Juriya Arima |
Yeah, Juriya tried (emphasis on tried, 7 WIS fox she is) to deliver the news as softly as possible, but might not turn out okay. At least it'll prevent her from seeing the "work of art" that is glassed-Lonjiku.
Juriya Arima |
Would taking Ameiko back to the Rusty Dragon cause any adverse effects? In-character Juriya would 100% be down to take her back, but I don't want to leave the party to suffer missing a character in the midst of combat, out-of-character.
Ano Clovermark |
Quick clarification, is Juriya taking Ameiko back by herself, or with everyone else? Cause uh Ano’s not done talking to that goblin

For Ano (well everyone can look and laugh at my first attempt):
Arrian
I'm not happy with the armor; it's heavier than I envisioned. Unfortunately it seems to go from the heavy armors to the light with not much in between.
In PF game terms his ideal armor would be mithral breastplate.
Ano Clovermark |
That's a great first attempt! Would you want me to draw him with the helmet on? If not would he be bald or have hair?

Testing, testing, 1, 2, 3...
To clarify, that "facepaint" circle isn't literally what that looks like, that's supposed to be a stand-in for the broken ring of runes around Donimah's left eye. The actual runes are the ones found on the Cypher Gate, which can be seen in these pictures here and here. Here are a bunch of Thassilonian runes that can be used for the component runes in the circle, the only specific details are that the circle isn't a full one, so there should be a noticeable gap, probably on the lower half, and the one directly over Donimah's eye is the one labelled "greed." And if you decide to include the medallion in your headshot, rather than a generic star shape it should be a shaped like a Sihedron.
Should've downloaded this sooner, but the link no longer works :(

I might draft up Shiro and Kimie's NPC sheets and a bit of information on them when I have the spare time... (and because they might eventually be needed given drama)
And yeah, I noticed that too about HeroForge, doesn't really have many options for medium armor. Working with HeroForge can be anything from really great, to downright hard to find anything for, depending on your choices. I made one for most of my characters, it's decent enough.

Alright, finished Juriya's "squeaky clean" family of alchemists, just in case they're needed for potential drama in the future (read: interaction with Ano's family).

Kimie Arima, unlike her husband, is not originally from Minkai, though she tries to keep that a tight-lipped secret. She's originally from a family of Kitsune living in the forest bordering Taldor. No one except her husband, not even her own daughter know this of her. She met her husband after she was exiled from her home for some... less-than-stellar attempts at experimentation and healing with her alchemical and anatomical knowledge. As a child and a teenager, she would dissect insects and small rodents, stopping short of foxes for very obvious reasons, to see how their insides functioned, sometimes when alive. Hence, she was promptly booted from her home in the forest, and everyone she knew, and wandered practicing as a wandering healer, until she came across her now-husband from Minkai, Shiro Arima. The two got married once Shiro finally settled in Sandpoint, and opened up a somewhat-wide-reaching alchemical supplier that reaches Sandpoint and the surrounding regions of Varisia.
Now in Sandpoint, she's primarily a healer, constantly brewing an excess of potions of Cure Light Wound potions to sell to people in and around Sandpoint. When the Late Unpleasantness hit, she was one of the first to action to heal anyone who was impacted in the fire, as well as using some of her not-exactly-ethically-obtained extracts to determine when someone was on death's door. No one in town knew where she got that ability and just chalked it up to normal run-of-the-mill alchemy.
Both her and her husband are relatively distrustful of spellcasting proper, and prefer to bottle up whatever magic they have and use it themselves, or in Kimie's case, give it out at a fee that nets them a profit. She sometimes butts heads with other methods of healings (herbalism and prayer in specific), because deep down, she knows through experience what does and doesn't work and wants the best for both her pocket and everyone around her.

Infamous for being one of the physically-weakest villagers, Shiro Arima is a brilliant alchemist whose father originally moved from Minkai at the same time as the Kaijitsus, allowing them to benefit off of the nonexistent-cost-of-shipping that is shipping to someone who lives right next door. Though a few generations back, his family was better known in Minkai as spellcasters proper, something that Shiro loathes to bring up. He relishes in the predictability of alchemy.
A relatively-open secret is Shiro's dependency on intelligence-enhancing cognatogens. He's enhanced by them about half of the day, and is particularly miserable once he's off of them while preparing another. The habit started when the Late Unpleasantness happened, when he decided to try to find out the identity of the killer by being constantly alchemically enhanced before the town guard could. When he never arrived at an answer, he took it as a personal failing, and poured himself further into his work than before, as well as working overtime on bomb production to ensure the safety of his family, should another sequence of events like that ever occur again.

