What are these rolls for me. Juriya can't land a single hit!
It's my fault. More than one player will tell you the dice roller has sworn a curse against me and my bad luck spreads. :(

Can someone refresh my memory of where the language to PF language chart is located?

Sincerest apologies - I remember I found one once, but I don't have it off the top of my head, and if my memory's off, I'd be happy to switch. I had Akkadian for Abyssal (though I fully understand if people want to switch to a slightly less dead language), and I thought I saw something somewhere about Greek for Thassilonian.
After seeing Ano's post, it would seem I'm off by quite a bit. I'd be happy to use DM Salsa's language list, if that's what everyone agrees. Sincerest apologies again for the mistake.

Thanks! I knew I'd seen it but couldn't remember where. I need to pin my address to my coat so I can be returned when lost.

This is an awesome list, I missed it in the original recruitment. Thanks Ano.
Also, I just realized something. It wouldn't have made a difference in the past, but let's not overlook it in the future: Enlarge Person is a 1 round cast. Meaning that our boy Arrian would only grow in size this round.
I thought it had been since Arrian went first round (regular size) and then the second round (enlarged) so I apologize for not having the timing correct.

posting this in here to help me keep track. though I’m not sure if it should be 9/12 or 10/12 so for now I’m going with 9/12 to be on the safe
for more context I’m not sure if you immedately take one off the rage as soon as you go into rage, or if it stays at max on the first round then goes down by 1 with every round
also since next level I’ll take oracle and take the tongues curse, any chance I can have Ano babble in one of the languages of said curse now, but in a more gibberish tone? if not I’ll just have her shriek in fury like I’ve been doing now, either way having the idea for her to be incomprehensible while in rage

What I do is put it in the PC's 'tagline' on the "Classes and Level" field. For example Arrian cast Cure Light Wounds on Ano so I marked that he now has "Spells: 1st Level (1/2)."
Apologies if you know this stuff already but many GMs on here have coached me into using the taglines to keep track of updated/temporary spells, effects, etc.I'll put my 2 cents in on the Rage question. You deduct a round when the PC enters rage because it starts on the PC's turn and lasts a minimum of 1 round.
Juriya Arima |
How do you want to go about regathering ammunition, GM? Normally I use guns and I don't have to worry about this, but bolts have a 1/2 chance of being salvageable if I remember correctly? Do you want me or you to roll for collection?
Zeldrith Angothane |
...You know, looking over the party as it stands, poor Juriya's the only PC who can't cast spells (yet). We have a singularly magical group of well-adjusted, level-headed people.
Juriya Arima |
Well. To be fair, she's only going to take 3 levels of Rogue. She gets to "cast spells" at level 4, and she gets to give them to everyone around her at level 5 with infusion, which will likely all go towards cure extracts. So... she has about the same Spellcasting ability as Ano.
Ano Clovermark |
Ano currently doesn’t have any spellcasting. bloodragers don’t get spells until 4th level like a paladin. though she’ll get a few divine spells through oracle next level, I’ll have to plan on what spells to select.
Zeldrith Angothane |
Actually, I'm not planning to have Zeldrith multiclass at all. His archetype swaps out Spell Recall and certain Spell Combat capabilities for all the bloodline abilities of a bloodrager, which is all I really need from another class - like I said, he won't hit his stride until Level 4, but after that, he's going to be an incredibly effective warrior, against spellcasters especially.
.Arrian |
I doubt I'll multiclass Arrian. First it's a spring to get the Bane class ability at 5th level and then I don't want to interrupt his spell progression. Inquisitors get some nice 2nd and 3rd level spells.

wait nevermind I’m dumb I realized the main reason I’m doing oracle next level is to take lame to be immune to fatigue

Sounds like two good reasons. :)
I like runes |
Per round abilities: you deduct starting on the round you used it and it gives you benefit. Consider the extreme example where you only have 1 round left. You activate it, gain its benefits. If next round you still get benefits, this means you benefitted for 2 rounds even though you only had 1 left. Does this make sense? I feel like I'm rambling.
Juriya, since crossbows are not the main combat feature of your character, go ahead and ignore ammo. Unless they are...?

