An Event Worth Mention.

Pathfinder has such a unique and lore rich world, with Holidays and festivals, such as the Day of Bones, the Razmiran Burning night, and Merrymead, as well as real life holidays, other MMO's handle events with quests and npc's ranging from engaging and interesting all the way to wow-esque grinding repetition, though we as players have events we wish to see, such as Saint Xeilias Day in our own unique way.

My query how would the community like to see special occasions take place, and what events would you like to see.

Really liked the world events in Warhammer Online, if they were combined with physical festivities in game instead of just a gather/grinding quest then that could be really fun and dynamic. Though WO flopped horribly they had really cool concepts.

I support the idea of having world events generated by GW based on PF lore and player generated events in the meta game, and celebrated in-game.

The reality is, the player events will start off small and will likely only be celebrated by those who create them.

"Green Hat Tuesday" is a celebration of the chaotic side that lives in all of us. It can be celebrated through random acts of violence, kindness or just random acts period (ie Dancing in the most inopportune time).

The actual wearing of a green hat is not required by all participants. If one person is wearing a green hat and the other is not, the other can still be interacted with through violence, kindness or a random act. There is no opt-out for Green Hat Tuesday.

"Green Hat Tuesday" will be celebrated on the 4th Tuesday of September, and then at least one other random Tuesday during the year.

The Genesis of the Celebration:

For those who do not know, Green Hat Tuesday was actually created on a Monday. It was used as an example to state that if a Chaotic Evil killer decided to kill someone for wearing a green hat, said random act would still be a meaningful interaction in the mind of the killer.

The outrage spawned by such a statement led to an example being drawn, one that dragged Hobs the Short into the discussion. Hobs was a very purposeful first victim for both its shock value and the assumption that he would actually participate in the exercise. On both cases the selection proved to be essential and Green Hat Tuesday became a part of this forum's culture and a metaphor for justifying seemingly random acts by declaring they only need to have meaning for the person initiating them.

Green Hat Tuesday was first celebrated this past December 24, 2013. It had 7 unique participants in its forum thread. It is hoped that its first in-game celebration will take place in PFO, during EE, on the 4th Tuesday of september 2014.

In the event that there are no green hats in PFO. In the delusional mind of the first celebrant, he or she will think someone is wearing a green hat.... There will be no opt-out of Green Hat Tuesday.

As someone with little experience in Pathfinder TT, it would help to first know what festivals they have and what they entail.

Second, are you asking what we hope GW would provide for these (such as how WoW or Rift provide quests, special buffs, abilities, rewards, etc. for holiday festivities) or what players want to create for same?

3 people marked this as a favorite.

Quick List of Holidays I found, with either region or faith of celebration noted.

Of particular note, I would like to point out Taxfest...

"The collection of fair taxes is considered an integral part of the maintenance of society, and is therefore holy to the god Abadar. Taxfest is a holiday celebrated annually on 15 Gozran where priests of the Master of the First Vault accompany tax collectors in their duties. The church officials monitor these activities to make sure that the process is conducted respectfully and justly, and that citizens know that the process is monitored."
