I feel like Trevor is under-utilizing my agents. I wonder if he can use his agents to undergo the They're With Me (Charm, Risky) Advanced Operation option?
Yes, you can use that. As long as there are humanoids to infiltrate as. It could work at the Encircling Bower because there are humans, dwarves, aasimars, etc. But it won't work at the Sanguine Brothers Fine Meats, because you're mostly dealing with evil outsiders, divs, there. It could have worked at Tallgrasses too.
I'll do another persona phase after the Grand Uncle if you want to send agents somewhere.

On the next day, Xallis makes sure to have some layers of protection. Two castings of extended mage armor on himself and his eidolon should function well enough.
I missed that it was a new day. Henrika will also look to her defenses before they begin investigating. She'll cast heightened awareness, false life, and of course message periodically, and implant her Mesmeric Mirror trick into Jack's mind.
False life: 1d10 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13

I drew a dumb little picture of the front of the buildling on the map page.
The round windows are are about 12 feet above the ground. After you examine the building, you can see there are also smaller rectangular windows that once let light into the other rooms of the building. These smaller windows are 3-ft. wide and only 6-inches tall and are near the ceiling of the building.
Both the round windows and the rectangular windows are caked with dirt so that light no longer enters the building and it is difficult to see inside.
Fortunately, the dirt on the windows seems to mostly be on the exterior, so you could try to clean a window if you could get up to it.
The round windows are large enough that you could break one as an alternative entrance. But breaking a window is also noisy. The rectangular windows are too narrow for any of you to fit through.
Would it be possible to shoot a Grappling Hook Bolt onto the rooftop, and use the attached rope to scale up to the windows?

Henrika Karthis |

I really love the little drawing of the halflings on the storefront.

Henrika Karthis |

Navia's relying on an amulet of mighty fists. But if you'd like, Xallis could cast barkskin for a natural AC bonus.
Let's do that, then! Henrika will give her amulet of natural armor +2 to Jack for the time being, put on the swarmbane clasp, and gratefully accept barkskin from Xallis.

Tychus Marcaius |

The Con damage brings Malphene to 13 Con so she temporarily loses 6 max hp.
If it's Con Damage, it shouldn't affect her until it hits 2. Since Ability Damage doesn't lower the actual score (Drain does).

GM Peachbottom |

Uhh, is this thing critable? I also forgot to change my crit multiplier to x3 since level 6.
An incorporeal creature is immune to critical hits and precision-based damage (such as sneak attack damage) unless the attacks are made using a weapon with the ghost touch special weapon quality.

Henrika Karthis |

Sigh, fair, but such a waste of insanely good rolls!

Yea, ok. I couldn't quite remember, and had to make a hasty post from my phone. You won't see me rolling like that again, haha!

Tychus Marcaius |

Then a second identical beast appears and bites at Tychus with razor sharp fangs.
The creature bites Tychus and shakes its head violently, tearing flesh.
The barghest hits Tychus for 12 damage. The barghest was under invisibility so it hits Tychus’ flat-footed AC but the invisibility drops after the attack.
Darn. I was hoping they were summoned. Would have prevented bodily contact. Oh well, the AC bonus is still nice!

Henrika Karthis |

My apologies, everyone-- it seems my feed for this game has stopped updating. I haven't gotten notifications since Sunday. I will try to figure out what is going wrong. I thought it was weird I didn't get any emails yesterday!

Xallis Livara |

Navia hits Barghest (Red) 3 times for a total of 37 damage. I may be wrong, but it doesn’t look like the power attack was included in the attack penalty or damage bonus but I’ll just leave it alone.
Oh. Oops! I was phone posting from a friend's house and must have rushed it. Yeah, I added power attack to the tag but did nothing with the math. So I guess it works out?

Henrika Karthis |

I am going on a trip today and tomorrow. I tried to do my post before leaving, but I got hung up trying to find all the information we have on the pairaka to help Jack figure out what to do. He'd like to move closer and then get its attention, to try and lure it into attacking him instead of Navia or Henrika, so he can attack back.
I was thinking Henrika would also move closer and attack, fixing Nazinia with her hypnotic stare. But if you bot them, you can have them do something else if it seems appropriate. :)

Trevor Kastner |

I will post when my player gets home from work.

Henrika Karthis |

Okay, I got home from my weekend and spent some time where I left off. Here's everything the enchanter told us about pairakas:
•A pairaka’s type is outsider (div, evil, extraplanar, shapechanger).
•It is immune to fire, poison, and disease.
•It is resistant to acid and electricity.
•It is vulnerable to cold iron or good-aligned weapons.
•It has spell resistance.
•Its claws inflict a disease called bubonic plague.
•Contant with a pairaka’s skin inflicts a disease called the shakes.
•A pairaka can torment sleeping creatures. While an intelligent creature sleeps, a pairaka can slip into the target’s mind and twist its dreams to lusty nocturnal visions.
•It can change shape into any Small or Medium animal or humanoid.
•Its spell-like abilities include: detect good, detect magic, charm monster, dimension door, misdirection, and insect plague.
•It can summon other doru divs.
•A pairaka speak Abyssal, Celestial, and Infernal. It can also communicate telepathically.
•All divs suffer a particular weakness. For a pairaka, it cannot stand the color red. It never wear the color or enter a place that is painted red, and it always attack creatures that are garbed in clothes of a crimson hue first.
I don't know how much of this each of us would remember, but it's likely some of it since it wasn't that long ago and we knew what we were getting into.

