time.
