We Be Pathfinders!

This Saturday, June 20th, is Free RPG Day! Participating hobby game retail locations and industry publishers will be giving away free adventures and other materials so that gamers can try new games and play exclusive content together. This year Paizo has contributed two special products. A few months ago, Tanis O'Connor introduced us to the Pathfinder Adventure Card Game's special treat: the adventurous goblin Ekkie. Of course, many of you familiar with Pathfinder Society have likely met the little warrior while dealing with a certain goblin guild. I have no doubt she'll get up to even crazier antics now that she's a playable character.

We're also debuting We Be Goblins Free!, a new adventure featuring the Licktoad tribe's champions Reta, Mogmurch, Chuffy, and Poog. As in past years, the new Free RPG Day module is also sanctioned for the organized play campaign, and we're releasing the sanctioning document today so that GMs have a chance to read over it and print out Chronicle sheets. If you're planning to play the adventure first, I encourage you not to peek and spoil the surprise, so I'll answer some of your anticipated questions now.

How many Prestige Points does We Be Goblins Free grant?
This module does have a secondary success condition of sorts, allowing someone to gain up to 2 Prestige Points for playing the adventure. Anyone playing this on Free RPG Day this Saturday automatically qualifies for the second point.

Is it bad if my goblin pregenerated character dies?
As was the case when I sanctioned We Be Goblins Too, it's still important that a deceased goblin's horribly squishy death be resolved, but doing so happens at a heavily subsidized rate: 5 Prestige Points completely clears up even the worst fate that you might inflict on your pregenerated character during the module.

Does the Chronicle sheet have lots of cool boons?
The Chronicle sheet has lots of cool boons, including one for Squealy Nord and owlbear enthusiasts.

Where can I download the sanctioning document?
On the product page or the right-hand side of the Additional Resources page.

Any chance we'll get the goblin pre-gens as a separate PDF like previous Free RPG Day products?

Quick question regarding the "Prestigious Goblin" boon:

Spoiler:

Quote:

If you have the You Be

Goblin boon, the You Really Be Goblin boon, are a goblin (requiring a special Chronicle sheet), or completed
this module during the Free RPG Day 2015 event, you gain 1 additional Prestige Point when you receive this
Chronicle sheet. If you do not meet these conditions, cross this boon off the Chronicle sheet.

Does the "If you have the YBG or YRBG boon" part only apply if it is for the same character you apply WBG Free credit towards, or any of your characters?

Thanks!

Yes, a PDF of the pre-gens to print and hand out would be fantastic!

Owlbeak is a typo I assume.

Huh, yes, that last one should be owlbear.

** spoiler omitted **

In Response:
That character would need to have received the You Be Goblin or You Really Be Goblin boon on a Chronicle sheet assigned to him. Just having played one of the previous modules and assigned the credit to a different character would not earn the Prestigious Goblin boon.

Is there any chance that we will have pre-gens for the module available, or should I just copy from the mod that I picked up at my FLGS?

Pregens to print would be wonderful.

I know this uses non-core pregens. Can the chronicles be applied to core characters as long as everyone at the table does so?

I don't see why you couldn't so long as the rest of the table is assigning the chronicle to a Core character as well. Reporting issues and all that.

Will the pregens be available in advance, as they were two years ago for We Be Goblins Too!?

I don't think any of the WBG can be Core Campaign games, but I can't find the reference to that now.

Reasoning being? Goblin isnt a playable race in Core so the pregens arent legal?

Mike Brock has stated that We Be Goblins (and presumably its sequels) can be reported as a Core Campaign session.

Of which I think, a total of three or less exist in the entire campaign. As they were all obtained via charity auctions.

What? No. It was a prize for the "winning" tables of Race to the Runecarved Key Part 2. They're limited, but in the dozens range (I believe, not to mention a lot of them are dead now), not the single digits.

Sczarni 5/5 5/55/5 ***

30-something from Runecarved Key, and at least 1 from a charity auction, was the last count I heard, 2 or 3 of which have not been played, or only recently were created.

AFAIK the one from the charity auction was donated by someone who got it from the Race for the Runecarved Key part 2.

I have 4 tables of this game lined up for Saturday at a local store. Paper copies are not arriving at the store until Friday. How the heck are the GMs supposed to prep the game?

Our GMs are arriving 1 hour before we run the game so we can read the adventure so we're not going in completely cold. Out of the three GMs we've got, one has a printer and is making 15 copies of the chronicle sheets and rules. I've already PMed a few people who already have copies, and found out what minis/cardboard pawns I need. I've sent that same list to the other GMs so they know what to bring. The rest we're playing by ear.

Silver Crusade 5/5 5/55/5 **** Venture-Captain, Germany—Bavaria

Not having sufficient prep time to provide the usual level quality is one of the reasons why running this doesn't seem very appealing to me.

That said, free RPG day is a much bigger event in the USA than in my corner of Europe, and I haven't had a FLGS in my area for quite some time.
Well there is one, but I haven't approached them just jet, since RPGs are a very minor part of their portfolio, they mostly deal in video games, board games and geeky stuff(and as far as I know their closing time would make it pretty impossible to run PFS).
I have asked one of my players, who does have a connection to the store, to check if there is interest, but chances are pretty slim.

Liberty's Edge 4/5 *

Depending on when your location registered for the event, they might get the package sooner. My location got theirs last week.

That said, I've read the module and it is on par with previous "We Be Goblins" offerings in difficulty. Not having an extensive prep period shouldn't be as big a problem as it is for regular scenarios.

Silver Crusade 5/5

I've had it for over a week, it's pretty simple and straightforward, having limited prep time for it shouldn't be too much of an issue.

Liberty's Edge 4/5 *** Venture-Lieutenant, California—Los Angeles (South Bay)

I presume that if I run it as a PFS event (which is my plan), I can still have a total of seven players.

Sczarni 5/5 5/55/5 ***

If you can muster 7 players, you can also muster 2 tables with 3 players each.

Liberty's Edge 4/5 *** Venture-Lieutenant, California—Los Angeles (South Bay)

They should each be located under their respected scenarios as a separate pdf.