Swarms with Evasion |

I’m sorry. I know nauseated sucks and is basically miss a turn. =(. But fortunately Henrika passed the save because her and Xallis are probably the only ones able to harm the swarm anyway. Hero point to Henrika for thinking to wear the swarmbane clasp. You needed it.
Hey, it could always be worse

GM Peachbottom |

GM, would it be all right for Henrika to activate her Mask Misery trick with Reflexive Trick in response to the initial Fortitude save? If I'm reading it right, that would remove the sickened penalty for 1d4 rounds, which might also affect the success and potency of her subsequent rolls. For example, she might make her Reflex save and not become infested. :)
Also, I don't think she's still enlarged, because her potion wore off the round she defeated the pairaka, but she is large on the map and I noticed you included a penalty for size on her Reflex save. I'll shrink her back again. :)
Yes, you can use Mask of Misery. And you are correct, Henrika should not still be large. I removed the status in my tracker but didn't update the token. I'll change the size now.
So, if you do that, then you will pass the Reflex save and Henrika is not infested. I'll make the appropriate corrections next post.
They're immune to criticals, right?
Yes, under swarm traits: A swarm has no clear front or back and no discernible anatomy, so it is not subject to critical hits or flanking.
She's having a pretty bad time.
That picture is great!

Henrika Karthis |

Just FYI, I'm leaving for an extended vacation tomorrow morning, and I will be away from my computer for almost two weeks. I'll have my phone and I'll try to keep up with what's happening, but Henrika and Jack may need botting as I will be slightly less engaged than usual.

Tychus Marcaius |

Clean up
I also see on the treasure sheet that Tychus has a flaming scimitar that isn’t on his character sheet. The fire damage could have worked on the swarm. Oh well. But I will also let him use it to burn out the grubs if a character fails to expel them with the antiplague. I’m not going to roll the damage either. He can hold the fire up to the infestation until the character and swarm take 5 damage and end the effect.
I'll be the first to admit I totally forgot I had that. lol

GM Peachbottom |

So I don't know if anyone is interested or not, but I started playing in a PF2E Pbp game for the Prey for Death adventure and the GM needs to replace a player.
I told the GM I'd ask and see if any of you wanted to join. There's only one spot though. But truly I have to say everyone in this group has been great. I couldn't think of just one person to single out and ask, so I figured I'd put out an open post.
Here's a link to the discussion board for the campaign if you want to look. We've barely just started.
Pop in there if you are interested. I'll leave it up to the GM to make any decisions.

Xallis Livara |

Ohh... interesting! I'll poke my head in the discussion and see what's up.
As for the gear? Xallis already has a con belt. But I think that banner may suit him just fine!

Henrika Karthis |

Henrika could benefit from the belt, and I could pass her belt of constitution to someone else who could benefit from it, like Malphene or Julania?

GM Peachbottom |

Oh, you know what. I missed this detail, but just came across it when looking back at some notes. At the very beginning of the chapter, the halfling attendant at the Mercantile Council mentions Rhundle was missing.
The halfling leads you down a long echoing corridor. While you walk, he provides further information. ”The 19-member Mercantile Council consists of five principals and 14 associates who represent the wealthy interests of Yanmass. Today, one of the associate councilors, banker Rhundle Navin, is also unexpectedly absent. I admit that Baron Kustios’ absence isn’t surprising, as the baron has been ill at home for many days, leaving the task of city governance entirely in the hands of the Mercantile Council. Banker Navin, however, was not ill as far as I am aware. Our other guest today, Earl Merkondus, is a wealthy aristocrat from southwestern Taldor who has expressed strong Imperialist leanings. The Mercantile Council itself doesn’t lean particularly strongly either way—although certain members have their own opinions.”

Henrika Karthis |

Since we are probably waiting on loot before moving on, let’s assume Henrika is wearing the belt of physical perfection, and that she’ll give her Str/con belt to Jack. Jack’s belt of con +2 will go to Trevor to decide what to do with it. :)

Henrika Karthis |

I can’t put my moves on the map very well on my phone, but both Henrika and Jack will move forward and engage the pairakas, hoping to interrupt their casting. Henrika’s bull’s strength only adds +2 to her Str because of her belt. She will activate her hypnotic state before attacking, hoping to add to her damage (and thus increase the Concentration DC) if she hits.

Tychus Marcaius |

I'm kinda assuming where I can stand on the stairs to see them. If that spot can't see them, I still have enough movement left to place myself in between Navia, Jack and Henrika.