He'd have hair and helmet or not is up to the artist. :)
His face would look very much like the icon picture I use for him.Ano Clovermark |
Honestly wasn’t expecting the DM to consider Fosyo a BBG. Will make a post later when I get some errands done.
But quick question-I take it that Ano didn’t heal up when they got back? part of me wants it to be like that so Fosyo takes notice, but it’s fine if she gets healed up too.
Juriya Arima |
Meanwhile, Juirya is having an intense internal debate about whether to hand over evidence to the authorities since it... might implicate her parents, as the contract doesn't exactly say "this is a ploy to hang over Fosyo's head until this blows over" in bright red ink.
Hopefully I'm portraying 7 WIS 18 INT well enough with the frantic nuttiness of the character. If she doesn't explicitly think to use common sense, like in the heat of the moment, she has none lmao.
Ano Clovermark |
I'm pretty sure, in a legal sense, they gave Fosyo options, and she chose the worst one, so it lies more on her than Juriya's parents
Juriya Arima |
Hence why I said might, but the potential consequences of that are enough to weigh anyways, ha. It did indeed hit the fan, ha.

Arrian can heal Ano if you'd like; he had one 1st level spell slot available at the end of the fight. Since we advanced to 2nd I'm not sure when the 'new' slot becomes available for use.

Question for Donimah-are you deleting the image from what server you’re posting the image? If so that might be the problem.
.Arrian |
Perhaps using Discord to host your images is a bad idea?
Problem is Paizo seems to be embracing Discord. :(

Not intentionally? It was still there when I looked for it.

I think Discord deletes it after a certain amount of time, now? I remember it being a big kerfuffle in a server I'm in.
Ano Clovermark |
Yeah it’s saying the image doesn’t exist.
Also clarification for your post, Fosyo clawed Zeldrith, though she did pierce one of Ano’s ears and kinda tore at it due to Zeldrith pulling her hand away.
.Arrian |
So is it just not working for you, Ano?
I received the same message when I tried to open it. I think Juriya did as well.

Donimah Southlander wrote:So is it just not working for you, Ano?I received the same message when I tried to open it. I think Juriya did as well.
Can confirm.
Juriya Arima |
There's a share button! That's how I shared both Juriya pics. (I've made one for most of my PCs and keep them in a notepad doc)
Juriya Arima |
Yeah. I would have made one for her fox form, but they didn't have the right spots for piebaldism (the link in her profile shows what she looks like as a fox)
Zeldrith Angothane |
...But not for Ano...
Actually, healing her might not go amiss, but seeing as how Fosyo has a negative Str modifier compared to Zeldrith's +4, I think she might need it more.
Though that does raise the question of whether we want to heal her... No worries either way, it's all nonlethal, so unless she only had 4 HP, it probably won't kill her.
.Arrian |
Shoot. I think I'm gonna have to redo the figure, then. :(
It's free to set up an account and I think you can login with a Google login.
Juriya Arima |
I'll get my post up later today for that response. Likely will be just presenting the evidence to the Sherriff, but I might retcon it so Juriya is the firsr out after the whole fight happens.
.Arrian |
Couldn't sleep well, decided to put up the post now. Hopefully it's satisfactory enough.
The only critique I would have is Juriya going by herself. The rest of the group should also go to the Sheriff not only for Ano's situation but the goblin situation.
And it's the potential for another goblin attack that the PCs should not go on solo trips or split the party.Juriya Arima |
I'll add that as well, she'll also say that people are coming to report something presumably more imminent. She has the proof for Fosyo, not for the Goblin raid.
.Arrian |
Ano:
I found these pages for pictures, and one video, for Mountain Pattern armor. It's probably the closest thing I can find right now to what I envision Arrian wearing (although it would be mithral so as to not hinder his speed).

These are more breastplate-adjacent styles:
Juriya Arima |
My insomniac self forgot to write that part, but she is waiting for the rest of the group to show up with the journal for proof of everything at the Glassworks. I added a post saying that, and she doesn't intend to split the party, she just didn't want to add more stress to Ano than she already has by well... revealing that outright.
Zeldrith Angothane |
You know, in hindsight, it might have been a bad idea to step in and defend Ano like that - Fosyo might try to lie to Sheriff Hemlock, say that Zeldrith went insane and started attacking her and Ano. In his defense, he didn't even say anything when Fosyo directly hit him - he only stepped in when she started attacking Ano.
Ano Clovermark |
Honestly a part of me was worried my post would be overkill. Fosyo snapping is largely inspired by that one scene in Cinderella where the stepsisters rip her dress in rage. And I did have the plans for Fosyo to go ballistic on Ano later in the chapter, but because of rising tensions-especially when Zeldrith grabs her and Juriya mentions the contract-felt like a good moment for the dynamite to go off.

I mean, if you ever see cases of Karens physically attacking someone only to get struck, the law tends to focus more on the Karen attacking people. Plus, Zeldrith tried to be reasonable only to witness Fosyo attack Ano-pretty sure there’s been many cases where an abusive parent gets slugged for assaulting their kid in public.
Juriya Arima |
I wondered who was going to be the first to call Fosyo a Karen, honestly. I didn't even mean to mention Fosyo that one time, and it led to all this. Whoops.