I meant more along the lines of poor Ano's psychotic episodes and Zel's Goblinblood Wars flashbacks. Of course, Zel is even more thoroughly messed up in the backstory I'm working on for any future Return of the Runelords campaigns - let's just say I based it on the Ypres Bunch sample adventuring party from the CoC Investigator's Handbook.
Zeldrith Angothane |
One of the sample adventuring parties from the CoC Investigator's Handbook. Basically, the relevant portion of the backstory goes like so:
- Mercenary army is crossing the Mindspin Mountains when Zeldrith's platoon of 40 is separated from the rest of the group in a blizzard.
- Seeking refuge from the storm, they stumble across an ancient Thassilonian temple called Calag Ashkad.
- The friendly and definitely humanoid monks who inhabit the temple offer the soldiers solace in the disused outer rooms of the temple complex.
- A group of the soldiers disappear overnight, and the rest try to find them.
- During the ensuing Lovecraftian bloodbath, Zeldrith is one of seven members of the platoon who (largely by dumb luck) manage to flee the temple with bodies and minds intact, swearing never to speak of what they saw.
...Admittedly, I'm a little fuzzy on what exactly inhabits the ancient temple, since I wrote it while still half-asleep, but my notes have the name 'Smiling Things' and a reference to the clockwork puppeteers from 2E - have you seen those things? They're nightmarish!

Grabs some popcorn in anticipation of what the goblins will do! And how will the heroes respond???
Juriya Arima |
Hope it's okay to assume she would have switched to the Rapier, otherwise her action is just going to be withdraw immediately. She's at 1HP.
Juriya Arima |
Withdraw it is then! Still cackling like a maniac knowing what the Goblins might do, but no skewering a poor guy this time.
Zeldrith Angothane |
Probably should have mentioned earlier - Zeldrith's standard action for this turn is to cast Shield, hence his higher AC. Also, if I'm still able, I'll have him use his swift action this turn to burn an Eldritch Pool point - for the next two rounds (this one and the next), Concentration DCs to cast defensively within melee range of him will be increased by 2. I'd use it next turn, but I'm going to be using Arcane Strike instead to add to his damage.

Loving the angry RP Ano.
Persephone, I drew a 20x20 square on the map, let me know if this is what you intended, or feel free to change it. Also, please let me know what the 3 Lore Seeker spells are.
Apologies!
1. Burning Sands (although I actually thought the damage increased as leveled, but it doesn't...disappointing)
2. Fireball
3. Elemental Aura
The last two she will have access at 6th level from Wandering Spirit Hex.
Area is perfect except Persephone and it 1 5' Square "up" please. She took a 5' Step and wants 1 Square of spell between them...hehe.
Thank you!

Consider it another benefit of having a tiefling frontliner. You can cast it with impunity in Zeldrith's spaces - even with max damage, his Fire Resist 5 still covers it, and if the enemies don't have the same, 1d4 extra fire damage per round with no save is nothing to sneeze at - as 1st-level characters, the fire damage alone could take out any of us in four rounds.
Persephone. |
Her entire build was based of Lore Speaker and
Hag Racial Trait Ash-born changelings gain a +1 racial bonus on damage rolls for spells with the fire descriptor. This bonus increases by 1 for every 4 character levels the changeling has beyond 1st.
I really like that Zel! Plus the Difficult terrain!

Just noticed this - if you wanted to take both, there is always the Dual-Cursed Oracle. If you just want the Tongues curse for flavor, you can take it as the secondary curse, then take the Lame curse as your main one for the fatigue immunity. One quick note, however - unless you pick Abyssal as your Tongues language, nobody in the party will be able to understand you, and even if you do, Zel will have to be the translator, as he's the only one who knows a planar language.
Zeldrith Angothane |
Persephone will be learning many languages as we....adventure.*
* - Translation: Meander around like blind elephants, blundering through, parallel to, perpendicular to, and occasionally over the plotline.
See? Zeldrith is already helping with translation!

Loving the angry RP Ano.
Looking at the background stories of the iconic barbarian and bloodrager, makes sense that Ano’s true rage powers come up during a stressful moment.
For Amiri, it was not being taken seriously by her family.
For Crowe, it was a nightmare coming to life.
For Ano, it’s repressed trauma.

Since it's just a one level dip into oracle, I might go with that route.

One possible issue - the Lame curse doesn't give you immunity to fatigue until Level 5, so if that's what you were hoping to get out of the oracle class, it'll have to be a more significant dip.

Wasn't there a rule about curse progression while multiclassing? It'll still be a while if I remember correctly, though.

My favorite thing to think about is making a GM run out of languages entirely. Rogue talent, Mindchemist discovery, and Tengu, Human, Aphorite, or Aasimar.
2 languages per level with a rank in linguistics every level means you get 40 languages, not to mention the discovery and talent, nor the starting languages!
