Hey, I never really got around to PF2 games, and I suspect I'm not the only one!...

I’ve tried it and it was OK, but technically I really like 5th Edition D&D better as a game to me. Old school Pathfinder is always my jam of course. But I fear its a slow dying beast in the end.

I did like what they did with the initiative system in PF 2. A real improvement IMHO.

Just a quick update: They checked her heart, but found nothing new. So they discharged her. It was a mild heart attack, but luckily it was just a warning shot, not a real fight...so to speak. Now convincing her to do less work? Yeah, that's going to be hard.

Oh, good luck with that. Getting a mum to sit down? That's going to be a tough battle.

I don’t want to step on my mom’s Ego, but there comes a time at some point when you have to step up and act the grownup to your parents. She could live another 10 or 20 years if she started relaxing and taking things easier. She takes on more stress than she should, simply because that was what she was taught to do by her mother. I just hope I can make up the difference in the end.

Learning that sometimes things just don't get done can be a hard lesson.

Is it me, or is this game slowly dying? We've been stuck in the same fight for two months now...

Im good with slow pacing, so Im not complaining. This time of year (Oct -Dec) is usually hard on everyone for various reasons. GMs are usually already multi-tasking normally in their lives and Ive learned to accept they often get overwhelmed by real life more often than not during the Holidays.

This just means that I have time to plan my next performance! Perhaps the song about a wall that was done by someone named Floyd.

I guess that's just me then. I kind of miss riffing on each other's role-play and writing nice dialogue or backstory scenes :')

It's on me im keeping it alive but I understand my own slow pace of updating is whats keeping it down. Just a combination of things. Part of it is that works been pretty hectic and we're about to be down yet another man with none to replace them so it's hard to get on the phone and update as work is when I do the majority updates.

I understand, and I certainly don't want to sound ungrateful. I've been in many APs that sizzled out because the pace slowed down, and it would be a shame to see this one go as well. Hence my worry

Maintaining a good pace is TOUGH. I've tried on my games to keep them moving but sometimes( like right now) you just hit a WALL.

Or life intervenes and things get hectic. And then you feel bad because you are behind. And then you avoid going on the boards because you feel bad because you are behind. And then you are MORE behind and then somebody steals the perfectly good heart you had ripening under the floorboards. And the whole world explodes.

Well...here it goes:

I have been diagnosed with a bad ticker. And they are in a hurry to get it fixed: Next Tuesday I will be getting open heart surgery and a Heart Bypass at my local VA. That means I will be in the hospital for at least a week of recovery and home resting after that for weeks. I will attempt to keep up with my games, at least by phone for now, but I cannot guarantee anything after next Monday yet. That's assuming I survive. They gave me a pretty low percentage of something going wrong, but with any surgery you never know...

I am still available between now and next Monday however. If you need anything from me for this game until then, just let me know.

Either way, please feel free to bot my character as needed after next Monday, and I hope to get back to all my PbP games (by phone at least) as soon as I can. Hopefully by...Christmas? We'll see I guess.

Thank you all. Technically I feel fine right now. No chest pains or anything. I had some shortness of breath about a year ago, but that went away when I changed my diet (Less nitrates...or is it nitrites? Whatever is in cheap processed meat a lot).

Had some weird pressure on my left side (like someone was sticking his hand under my ribs). No pain really.

But my doctor wanted to do some tests, then some tests were off, and they lead to more tests...until bam! I evidently have 5 arteries clogged on the left side of my heart (2 of which are at 90%!).

So now we rush to do bypass surgery. I'm not looking forward to it...but I have to do it for my 9 year old son. He lives with me (his mother moved to Boston) and I need to make sure I can stick around for the long haul as much as possible.
